## What is Agia?

Agia: saint of the day and name day wishes

Every day Agia introduces the saint of the day with their story, art and traditions, and helps you send name day wishes to whoever is celebrating with a greeting card for WhatsApp or social media.

Agia is not just a calendar, but a daily experience designed to give you a moment of pause, reflection and discovery of the heritage our patron saints have carried with them for centuries. Through a relaxing interface built on warm tones and Neo-Byzantine geometric elegance, Agia guides you as you rediscover history, art and local folklore.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND IN AGIA:

• Saint of the day: every day, discover the life and works of today's saint. Biographies are checked for historical accuracy and enriched with patronages, dates and accurate details about their mission.

• Art gallery and Neo-Byzantine style: be inspired by authentic historical artworks and unique illustrations in a geometric flat-glass style.

• Folklore and places: rediscover your bond with the land. For each saint, explore customs, shrines and traditional popular proverbs.

• Light a candle and community board: light a virtual candle for a thought or a prayer and explore the community board.

• Daily challenge (quiz): test your knowledge with the daily quiz on the history, patronages and curiosities of the saints.

• Name day wishes: celebrate your loved ones' name days by creating and sending elegant personalised greeting cards.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.29 — 2026-10-23

• Cleaner texts: in folklore customs and miracles, key names now appear in bold with no more asterisks; reading aloud ignores them too.
• Shorter name: the name under the icon is now simply "Agia".
• More system languages: in German, Chinese and Japanese, the calendar and system buttons now follow the device language.

### 1.0.28 — 2026-10-21

• New saints in the calendar: 23 new memorials, including Saint Joel the prophet (19 October), the Immaculate Conception (8 December), Saint Charbel Makhlouf (24 July), Saint John Henry Newman (9 October) and the saints canonised in 2025 Bartolo Longo, José Gregorio Hernández, Vincenza Maria Poloni and Maria Troncatti.
• Corrected dates: Saint Carlo Acutis is now celebrated on 12 October, the day of his liturgical memorial; Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini also appears on 13 November; Saints Timothy and Titus are no longer repeated on 24 January.
• Main saint of the day: on days with several saints, the most awaited one is shown first, for example Carlo Acutis on 12 October and the Immaculate Conception on 8 December; the same order applies to search by date, offline browsing and widgets.
• Name origin: a new section in the saint's page explains where the name comes from and what it means, with the level of certainty stated by the sources (attested, probable, debated or undocumented), the forms of the name in other languages and the attribution to Wikipedia.
