### 3/5 — sounds great but serious;y lacks in polish

*2025-10-20*

the freaking keyboard is not working like a typical mono-synth keyboard should, very frustrating, sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t, what are you guys thinking, any keyboard if you hold a key down and you play an other note will play the last note pushed, not this one! 🤦🏻‍♂️ even of you set this in the setting still not doing it in many cases, the wobbulater is also kind of a disappointment, a great idea poorly executed that limits it’s usefulness and locks you in into a weird button pushing slow workflow, why can’t we draw an envelope, why do we have to choose from preset envelopes and why not a menu, why do I have to cycle though the choices? makes no sense too me… also, why do I have to push buttons to go from one waveform to an other, why not a menu where I see what is available and choose without cycling through all of them, you can keep the buttons if you like that and give a menu too! An other thing, why keep it strictly a monosynth and cut out a whole world of creative opportunity, why don’t you just put a button to switch from mono the poly like any other synth does, after all this is not a hardware synth, it’s a freaking digital synth, why limit it in such a drastic way? It’s just many weird choices in UX and logic that makes 0 sense to me… really guys, did you think this through? I don’t think so. If you fix these weird choices it could be a great synth, right now it is a bunch of frustrations bundled together that slows down the workflow down and some makes you want to ditch the whole thing… what a pity since the sounds it can make is actually good. Fix this please!

### 3/5 — No sound in GarageBand

*2025-05-24, version 1.3*

When i opening this synth in garageband, it disables all sound in GB and it recovering after deleting Agonizer’s track. 100% repro, iphone 12

### 3/5 — No sound as Auv3

*2024-08-28, version 1.3*

Same thing here, excellent synth in standalone, but impossible to have sound in a host like AUM or AuV3.
Is it possible to fix it, because the synth is great, and it is a pity not being able to use in tracks
Thanks

### 4/5 — ベースの音はいい

*2023-06-13*

と思う。
ただ音作りが難解というか前向きに音作りする気になれない見た目が残念なところ

### 5/5 — Base Bass

*2022-08-23*

Can only love Jakob Haq's work, embrace and protect him!

Would like to be a beta tester. Maybe next time ...

### 4/5 — Very useful sound source, well designed but with some glitches...

*2022-08-19*

Playing with the integrated keyboard is quite challenging, as it seems that it does not handle legato playing in a proper way - might be a (imho questionable) design choice or a bug. If playing legato, sound output stops often unintended. This should be fixed or - if it is a design choice - should be switchable.

The preset browser seems to need some search facility and a filter for favorites. Currently it's very basic and does not feel that this has received much love from the developer and could benefit from some additional work.

The sound is pretty nice and useful. The user interface of the synth is well thought (at least fir me) and is really intuitive to use - however I do not understand, why I could not address all knobs - but only a selection - with the automation facilities. This could also be extended for even more freedom.

### 5/5 — Quit Hunting for a Bass App!

*2022-08-11, version 1.2.4*

Speechless! Great work and an excellent product! Thanks dudes! Worth every dime!

### 5/5 — The Best Bass Generator!

*2022-03-12*

Nice!!
Simple manipulation, but we can create massive and aggressive bass sound!

### 4/5 — I can’t Favorite Presets on iPhone

*2022-01-09, version 1.2.3*

The favorite feature doesn’t work on iPhone for some reason. Please fix.

### 5/5 — Top notch

*2022-01-05*

Great update and sounds thanks!

### 5/5 — Are you serious?

*2021-12-23*

Wow is all I can say! I am a vocalist for an industrial doom metal band Kryo-Flesh.
And this app far exceeded my expectations!
After I figured out how to work the basic functions of it. I legit have the start of two concepts for two new songs within less than 15 minutes! I can’t recommend this app enough and I would go as far to say it is the best synth based app I have purchased by far for the sounds you can produce with it! Seriously a top of the line app! If you are thinking of buying this stop thinking and press buy immediately! 😎

### 5/5 — Flexible

*2021-12-17, version 1.2.2*

Just a blast to experiment with, fun, and flexible. If you like making cool dub bass sounds, and then some you should get this.

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-11-17, version 1.2.2*

No me explico porqué este synth aún no tiene la repercusión que merece, realmente no quiero pensar que puedan influir elementos extraños al propio instrumento, el prestigio de Kai está ahi y el de Jacob igual, lo pone todo de buen rollo, es un icono, gracias

### 1/5 — Uhmmmmmm

*2025-05-25, version 1.3*

If haq attack actually used this app for more than a video tutorial, there’s no way he would think this is somehow flawless and good?

### 1/5 — Unstable and basically unusable in CB3

*2023-12-01*

Reported a year ago, still unfixed, very frequently goes silent or crashes.

### 1/5 — 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

*2023-11-24*

I really wish HaQ AttaQ would’ve picked a different developer to make this app with because this companies brand is going to go down in history as the buggiest iOS audio apps in history… i’ve downloaded freeware that works flawlessly 100% of the time

I know it takes a lot of time and effort in finding and fixing the bugs but instead of fixing the apps that we already purchased they use there time on creating new apps to get more money from us fix the ones we already purchased First.. I have a M1 iPad Pro 11 inch I have to open and close Agonizer several times just to get it to work all I get is no sound & the level meters are peaked out in the red with no audio… Please get to work on fixing bugs not creating new apps because right now I don’t think I’ll be giving you any more of my money unless things change and I’m sure other customers feel the same way 👎🏼👎🏼

### 1/5 — i have screenshots. first time opening app it told me

*2022-04-16*

that the neon nightmare 100+ sounds IAP was FREE.... let me repeat, FREE. so i clicked "check it out!" and then it pulled up an appstore purchase window for $0.99...... its only a dollar but thats not free... ? what an absolutely terrible way to give a first impression of an app, especially one held in such high esteem and even co created with haq attaq... im sure its a mistake? anyway i will email the devs with my screen shots and if they fix the issue by either removing the button that says "free" or (preferably but im not going to whine and beg) actually give me the IAP for free, then i will change my review. it was a bad first impression, i have spent literally months looking for a synth that i can make modern riddim style dubstep sounds with (infekt, AD, styn, the whole "Monsters" crew, or "The Riddim Project" ) and i finally decided to try this one (it was going to be this, shockwave phase destructor synth, or cyclops) and yeah, not a good first impression... maybe i should have went with cyclops because from what ive seen you can get some NASTY sounds with that synth.... well we will see i guess.

### 1/5 — Stop working on iPadPro 2020

*2021-11-27, version 1.2.2*

I bought this synth with a lot of illusion but since some months ago I don’t get any sound. It’s totally muted. I’ve installed new version , reinstalled but still not working. I’d need a solution for that or I will refund it.

### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD DAMAGED

*2021-10-30, version 1.2.1*

App permanently clips. Is damaged. Downloaded three times.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2020-11-14, version 1.0*

Sounds ok but there are better synths on iOS. User interface is clumsy, doesn’t scale properly and hurts my eyes. Uninstalled the app.

### 2/5 — Crash Bang Wallop

*2024-05-27*

As a standalone it’s very nice and in the short time it runs in Audiobus I’m impressed.
Unfortunately after a couple of minutes it crashes which is pretty frustrating seeing as a paid almost £8 for it.
Uninstalled and tried again with the same result. Any advice would be most welcome.

### 2/5 — Scream Issues

*2022-08-27*

I enjoy the app so far but there is an issue with scream button. every time I try to change a different preset, the screen button wigs out. I have to actually jiggle it inside the app in order to have it reset to “0.0”. It’s definitely a workflow killer if you want to try to navigate clearly through the presets. I wasn’t sure if it was a bug or a feature at first but after reviewing the videos and seeing that no one else seem to be running into this problem, something is off.

### 2/5 — Very buggy on iphone 6s+

*2021-07-22, version 1.2*

Dont know about ipad, but iphone version is super buggy, especially in cubasis. Interface jitter and slow adapting, text cut off. there is a bad issue with cutoff knob - it has serious lag in auv3 scenario. notes stucked and not triggered - as stanalone. Try to use keyboard settings. 2% of modulation set in matrix moves the control for almost entire range.. Jacob did you tried it on iphone? Haha. but the most important question here - where is keytracking for filter (??) i mean, how come.. ok. Sounds awesome, but hardly usable on iphone which is sad.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Such a good-sounding synth!

*2026-05-30*

I love it!
Sounds great. Accessible, the knobs do things, the set-up is worth trying to understand because it reveals itself to you (at least for me it did) pretty easily. The presets are good and the dials are still worth turning!
Playable, musical, gnarly. I love it.

### 5/5 — One of my favorites

*2025-01-31*

Just a note. It seems iOS 18.3 has caused some problems with Agonizer. It gets stuck on the splash screen. I’ve tried resetting the iPad and re-downloading the app. Hope an update is in the works. I’ll revise my review.

### 5/5 — Quit Hunting for a Bass App!

*2024-12-30, version 1.3*

Speechless! Great work and an excellent product! Thanks dudes! Worth every dime!

### 5/5 — Fat bass

*2024-08-05*

Fat bass

### 5/5 — Unique and Deep

*2024-05-18*

But what I love most about Agonizer is how it is clearly a labor of love, and how it continues to grow and develop. Worth a bit of effort to get to know this one, but there are tons of great presets for the impatient too!

### 5/5 — One of my favorite synths

*2024-05-17*

The sounds on here are so awesome and deep. I love the layout. Very smooth and when added to my work flow it spices things up. Check out shockwave as well, my other fav.

### 5/5 — ❤️‍🔥yep modulations all year that/this is Awesome job Jacob🔥

*2024-05-15, version 1.3*
