## What is Age of Sovereigns?

Age of Sovereigns is a real-time strategy game about taking castles that belong to someone else.

You start with one castle on a big shared map - islands full of cities, most of them owned by real players (or by nobody, yet). Scout a neighbour, pick which city to attack from, and watch your army actually march there. If your timing is good, the city is yours. If not, you'll read all about it in the battle report.

Everything runs on one clock, so distance genuinely matters: attacks take time to arrive, a rally from three cities moves as slow as its slowest leg, and a well-timed shield can save your whole evening.

Once you're in, there's plenty to sink into:

• Clans and alliances, with donations, rallies, shared temples and ranked clan wars
• Seasons and leagues - climb, get promoted, collect your rewards, start over a division higher
• A talent tree, gear and loadouts, chests and artifacts to shape how you play
• Temples and buff sites on the map that are worth fighting your neighbours over
• Quests, events, achievements and leaderboards

It's the kind of game you check during a coffee break and then keep thinking about. It's in active development and the Discord community genuinely steers what gets built next - half of the recent updates started as player suggestions. Playable in 18 languages.

Free to download. Your neighbours are already playing - probably a little too close to your border.

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2026-08-21, version 1.7.6*

Been a blast. From when I started to where it’s at now in such a short time shows the commitment and professionalism this Developer and his community team has for this game. Cannot recommend it enough.

### 1/5 — Favoritism

*2026-08-08, version 1.7.2*

Don’t matter they just gone deny it but it’s crazy how all these money spenders can get on say stuff but once u say something back u get blocked from saying what u want and defending yourself!!! But it’s cool tho the game not worth it keep playing million lords !!! Cause they let u say what you want and do what u want they don’t take away what war is so they can make money off people.. that’s all it is I been playing for 2 season and I still yet to get legendary equipment not 1 piece…

### 5/5 — Great strategy game

*2026-07-29, version 1.7.2*

I have played many games similar to this in the past and feel like this is the best one I have played so far. Most require a lot of money after you play for a while but this one seems like you don’t have to pay to play. The Developers seem very responsive and honest, and the whole community seems great! 100% recommend!

### 4/5 — Actually a good game.

*2026-07-27, version 1.6.3*

This is actually a good game, it’s a replica of million lords but much less pay 2 win aspects, much more and much better mechanics then million lords too, this game is genuinely just better then million lords by a mile. The only problems i have with the game (bearing in mind this game is like a month old), the first problem is the performance of the game when opened for a long period of time, as performance degrades significantly when played for 30+ mins, the second problem is the bug where the city you level up sometimes doesn’t apply, you can press upgrade but it doesn’t go up or the level ends up going down rather then up, this is something that generally needs to be fixed pretty quickly. i also believe the Ui needs to be polished abit more but i can’t complain too much because as i said this game is brand new compared to million lords that has been out for years and is still an absolute buggy mess. It’s extremely free 2 play friendly. All round this game is brilliant and i genuinely cannot wait to see what happens in the future. Good work devs you got a good one here.

### 1/5 — Wife and i

*2026-07-27, version 1.6.3*

Dev said my wife cant attack me they call it like cheating lmao. So i cant fight my in any futur season , that include my roomate too. Juste because we live together.

Dont spend anytime in that stupid game

### 5/5 — Very good start for new game

*2026-07-22, version 1.6.3*

The dev and staff are accessible and work fast to fix problem player find in the game. Different from other game with same genre unique feature. Seem like lot of people supporting the competition seem to undermine this game. Play it and if something seem off to you simply tell it in their discord, they are pro active and listen the players opposite to many games.

### 1/5 — Brutal

*2026-07-21, version 1.6.3*

A terrible rip off of million lords. All the the people who have been cheating and banned from million lords are not playing this game. Multi account users, planned trading between players.

Also not sure how this is not breaking any trade mark laws

There is no game here

### 5/5 — Great potential

*2026-07-20, version 1.6.3*

Game has a lot of potential it has very good bones I’m extremely exited to see how far they take the development one things for sure I will be along for the ride

### 5/5 — Great new twist on and addictive game

*2026-07-20, version 1.6.3*

It’s a blast, the competition in this game style is awesome with friends and while it’s still in beta I have never seen such a responsive dev team, this game will continue to improve every day on what is already a fantastic premise

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2026-07-20, version 1.6.3*

This game is in beta currently, but it is fantastic. The developer is responsive, quick to fix bugs, and provided a road path that looks very promising. 10/10 recommend.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.5 — 2026-08-29

A world that is alive, and has a climate
- The map is no longer a painted backdrop. Meadows roll, windmills turn their blades, farmsteads sit in wheat fields, campfires flicker, mines dig into the mountainsides, boats sail shore to shore, caravans ride the dirt roads between your cities, deer and horses graze the hills, and brooks wind down to the sea.
- The world has regions now: jungle, snow and volcanic country, each with its own ground and rock, and wildlife that stays where it belongs. Volcanic land is cracked lava with lava running through the mountains, and the volcanoes above it smoke.
- Main cities burn bright, with a rising flame on the golden star ring, and an enemy clan's cities carry a red ring with flickering flames while a war is on.

Cities you can recognise
- Every castle and town model is rebuilt. A castle reads as a castle, the keep rises instead of sprawling sideways, and the debris around neutral villages is gone.
- City labels are painted banners now, in the colour of whoever holds the place: the level on the pennant, the troop count along the ribbon, and a countdown on a red strip while a city is under wall protection.
- Decoration casts a soft shadow on the ground again, on every device and not just the fastest, so the map has depth. And the animals stand on the ground instead of sunk to the waist in it.

Season events
- The events screen is one window with a tab rail instead of two panels sliding in from opposite sides. Quests moved inside it, and missions became a grid of tiles you take in at a glance instead of a list you scroll.
- Every running event gets its own tab, with its own mission board, its own currency and wallet, a shop (city skins with a rotating preview, potions, main-city changes, transfer rushes, chests) and a reward track that pays out as you earn.
- One Events button below Shop badges the missions waiting for you, and every special offer gets its own button instead of sharing one.

Plan ahead
- Talent plans: pre-select where your future skill points go, past the points you hold, tier skills included.
- Recall All: every city you own sends its garrison home in one tap.
- An auto-upgrade item that keeps your cities rising evenly for 24 hours while you are away, at the same costs and rules as by hand.
- Arrival notifications: tick the box when you send an army and you are told, push included, the moment it lands.

Clans
- The leader can rename the clan, war targets are marked on the map and the mini-map, officers see the last seven days of contributions per member, and the top clans and alliances earn diamonds at season end.

Quality of life
- Shop offers show and respect their daily purchase limit, Regroup takes every city in range again whatever it holds, and Equip Best fills your artifact slots too and picks by real total value, not by rarity.
- Chat translation runs through our own backend, so it stops failing.
- A full French pass across every screen, and hundreds of missing texts in the other languages.

Fixes from your reports
- Nearly 250 tickets from the community portal across this line. The ones that mattered most: Rally no longer freezes the game, your shield never breaks by accident, rally armies arriving after a target changed hands fight one combined battle, spy reports arrive on time, your own returning army is no longer reported as an enemy attack, and tapping Upgrade quickly no longer makes the level jump around.

Under the hood
- A large performance pass, so all of the above runs light instead of costing you frames and battery: over-modelled decoration thinned, the jungle no longer paying twice for canopy nobody can see, and every city and temple now shipping a map-only copy stripped of geometry the camera can never show.

### 1.7.6 — 2026-08-17

New in 1.7.5

This one is almost entirely about how the game feels. A stuttering map, castles that blinked in and out, and a phone that turned into a hand warmer. All three are fixed.

The map is smooth
- Panning no longer stutters while new islands load in, and the world keeps up with you instead of trailing behind.
- Castles appear the moment they come into view and stay put. Zoom out and back in and everything is exactly where you left it.

Your phone stays cool
- The game used to run flat out even when nothing was happening. It now settles down when you are not touching it, so it uses noticeably less battery and runs cooler.
- It also uses about a third less memory, which matters most on smaller devices.

Mini-map upgrade
- Your main cities stand out with their own ring, so you can find your capital at a glance.
- Marching armies show as markers along the route they are actually walking, and a city under attack glows red.
- Tapping the mini-map now glides the camera there instead of jumping, so you keep your bearings.

Getting around
- My Cities, Army Movements, battle reports, clan temples and shared chat markers now all fly the camera to their target instead of teleporting.

Fixes and polish
- My Cities and Army Movements now list all of your cities and marches. Before, anything far from home could be missing.
- Unequipping an artifact goes through properly, and tells you when something went wrong instead of quietly doing nothing.
- A shielded player can no longer scout you through the attack screen.
- We fixed a problem where push notifications could stop arriving.
- The HUD now clears the camera cut-out and no longer sits against the edges of the screen.
- Tapping where the chat used to be no longer opens chat while it is hidden.
- Diamonds are shown in full everywhere instead of being shortened.
- Stat badges and the Army Movements window stay readable at larger UI sizes.
- Playing on a single device no longer locks you out with a message about another device.
- We fixed a connection problem that could quietly keep the game talking to the server nonstop in the background.

### 1.7.2 — 2026-07-29

New in 1.7.2

Clan economy
- Earn Silver Coins by helping your clan (clan gifts and your clan-war contribution) and spend them in the new Clan Shop on consumables, with your silver balance always in view.

Strategic mini-map
- Tap the globe to open a live overview of the whole island: terrain plus your, allied and enemy cities as colour-coded dots. It follows your camera, you can zoom it, and buff sites now stand out as bright gold stars. Tap anywhere to jump the camera there.

Chest opening, reimagined
- Opening a batch now shows all your rewards with the true item count. Mythic and Legendary pulls appear as bigger, glowing hero cards, and the screen only closes on Collect.
- Tap any reward, in Season rewards, Achievements or Daily rewards, to see exactly which item and how much.

More to enjoy
- Add friends straight from clan and alliance chat.
- Officers get a Recruit tab to invite clanless players in one tap.
- Armies visibly speed up through friendly territory and slow down through enemy land.
- A bigger UI option (80 to 120 percent) makes the HUD, chat and menus easier to read, and screens resize to fit at large sizes.

Fixes and polish
- Return to main city now follows you after you change your main city.
- On iOS, downloading a battle report saves it to your Photos so you can share it.
- Your city count is now consistent across the HUD, profile and My Cities.
- Plus gentler map zoom, clearer reconnect feedback, and many smaller fixes.

### 1.6.3 — 2026-07-20

• Big smoothness pass — much less stutter while panning; cities pop in instantly.
• Refined HUD: tap the top for your resources; gold-framed, auto-hides to keep the map clear.
• Clan War: enemies show RED with a "War target" tag; moderators get a [Moderator] badge.
• Battle reports show your EXP multiplier and why.
• One active device per account for fairer, safer play.
• iPhone fixes, fairer spawns, chat in your language & lots of polish.

### 1.5.5 — 2026-07-14

Fixed the renames and rectified the discord auth link for iOS.
