I love the fact that I get to see unique artworks and connect with artists from different countries, which fuels my creative inspiration and expands my artistic horizons. ### 2/5 — Could be much better *2022-04-05, version 2.16.0* The new crop is horrid. Missing out on the full frames of so many beautiful works of art. Not a single one of my photos fits this crop as I intend for them to. Not to exclude any artists that may be videographers, but the videography aspect of the app has taken away from the photography side, which is what the app was originally based off. I feel this is really unfortunate. The app is a constant work in progress. There were several occasions where the app simply wouldn’t allow me to log in, or post. Two crucial things. I think more thought could be put into the entirety of the app. As far as the art and artists I love to see your work and creativity. Remember that originality and authenticity are what make a work your own. ### 4/5 — Not able to vote on IPadOS 15 *2021-09-29, version 2.13.1* Crashes on vote button press. Also, freezes at the launch screen when opened first time on iPadOS 15. But overall it’s a good app so far. ### 1/5 — In a word...FRUSTRATING! *2019-09-05, version 1.7.7* I’m guessing the 4 and 5 Star ratings come from people that don’t know about GuruShots? Because compared to GS this app is nothing but frustrating. Where to start...Ok, so you click on contests and a whopping two or three contests appear that you can submit to. Then you notice they are running for weeks? Really?? Submitting photos is painfully slow, voting for photos is also very slow, and now it will be weeks before anyone wins. I joined this app just to have another photo contest site to have fun with. Guess I’ll keep looking because everything about this app is painfully slow and that’s not fun. Try GuruShots and you will dump this app, I guarantee it. ### 2/5 — Overlooking the details. Growing to fast *2019-05-12, version 1.6.5* I have been with Agora from the beginning. Even though they have changed the app a couple times with big updates I have been with them for the long ride and liked watching them grow and be apart of it. However with the first big update I lost all my stars due to an update glitch. They were very response and corrected the problem quickly. Then when closing in on the mater level I suddenly lost over half my points again. I contacted support and they communicated with me back and forth for over two months with no fix and then closed the ticket. I still don’t have the missing points. I liked participating in this app but will delete soon if not resolved and secondly would love to sell photos on here but linking to PayPal like every other site in the world is not an option. Please fix the above and I will gladly give 5 stars. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2019-04-01, version 1.6.1* Overall awful. This app could have been great but there are way to many irrelevant pictures, the set up doesn’t really works for showing off any of them. Also it used to be where you can post as many as you wanted that applied however with new updates you have to get credits to post more then one. Overall bad experience ### 3/5 — Problem whith stripe account *2019-03-01, version 1.5.5* Because I live in Greece, I have a problem opening a stripe account. Support does not help my problem. There must be other forms of payment. ### 1/5 — Issues with logging in *2019-02-01, version 1.5.1* I’m having issues with logging. Well, kinda. After I log in I try to go upload a photo and it ask for me to log in again. This is a reoccurring problem I’m having. ### 3/5 — It’s an fun idea but *2019-01-16, version 1.5.0* it could be a lot easier to use. there are bugs like, the entire app crashing while trying to upload photos to your “GuruShots”. Also, it says i’m supposed to meet requirements to move up in my overall level but I’ve met the requirements (plus more) & my level hasn’t budged. I do have an issue uploading some of my pics! They will load all the way to the end, but they will never truly finish loading or enter the app and stay in it! The app freezes and won’t do anything else and I’ve had to close it several times! Hope you can work around this issue ### 1/5 — Can’t post anything *2018-09-14, version 1.4.0* It keeps asking me to either create a profile or connect with fb , which I have done a bunch of times. I click to upload a photo and asks me again to log in or sign up...really annoying as I was very excited to try this out but what the hell. ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time and energy *2018-07-10, version 1.1.0* I wanted to like this app, but here’s what happened. First, there are way too many irrelevant pictures being posted in each contest, making it difficult for your own submission to be viewed. Second, after weeks of following and rating, I still had zero followers myself. I did reach out to the people at Agora to no avail. They will not respond to you if you have a question or concern. Third, although I know I am not a master photographer, I have received positive feedback through other platforms like ViewBug and GuruShots. However, some can get away with posting low-resolution pictures that receive thousands of likes. My advice: if you’re serious about being part of a community of photographers, look elsewhere because this is a shady site. ### 3/5 — Was Enjoying *2018-07-05, version 1.1.0* I believe it’s long overdue for an update. It takes forever and a day to get a picture uploaded or it doesn’t even upload. Having a real hard time with this app and my iPhone 8 Plus and I don’t understand why. I love the app and the community, but wow. Please fix!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ushering in the era of Ai trash. *2024-01-17* This app used to be a beautiful community of amazing artists and staff, even the core team was involved in sharing their art. Then they started hosting ai competitions. Now it is no longer an honest or artist-minded platform, otherwise they would protect their artists from this talentless leeching atrocity against artists. Stable diffusion images aren’t art, they’re stolen amalgamations of the styles and artwork that millions of artists have done so far, used against their will to create text-to-image crap. It takes no skill to create except typing a word prompt. It’s the antithesis of art. And now they have people submitting ai photos in photography competitions. They sure do hard work curating and barring me from sharing my real art because of nudity, yet widely celebrate nudity on the app. I was even told my work couldn’t be posted because of frontal nudity several times when the photo of the year winner was a fully exposed frontal nude. The team continuously stands by decisions and opinions that are completely hypocritical. But they’re fine hosting text-to-image algorithmic nonsense and having it compete against real art. It’s over… have fun competing against robots. ### 1/5 — Slow App and Website *2023-12-13* I tried over 5 times to create a account, when I finally got in all of the changes I made to my account (links, social medias) weren’t able to update. I was left with a blank page that I couldn’t customize. I also noticed the ability to “boost” posts, I haven’t looked into it but this seems kinda like pay to win, which isn’t fair because not every artist has the same budget. ### 1/5 — Currently unusable *2021-11-25, version 2.13.1* It asks me to read and accept the terms and conditions before allowing me to do anything. This would not be an issue if the app were capable of loading said terms, but it's not. I just get endless circles. Also, the "app support" link took me to another site completely. ### 1/5 — I’m just going to delete it *2021-06-27, version 2.13.1* I can’t give any stars because I just get an error. I can’t contact them. When I hit Contact us it opens a blank page with no option to do anything. There is no Instagram page after they tell you to follow them on Instagram. If I download an app and right away there are problems, I’m going to dump it. There are others. Apparently the app creator doesn’t care about it. Either that or they have no idea what they’re doing. ### 1/5 — Can’t even go back to my profile! *2021-05-30, version 2.13.1* I just re downloaded this app after not having it for a while. I can log in fine, but it tells me to accept the new terms and conditions and it just loads forever. So basically the app is useless until this bug is fixed which I doubt will be any time soon. I also remember the worst photos I’ve seen get so many likes even though they’re either poor quality or a photo of a leaf or something stupid like that. ### 1/5 — Wrong location *2021-05-28, version 2.13.1* Every time I attempt to put where I live. Where the photos were taken. It will add a different town When I type my city in. Suggestions come up correct. But I select the one I want. Different city pops in the slot. ### 1/5 — No customer support *2021-04-22, version 2.13.1* I have requested a password reset several times but when I am sent the link it doesn’t work. I then contact support and they don’t answer or they write some confusing message that makes no sense. I have been unable to access the app for about a week now. Poor customer service ### 1/5 — Bugs, Hard To Enter Contests, And Too Political *2020-12-02, version 2.8.0* First off when I tried to make an account the first day having the app it was glitching, and wouldn’t allow me to create an account. When I finally was able to create an account I found when entering a contest, you have to remember to add the # or you will not be entered into any contests. I don’t see any options to edit the caption either. Meaning if you forget you have to delete your post, and start from scratch uploading photo, title, caption, key words, etc. On top of the poor setup, it seems they have political bias when creating nearly all of their contests. If your photography isn’t created to push their “I can’t breath” wear a mask views, you most likely won’t win anything. The only contests I saw that seems to be neutral were the, photo of the year, photo of the week contests, and one contest on small things. I was thinking about expanding my reach from guru shots, and viewbug, but every app I download either has a poor setup or comes with malicious viruses. ### 1/5 — New Update Is Terrible! *2020-05-13, version 2.0.11* It was a good app until Agora started trying improve every single feature. Now this app is glitchy and just plain ugly looking. Leave good enough alone. I’ve deleted my photos after hearing horror stories from other photographers, and, get this, you need to message them to delete your account. Perfect ### 5/5 — Good but glitchy *2019-05-07, version 1.6.5* I love the app but it doesn’t always work. Sometimes I submit my pictures for challenges and it appears like it’s going to load and then it goes blank and it does not load. I’ve missed out on many challenges this way. There’s like a 50/50 chance that my picture will actually submit to the challenge. And now they have those credits which was not the best route to take. Now not only do I have a 50% chance that my picture may not submit to a challenge, but if it doesn’t upload to the challenge, it still uses up my credit so then I can’t even work on another picture to upload... and there’s a section where you can watch a video a day to get a free credit a day, and when I try, it says “Unable to play video” so nothing works properly. I was hoping to just focus on this photography app but with its glitches, I’m looking back at the others I’ve used before. Their customer service has been great but they have not been able to solve my problem.
