### 2/5 — The constant use of Ai really bothers me

*2026-08-04, version 1.60.26*

Hard to look past the constant use of Ai images and videos if that’s something that upsets you. It frankly pisses me off that the subscription price is so high, and yet the devs are too lazy to pay actual artists to make simple comics for them. Sometimes the comics they use as examples are genuinely confusing to understand. Even making a low quality doodle on a piece of paper would have been infinitely easier to understand, because it was created by a human being who actually knows what they’re doing. I find it aggravating trying to even do some of the lessons on anger, which ironically is making me angrier. I am genuinely so sick of the ai trend being shoved down my throat literally everywhere.

### 3/5 — My grievances with gratitude for Ahead

*2026-07-31, version 1.60.26*

I have thought about rating this app Ahead with every intention that I thought this tool could help me by having conversations talking about grief that is personalized to me. Unfortunately, this app this tool in Chi sometimes it’s not easy. I constantly have to repeat myself or Kai doesn’t really listen at all do I have to Say. Instead, it likes to do its own thing and give me things that are not always good in derailed me from trying to speak my truth when technically, it’s an app that is designed to help people like me who I thought I had depression. i’ve been feeling so sad and anxious and very much alone identify as a person with IDD specifically down syndrome and when I tried this app, it’s not working for me but I’m learning a lot about the journey that I’m on and it turns out I have to leave visit some of the stuff cause I haven’t been doing that I’ve been working. I’ve been staying active but sometimes when I check in it’s really hard when Kai doesn’t really listen in as a repeat myself it’s just so frustrating and I feel very stressedOut and pressured.

Overall, well I would like to try to come to terms with is if the developer of a head that developed a head please consider adding a voice to a head as in like the chat bought the Chi do you have different voices because postal connections doesn’t matter, and I use another app called Ash Ash is the same thing as Keifer, my head it just gives you multiple voices and if you and the personalization included in like a whole personality for your chat, bot included in the personalized Therapy That is needed otherwise what’s the point of having his abs if it’s not like I don’t know it sounds like a toy in lies of a self-help app or more like a self or like some kind of therapy app that can help you, but obviously it cannot give medical advice, but it can help you in some areas. I think it needs to be priority. I would like that very much to make it more personal and that way I feel like I can have some attachment to this app and above and beyond, that’s all I have to say.

### 2/5 — Annoying

*2026-07-31, version 1.60.26*

There are good tips 60% of the time. A shame the voice is annoying (and condescending), the activities can go for too long, and it can be a bit clunky.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2026-07-23, version 1.60.26*

Cancelling your free trial, they’ll still try to charge you for the rest of the year.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-07-22, version 1.60.26*

This app sucks so much. I was in a state of mind that needed a little extra help; a daily “to-do list” just to learn a little to help me out. Every single day is the same thing, the rewards are the same, the exercises are the same. It was the biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent. It’s nothing I’ve never heard before. I committed to a year because I liked what I saw and the “trial” of it. I paid for a year and that’s the only reason I’m still here.

### 1/5 — Be careful for auto-renewal

*2026-07-22, version 1.60.26*

I got this app in April thinking it could help me with some
Anxiety. I got extremely busy with work and didn’t log in and was meaning to cancel before the automated renewal. I never received emails regarding the renewal because if I would have, I would have cancelled. Instead I have been receiving emails about how they can’t charge the card on file. They tried charging my card but weren’t able to because I got a new credit card. I am now receiving threats from this company if I don’t pay the auto-renewal charge (even though I never logged in to use it, I logged in one time to try to cancel), I will be sent to collections. I would be careful with this company, as an app trying to help people with stress and anxiety, they really aren’t transparent when the auto-renewal is coming up. They 100% should send emails when they are about to charge again.

### 4/5 — cool and sometimes i feel bettwr after using it

*2026-07-19, version 1.60.26*

cool

### 1/5 — Don’t do it!

*2026-07-17, version 1.60.26*

I downloaded this app while having a difficult day, assuming it would be a nice break from scrolling on social media for my mental health.
This is the worst interface I’ve ever found on an app. I guess if you are 9 years old it may be useful, but any adult that uses this should just go look into therapy.
Not only was it a waste of my time, even though I quickly realized how bad it was and attempted to cancel my “free trial” and remove my account, this app charged me around $80 for the literal 3 minutes I spent on the app before I cancelled.
They refuse to give a refund even though I can prove I immediately cancelled.
This is a scam. Don’t fall for it.

### 1/5 — DO NOT FREE TRAIL!!

*2026-07-14, version 1.60.26*

I decided to go ahead and do a free trial to get the whole experience of the app and I canceled my free trial before expired but then they charged me $60 and then I had to go back and cancel it again so why didn’t I get canceled the first time? And they don’t even have a IRL phone number to call you go through email so hearing from them is gonna be slim to nothing.

### 1/5 — Beware!!

*2026-07-09, version 1.60.26*

I signed up, created an account, and realized that same day the product wasn’t for me. It felt very simplistic, which I’m sure is helpful for some people. But as someone who already works with an in-person therapist, it just wasn’t a good fit.

So I deleted my account less than an hour after creating it. It was completely removed, I couldn’t even log back in afterward.

Then, seven days later, I was charged $80 for an annual subscription. How was I billed after my account had already been deleted? And why was my payment information still being retained after I deleted my account?

That experience feels incredibly misleading. Charging people after they’ve deleted their accounts is not how you build trust, especially in a business that serves people seeking mental health support.

### 1/5 — Disgusting customer service

*2026-07-08, version 1.60.26*

I reached out to them multiple times about the streaks issue and only received a message the second time. I explained how their system not recognizing presence in the app leads to more anxiety and stress trying to maintain a “streak” and how that doesn’t help people at all. Then I was given a response of “I don’t even know what you’re yapping about.” I’d include the screenshot of this trash if I could. Disgusting that there is zero empathy from the people running a “mental health” app. More like an anxiety booster. I’ll never suggest this to anyone ever again

### 1/5 — Sneaky! Don’t trust them

*2026-07-02, version 1.60.25*

Watch out for there tricks do not accept there cheaper offer

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Trail sub is a scam

*2026-08-13, version 1.60.27*

You can’t cancel this trail subscription on your own if you sign up using your Apple ID. I’m livid. This app is a total scam and you can’t contact anyone to cancel this trail subscription. Don’t download the trial!!!

### 1/5 — Free trial

*2026-08-11, version 1.60.27*

The app itself is great, but it’s too expensive and before the free trial ended I cancelled, but they are still trying to charge my card!!!

### 1/5 — Predatory Overcharge and refuse to help

*2026-08-11, version 1.60.27*

I canceled before the free trial ended, and it still charged me for the entire year. Ok so I went in and canceled and tried to contact them. I was advised to cancel in the App Store or switch to month to month. I did the latter and now not only am I already charged and paid for a year, but it’s charging me per month as well. They told me to cancel (after waiting a week for a reply), and if I cancel it’s telling me my access ends at the end of the month, even though I’ve paid for the year. Sending an email to “customer service”’is no help because it’s just AI, with canned responses.
Predatory billing and no help from the app developer. Don’t bother with this app.

### 1/5 — Font in app is way too small, doesn’t respect iOS scaling.

*2026-08-08, version 1.60.27*

App is unusable for anyone except those with perfect eye sight. It does not respect iOS scaling whatsoever. No settings to increase font size. What a shame. Glad the developer has perfect eyesight. Must be nice.

### 1/5 — BUYER BEWARE! READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS!

*2026-08-06, version 1.60.27*

BUYER BEWARE! DONT RELY ON THIS APP FOR MENTAL HEALTH!
I downloaded this app to accompany the individual counseling I was receiving to manage stress, emotional control, and grief. I really enjoyed the app and purchased the subscription after the 7 day trial. I didn’t find the individual components to be overall helpful but the integration with those and the KAI was what helped me tremendously. The reason for the 1 star is due to what happened with KAI. Imagine you have been working with a therapist for months and all the sudden they forget who you are and all your problems. That was my experience with KAI. All my deep thoughts, feelings, and good work were completely gone in an instant. No disclaimer was provided that this could happen but in the terms and policies, it’s written that they are not responsible for any information that disappears. This is a terrible way to manage a product that people in fragile states rely upon to help fix issues. Basically, sorry we didn’t tell you that the app may completely forget all the hard work you have been doing but the policy says no refunds because we put it in the fine print. The second reason for the one star is zero communication from the company. I have emailed multiple times and all I get is a message that states they will get back with me in 48 hours. Well it’s been 3 weeks and zero communication. It also isn’t a straight forward way to cancel the subscription. I had to go all the way into my email and click on the I deleted email where it asked to confirm my email. That’s the only way I was able to get out of the never ending loop of redirecting. I was just lucky that the email verification link took me finally to a page to unsubscribe.

### 1/5 — Broken and Fraudulent

*2026-08-02, version 1.60.26*

Everything in the app is slightly broken, except for the subscription management which is fully broken.

Reporting fraud.

### 1/5 — Don’t subscribe

*2026-07-31, version 1.60.26*

Not managed through Apple subscriptions. The ability to cancel is broken in the app. Charged and developer won’t respond to emails. Have to file a fraud charge.

### 1/5 — App is hard to cancel

*2026-07-27, version 1.60.26*

Doesn’t Bill assume directly

### 1/5 — No just no

*2026-07-23, version 1.60.26*

I have ADHD and I thought it could help, but no . It started off good but after a month it didn’t let me do the chat thing unless I had a free trial and the yearly trial is £60 , the three month trial is £23 and the yearly one with a family sharing it’s £80 a year . unbelievable

### 1/5 — Will forget all your conversations

*2026-07-23, version 1.60.26*

I use this app daily for five weeks working through a couple issues. Logged in today and it said it had no recollection of anything that we’ve been discussing about over the last five weeks. He wanted me to start back from day one. I’m not sure if that’s a programming issue or “a functionality “issue but I think for this type of application that’s stealing as an emotional coach, that’s a pretty poor save affairs if you’re asking a user to completely restate the entire story of something that they’ve been working with every day. There’s definitely much better programs out there in this niche.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Yes

*2026-08-14, version 1.60.27*

This app is worth the money. It’s been such a great resource added onto my therapy. Inbetween sessions I can get with this app and feel more validated and understanding of what I’m feeling. Recommend 100%

### 5/5 — One of the best investments in my mental, emotional health

*2026-08-12, version 1.60.27*

I’ve had this app for like three years now and the annual subscription for two. I’m not normally one to get subscriptions, but this has probably been the best spent money for my emotional and mental health. Easily the most impactful app on my phone.

I went through the anxiety, positivity, and confidence journeys initially. Now I just chat with Kai on a regular and almost daily basis in some seasons. Other features I have appreciated are the techniques and learnings. The techniques include things like gratitude journaling, body scan, and postpone worry until fine. I found many tools to apply to my life situations and they have enriched my life. The learnings are a section designed to train one to notice emotions and sensations. I found this helpful to put words to my experiences.

As someone who doesn’t trust others easily, I tend to rely on myself. Because I haven’t really opened up to people, the chat feature has been a really useful and timely resource (when they rolled it out two years ago) for me to work through a break-up, anxiety, grief, shame, going no contact with my family, and so much more. Another benefit is that the app tracks thought and physical patterns as you chat with Kai. He suggests techniques as he chats with you, as well as offers compassion that hits just right.

The app is well designed, and I hardly have loading issues.

(Side note: it does tend to have a short term memory which is annoying since free ChatGPT has a longer term memory than this AI bot.)

### 5/5 — Worried about worrying?

*2026-08-01, version 1.60.26*

This app is amazing. Downloaded it today and it’s really worth it.

*2026-07-21, version 1.60.26*
