## What is Agavedex?

Agavedex is the collector's companion for agave, caudex, cactus, and rare plants. Start with one plant or a whole greenhouse: give every specimen a lasting identity, photo album, and growth record.

ONE PLANT, ONE STORY
Create your collection with photos, scientific names, cultivar names, aliases, and notes. Browse in a visual grid or list, then search and sort growing collections in seconds. Each plant has its own album, so its story never gets lost in your camera roll.

RECORD GROWTH AND CARE
Add photos and care events to a chronological timeline: repotting, watering, root work, pup removal, planting, and more. Record outdoor conditions or indoor LED growing details to preserve how each plant has been grown.

BUILD YOUR PLANT DEX
Link plants to species records, explore taxonomy and cultivars, and grow your own collection map. Agavedex is made for agave, caudex, cactus, hybrids, seedlings, and the names and parentage details collectors actually use. Discover Dexmon cards and take part in community challenges to add a playful layer to collecting.

SHARE YOUR COLLECTION
Choose the plants you want to make public, then share a clean public album and trainer profile with other collectors. Create pixel-art collection cards, J-card collages, sell cards, and photo creations for Instagram, WhatsApp, and your plant communities.

MADE FOR COLLECTORS
Agavedex is not another generic watering-reminder app. It is a visual collection Dex for plant identity, progress, and community—finished in a dark forest-green, pixel-art style made for collectors.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.2.2 — 2026-08-18

New Features
• Added Foliage and Platycerium as two new plant categories.

Changes
• Redesigned seedling albums and their interface, making each seedling easier to identify and manage.
• Album names and AgaveDex species identity are now handled separately, so you can keep your own album name while linking the correct species.

Bug Fixes
• Improved seedling album uploads and sync to prevent same-name seedlings from being linked incorrectly.
• Fixed how maternal markers, brackets, and the cross symbol “x” appear in hybrid names.

### 4.2.1 — 2026-08-11

New Features
• Each album can now keep up to three Pixel Art images. Choose a cover, delete or remake an image, and replace a slot only after the new image succeeds.
• DEXMON now has generations: release an active T1–T3 lineage, summon the next generation, and keep claimed cards and lineage history available in the album collection.
• Collection Cards can now be filtered by card type, DEXMON status and generation.

Changes
• DEXMON generation draws from a much wider mix of natural, prehistoric, constructed and East Asian folklore-inspired forms.
• Photo viewing and cropping are clearer: actions live in a compact menu, five crop ratios are available, and setting a cover opens a non-destructive 1:1 adjustment.
• Species search and detail pages are easier to scan, with clearer long hybrid names, aliases, parent links and group information.

Bug Fixes
• Fixed stale Pixel Art covers on the collection home and generation dates that could incorrectly appear as 1970.
• Fixed album creation failures that could leave an incomplete album when the first photos did not save; retries are now cleaner.
• Fixed identity matching cases where seedlings or edited hybrid formulas could link to the wrong species through similar names or stale parent data.

### 4.2.0 — 2026-08-07

New Features
• Add 1–15-second videos to collection albums. Trim, frame and zoom, then set a cover, date, caption, sound, and visibility before uploading. Uploads can wait for Wi‑Fi, continue after leaving the editor, and retry interruptions.
• Find a plant with unified search by name, full cross formula, or mother/father conditions. Check direct and deeper pedigree matches, uncertain maternal direction, and saved or pinned searches.
• Discover a FEATURED photo/video spotlight and up to 10 featured albums.

Changes
• Pixel Art now requires an album linked to the correct catalogue species and made public; the app explains what to do next.
• IG Sticker Hub adds Zansyu Bold and Dayi Xiuli. Album tag management now provides inline rename and delete controls with a clear impact prompt.

Bug Fixes
• Album and photo deletion now completes even when cloud-file cleanup is delayed, so removed content stays removed after sync.
• Recreated seedling albums safely recover their exact identity, while hybrid names, groups, and variegation colors stay consistent in catalogue display and navigation.
• Fixed iCloud video selection, video framing, cover dates, profile video counts, and iOS audio handling.

### 4.1.0 — 2026-08-03

New Features
• Each album can use Pixel Art or a selected photo as its cover, with a live preview.
• Care logs add fertilizing, pruning and pest control. Same-day events are grouped; public albums share dates and types only, never private notes.
• Eligible new Caudex/Succulent albums can include a scientific-name proposal; adopted proposals may earn Pixel Credits.

Changes
• Album tools are reorganized, and the care calendar now marks all six event types for faster browsing and editing.
• Collections refresh from the cloud when the app returns to the foreground, bringing in changes from another device or the web sooner.
• The website and web collection experience are redesigned for clearer desktop browsing and album actions.

Bug Fixes
• Fixed public-album photo upload failures, including some Android Ultra HDR photos.
• Reduced freezes after creating an album and duplicate work during large photo syncs.
• Fixed pending reviews after an album name/category changed, and tightened hybrid matching to prevent wrong album links.

### 4.0.0 — 2026-07-30

New Features
• CREATOR DECK lets Trainers turn album photos or Pixel Art into an IG Post Cover or IG Motion Cover, then save or share the result.
• IG STICKER HUB creates transparent stickers from Pixel Art, DEXMON, variety and album names, Trainer names, and public-album QR codes. Type, direction, colour, outlines, and shadows can all be adjusted.
• Album setup has been redesigned with clearer steps for photos, exact species or hybrid parentage, variegation, growing environment, and substrate.

Changes
• Collection, Feed, Explore, Pokédex, species, album, and profile screens have been redesigned with more consistent layouts and clearer actions.
• Album timelines, photo viewing, timelapses, downloads, sharing, and management tools have been reorganized, making each plant’s history easier to follow.
• Species and Trainer search, discovery, profile displays, collection loading, and Feed refreshes have been improved.

Bug Fixes
• Photo uploads can safely retry after network or storage problems and continue when Trainers reopen the app.
• Fixed hybrid parentage, maternal direction, seedling identity, and localized-name handling to reduce incorrect links and merges.
• Improved public-album sync, Feed activity, timelines, media loading, and IG Motion Cover export reliability.
