## Newest reviews (10 of 32)

### 2/5 — Want to love this app but

*2023-08-09, version 1.36*

App crashes on startup on my M2 Max Pro MBP ???

### 2/5 — Asking constantly for permissions

*2022-09-29, version 1.28*

Generally it’s working but asking every start for local network permissions which are already granted.

### 2/5 — Vivement une vrai application

*2022-05-10, version 1.28*

### 2/5 — Going back to original platform

*2019-10-06, version 1.16*

Constantly disconnects, have to ‘kill’ the app and restart, then it connects again immediately. Messages like ‘Failed’ appear on screen, but tapping for more info just gives a blank screen. Great concept but just not reliable enough yet from my experience.

### 4/5 — Great concept but buggy and very outdated UI

*2019-04-27, version 1.16*

This app allows me to view my CCTV cameras remotely just fine, but if I were to leave the app and return it reports all my cameras are down when they are not. I have to open up recent apps and swipe this app away and then re open it to get it to properly refresh. Additionally, the UI looks like something found on a Windows 95/98 machine. A cleanup and modernization would be nice. It otherwise does its job. 3/5.

### 4/5 — Works but not friendly

*2019-04-07, version 1.16*

Until I subscribed, remote access wasn’t available.

### 1/5 — Feed not working

*2018-12-27, version 1.16*

Can’t see anything so what’s the point

### 1/5 — Alert hell

*2018-12-18, version 1.16*

The API key settings are lost every several hours.

The directory write settings require you to make the directories first.

The directory settings offer a UNC path but will not save changes if a UNC path is used.

“Add path” replaces the primary path. No secondary paths can be added.

If your API key expires, and it starts snowing, it is impossible to update the API key, disable alerts, etc. The green bars demanding a new key block the buttin, and tapping to make them disappear sooner still is too slow to get to the settings editor.

You can either see movement, or filter snow flurries, but never both.

With phone on silent/ do not disturn, this buzzes. Blocking notifications in the app does nothing, so buzz buzz buzz buzz all the time and it cannot be acknowledges nor stopped.

Backgrounded, the app will keep givingbalerts, but the main UI will lose access to the server. You have to force close and re-open the app.

Most functionality requires paying for a monthly subscription. No emails, no alerts, no saving anywhere else.

“Confirm you want to do this”, but whatis “this”? Archive, delete, and cloud are tiny and right next to each other, all with the same confirmation text.

Cannot scroll in files (aka videos) nor snapshots (aka still photos). Can only drag to select.

### 4/5 — Feed Working Again!

*2018-11-23, version 1.16*

Now that the feed is working again, I can finally view everything. Overall, it still feels a little clumsy with navigation and UI since it’s just a wrapper around the web site, but the push notifications are nice.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2018-11-03, version 1.16*

The app and all the menus load but live video, snapshots, and recordings don't play. It just shows up as a blank screen.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Paid the subscription to access the mobile app

*2023-10-10, version 1.36*

I appreciate how useful the software is even when free, and I wanted to use it for my security system, ideally accessible on my iPhone. So I paid for the subscription to use the mobile app and remote access. Turns out there is no mobile app, it’s literally just a browser.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-12-22, version 1.28*

I just want a local connection to the DVR, why does this need an account?

### 1/5 — So greed

*2022-11-15, version 1.28*

No directly connection to your DVR server 🤷‍♂️

### 1/5 — Die Nutzung der App kostet 5,- im Monat

*2022-11-09, version 1.28*

### 1/5 — Just Bad

*2022-09-24, version 1.28*

Push notifications are not working, Strange Free Trail, Bad UI, Buggy as hell.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t remember login.

*2022-04-09, version 1.28*

Despite choosing the option to remember my details the app eventually loses my login details forcing me to write them down.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2021-08-31, version 1.20*

Will not even open the app stuck on eye loading screen

### 1/5 — Home Assistant

*2020-10-08*

You can’t point to your local instance. Requires a subscription. The first screen gives the impression that it can be done but in fact won’t let you edit the address so only a good app if you pay for a subscription.

### 1/5 — Trial?!

*2020-09-24, version 1.20*

It doesn’t tell me that there is a seven day free trial and then one day it pops up saying that the seven day free trial has started!! Can you believe that?! I don’t want to lose money thank you very much!

### 1/5 — Dangerous Software

*2019-04-18, version 1.16*

The computer software required to setup a server is deceptive and invasive. They make it extremely difficult to find the files by vaguely naming them.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2024-06-19, version 1.73*

This app does what it claims. Low reviews are unfair as they are from people how haven’t taken the time to understand how this free to use system works. There are no hidden charges and the developer looks like they respect privacy (unlike a lot of the others out there).

iSpy Agent DVR needs to be installed on a computer with your cameras connected. This app acts as a viewer/remote control.

There is a subscription if you wish to view from anywhere outside you local network (outside the network your computer is on running iSpy Agent DVR). I must admit the subscription is out my price range, but totally understand that running, managing the servers to provide this service comes at a cost.

This system is excellent and it completely It’s free for use on your local network.

It’s system including this app works very well.

### 5/5 — Works great for intranet and Internet

*2024-01-11*

Not sure what happened to all the reviews but been using this app over a year now and it only gets better with each update.
Works great for my Internet and my paid yearly subscription Internet server at my church.
Works with all my various cameras from really old D link to more modern cameras.
Very customizable screens and options.

### 5/5 — Best CCTV DVR software for the buck.

*2023-11-22, version 1.66*

I tried several free and pay DVR services for my cameras and I ended up with Agent DVR as my final choice. It's not crippleware but fully functional for a local network and intranet, it's only when you want to port forward in or use their app for notifications and a few other features thats where you have to pay for a subscription. This allows you to put the software through the paces and you can determine whether this is the right fit for you. Comparing it to other subscription services that made you pay per camera for service this allows as many cameras as your computer can handle. Ended up purchasing the next level up from the base of scription in order to assign users various permissions. The base subscription does not allow that but if you're the only user that might work for you. I'm setting it up for a small nonprofit so I have several users that want to view the DVR recordings. Also Agent DVR gives you find tune controls so that you can get it exactly the way you want it and can customize media recording locations and even save to FTP storage. The developer responds quickly to technical issues through Reddit and is working to improve the app even more. For a newbie user it may seem a little overwhelming at first but eventually you'll get the hang of it and how to customize it the way you want and what views you want to see and what alert you want to receive from which camera. Software works with a plethora of cameras including obsolete cameras like old d-link cameras usb cameras and my Hughes net 2132LES cameras so they can be given a extended life as well as custom urls for your cameras.

Update: now supports local intranet cameras and paid subscription all in the same app, no need for home screen web shortcuts.

*2023-03-10, version 1.36*

### 5/5 — Best CCTV DVR software for the buck.

**Developer response:** The app is for remote access not local access. For local access just use a web browser.

### 5/5 — Webview parfaite

*2022-11-30, version 1.28*

Hello!
Opensource FTW

### 5/5 — Free trial

*2021-04-05, version 1.20*

I didn’t want to put myself into a money contract. It wasn’t made clear at the start there would be a cost. I’m deleting it before I can get into it.

### 5/5 — It works

*2021-03-30, version 1.20*

It works...
I gave 5 stars to please you to bringe more love to this App.

### 4/5 — Works for me

*2023-11-02, version 1.36*

There are some minor tweaks that I would make to interface, but they’re mostly cosmetic. There are 2 things that the app does need: bring back the clear all function for alerts, show the number of unread alerts on the icon badge. Currently the icon only shows a 1 on the home screen whether or not you have 1 or more unread alerts. It does not update past 1.

Otherwise, it’s easy to figure out how to get remote mobile access, set up onvif cameras with different live and record streams, setup views, groups, record and archive locations, auto purge functions, etc.

### 4/5 — I Like it

*2023-03-20, version 1.36*

The app works really well and is amazing with the ability to add floor plans and multiplication cameras and layouts
However the app is a little confusing to use at first and takes time to get used to
