Which is why I needed a remote in the first place I lost my remote and changed my Wi-Fi carrier. So this did not work for me. **Developer response:** Dear Can I know what is your TV brand and model? Yes, it needs Wi-Fi to connect, if you have not setup Wi-Fi on TV, you can press some physical buttons on TV, generally it is in the bottom of the TV or the back of the TV, with these buttons you can connect with Wi-Fi first, then you can control with the apps. ### 1/5 — Ads in a remote control app?! *2025-11-23* HEADS UP. Every time you open the app it has a pop ups to buy a monthly subscription to A REMOTE CONTROL APP. If you don’t mind X-ing out of ads every time you open it up, then it’s the perfect remote for you. This was a lie. It promoted online that you could use it without Wi-Fi so I paid for it when to use the remote and it says I need to have my phone and TV connected to the same Wi-Fi well I wouldn’t need to use this remote if I had an original remote and could connect to my Wi-Fi like that. The whole point of me needing a remote on my phone is because my controller is lost and I need to connect my TV to our new Wi-Fi box **Developer response:** Dear You need to connect the TV with Wifi first, as far as we tested, most TV can control with the button on TV also, try to find the D-Pad menu in your tv, most of them are in the back of TV or bottom, once you find it, you can connect the TV with wifi. And once you have the Wi-Fi, you can use AI Remote to control it. I could not get it to work properly and cancelled it after the free trial era. I find out they have continued to charge my credit card $10.69 for the last 14 weeks for a total of $149.66. I could buy a tv for that price! Apple should pull this app from their App Store. It’s a scam! ### 1/5 — Artificial stupidity *2026-02-25* I was seduced by the rating. This is a Poorly Conceived App. I’d hoped for multiple layouts. - believing AI will deliver a quality user interface is Dangerously Naive. - believing AI knows better what I want than I do is stupid. - believing developers know better what I want than I do is arrogant. I hate the bright red selection star. I really hate the click when I press a button. There should be a prominent APPS button. The fixed buttons are too restrictive. I’m controlling a smart tv, and I don’t want to hunt for the DirecTV app, which is my primary source: broadcast channels plus streaming channels such as ESPN(s), MS-NOW, and others. I also have Apple TV, which is where Formula 1 races will be shown. Half the time they don’t work, or you have some sort of issues quite often. As soon as I downloaded this it worked pretty much right away. Do you need to pay…yes, but I think it is extremely worth it. I do wish the developer would add an option for Lifetime License.
