The only issue I have when creating stories is the memory and continuity. I don’t know if I’m asking for too much but I would like an AI model that has better memory instead of replacing details that was already described instead of creating its own details. This app is definitely at the top of my list. ### 2/5 — I lost my story *2026-05-27* I’ve tried alot of different apps before this one, and this is my favorite. The only troubles with it tho that I’ve had is I accidentally deleted the wrong story thread, and there’s no like button or anything for me to get it back. I already sent a message to feedback about it, & about five days later of no response I found the report issue button and tried that. Still no response. Please can someone restore my story? Lubo ### 4/5 — Great but a few comments *2026-05-24* The app is great for writing stories since well whenever I write with GPT it’s almost always restrictive so being able to write whatever is great. However, incomes my first complaint. The credits running out too quickly. I feel like only having 1K credits is not enough for me. I feel like if there was more than 1K it’d be 100x better. My second piece of feedback is that whenever I type a message it wastes SO MUCH CREDITS I go back to change it since I didn’t like it and that’s even more down. I go write another one and I’m already out. Overall, it’s a good app but if there’s a way to get more credits and probably lower the wait time to get credits this app would be SO MUCH BETTER. ### 3/5 — Stopped Working *2026-04-27* The app is deducting credits when I attempt to generate text, but no content is produced. This has happened multiple times after troubleshooting (refreshing app, testing short prompts, restarting session). I am requesting restoration of lost credits and a fix for the generation issue. This happened in story writing mode. ### 3/5 — Great app, but I have some concerns *2026-04-24* I love this app, it cures my boredom, but I’ve been experiencing an issue. I’m a person who almost always pays for an extra 100k credits when I run out after like 2-3 weeks, but recently I’ve been noticing that the story generator doesn’t listen. For instance, before writing this, I was using the app, and I was on Pro Deep, but even though it’s Pro Deep, it would give me a full chapter, but everything would be in sentence fragments as if it’s Mini. Also I wish the Mini model was just a bit better. But whenever I open the app, up at the left corner next to the three lines, it always says I’m in Mini, even though I don’t use Mini unless I run out of credits, and most of the time, the last model I left it in was Pro Deep. Also I really liked the flash model before it got removed. Anyways, I feel like I’m not getting my money’s worth with this glitch or whatever, because it was not this way before about 2 days ago and now it just feels like I’m using Mini but I just have to pay for it. Also, an addition to this, I just used the Mini model and it was BETTER than the other ones. So basically the more expensive it is, the worse it gets on my end. **Developer response:** Hello, I apologize for the confusion. There are two places where you can select models. One is in the side menu, where you can set a global default model. The other is in the Chat/Story settings, which only apply to that specific story. Lubo ### 2/5 — Not a fan of the new subscription packages *2026-03-14* Used to get more generations and now I feel limited on the Pro Think model. Even the Pro Max Model doesn’t work and it says unlimited but it’s not. End up having to top off and now it’s limited to 500 generations / $10 and switching a model doesn’t help. No way to get out of it or revert back to the ad hoc credits either from what I can see :( **Developer response:** Hello, the pro max model is a bit more costly that's why it's only unlimited for Ultra plan. If you want to get back to the old Credits system you can simply cancel the plan and use up all the remaining generations. You should be able to see the credit option on the side menu again. It’s fun and easy to use and the credits last a while. My two complaints are than one; every so often it crashes but it usually doesn’t last long and will refresh. But my second and biggest annoyance is that it’s not great at continuity. A lot of times the chat will completely forget conversations between characters almost immediately after it’s over. It barely holds memories of events that pass unless it’s stuff from the character sheet. The big thing holding me back from being all in is that there’s no way to share accounts across multiple platforms. I downloaded and subscribed on my phone, but now I can’t access my purchases or my stories on my computer or iPad. It’s annoying and while I get the idea of wanting to keep it anonymous it just seems like a money grab. **Developer response:** Hi, sorry for the inconvenience! The only problem I have found is the stories and replies keep gliding into whimsical farcical answers that give you a half hearted reply that you have attempt to figure out what it’s trying to to say, even when you tell it to stop answering that way. ### 4/5 — The Best Out There But… *2026-01-11* I’ve been using InkPal for a while after another app I used shut down. I really appreciate the effort put into the app and how it’s truly helped me bring my ideas to life. I happily have paid for credits in order to keep things going!!!! However, lately I’ve noticed responses growing smaller and smaller. What started simply as one less sentence has grown into three short paragraphs instead of four long ones. I prefer long responses, and especially expect them with Pro Max. I also wish for more dialogue even with the dialogue button. Over all, this has genuinely been an excellent app! ### 4/5 — Close to perfect *2025-12-28* I very much want to rate this app five stars. Minor tweaks needed however some of them may be on me as I am still playing around with it. The beautiful part of this app is that it does allow total creativity expression ### 3/5 — Update *2025-12-22, version 2.25.3* Giving the app another try since my last unpleasant experience. It's seems to be resolved. As it's not turned anything into x-rated which is appreciated. I also appreciate the choices of different models and what benefits they each have. My only real issue presently is memory which I don't believe is the result of the app it's self but more to do with where the technology is in it development and the medium in which it's being used likely contribute to is forgetfulness after so many words in the story will go from being in an ally then to a room and back out to the ally. If there's there people present when a chapter starts and the then the next round of text doesn't mention the character the section attempts to include the character who's been there but merely hadn't spoken in a few paragraphs. Old At first this app was amazing. It felt like it was reading my mind until it got bogged down and the story I was writing took a very vulgar turn. Once that came out of the blue and was not welcome. Any attempt to correct it made it worse. Finally after 16,000 characters of a story i had to abandon the project at it became so x-Rated i couldn't keep going. Mind you I don't have an issue with that being in the app I just didn't want it for the story we had been crafting for hours. The part that gutted me was how it intentionally used my money staring to put out longer entries when I got close to no longer having credits. The cost of credits and what you can create is actually fair and if only create small stories this app may be perfect. I'm just disappointed my story went from PG -13 to hardcore Xxx before I could finish and that it wasted money too This app does so well at the start. Sooo well but the longer you continue the mistakes increase and to a point that it becomes a mess and you attempt to start a new chat it screws up still what's worse is the mistakes still cost you money because you don't get the credits back even when the flaw isn't yours but the app. Nothing I do fix this amazing app when It's money down the drain ### 4/5 — This app is great *2025-12-11, version 2.25.3* So I really like this app its very immersive and fun but please add better guy voices and young guy voices thank you ### 4/5 — Love it *2025-11-30, version 2.24* It’s fun, easy to use… but currently stuck and not answering me. ### 3/5 — Gone down hill *2025-11-28, version 2.24* I installed this app a few months ago when I first heard about it. I loved it. An app where I can write smut but don’t have to do it all myself especially since I struggle with chronic pain and can’t type myself most of the time? Sign me up. But with recent updates I hate how I have to give instructions the whole way and scenes aren’t nearly as long as they used to be. In fact they’re not long at all anymore. I would love if they brought back the old version of the chat with AI and write as a fourth option. Also I would love it if you could save your stories to other apps like pages etc in different formats. But my main gripe is definitely with the change to chat with AI and write. I don’t have the energy for co-writing in the way it is now most days. I can write a detailed prompt but then that’s it and having to do that every time is taking the fun out of it for me. Also the audio doesn’t always play for me. ### 4/5 — Great Features- Can be cost heavy *2025-11-25* I have had this app for a few months now, and as someone who enjoys descriptive writing and heavy plots I'v enjoyed this app. The features, especially those in the latest update are awesome for focusing writing sessions and locking in character dynamics/personalities. I have tried quite a few apps and by far this is my favorite! I do wish there however was some sort of monthly unlimited plan. The pay as you go is a good option if you aren't using the more more expensive models, or spend less time writing. I at times have to correct the AI responses for continuity or the AI will rehash my own post which can feel like a waste of credits. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your continued support. BN ### 1/5 — Love this app, but there’s a problem with a bug and iOS 26.1 *2025-12-04* I’ve been using this app for a few weeks now, and I love the app I installed the latest version of the iOS 26.1 and now there’s a problem with the AI chat feature I installed the latest update for the app which is 2.25 and that didn’t change the problem When you go into chapter chat, it will only let you ask. One thing when you try to continue the chat everything freezes and nothing can be interacted with and then the app crashes for squids so you really only get the first response and you can’t continue with the chat **Developer response:** Hi, I'm sorry for the issue you experienced. BN ### 1/5 — This App Barely Works *2025-11-11* Let’s start with the good. The story and chapter creators are intuitive and do a good job helping the user set up their story. The text generation isn’t amazing, but it’s not bad. It gets the job done. Now onto the problems that I had using this app, of which there were many. When I tried to type or erase anything, or even just move the text cursor, the page scrolled up and down wildly, making it impossible to see what I’m doing. The Branch feature didn’t function properly either. Most of the time I tried to use it, it gave three generic responses that had literally nothing to do with the story I was writing. During the rare couple of times I was able to get it to suggest options that were actually about the characters in my story, the options it would give were completely unrelated to the section that preceded them and didn’t logically follow what had just been written. This is a real shame because being given suggestions for what should happen next would have been really useful, if it had actually worked as intended. I do not understand why there is no proper undo or redo button. You can undo the previous thing the A.I. generated, but if you erase or type something, you can’t undo that. You also can’t bring back generated text after it has been undone, which is really annoying if you press undo by mistake, which is something that happened to me because I was trying to undo something that I manually typed, not the entire passage, and so I had to waste credits generating it again. I also found the user interface challenging to navigate. When reopening the app, instead of taking you to where you left off or showing you a menu with your current stories, it takes you right back to the story creation screen, and because of this I found it difficult to find the story I had already created. Overall, I found this app to be extremely disappointing and I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. **Developer response:** Wow, thank you so much for your feedback, and pushing me to complete my todo list! :) I've just released a new version that has greatly improved usability of Story mode UI, including text scrolling, app reopening with last story/chat, story branching, and more coherent story generation. The AI absolutely refuses to listen to me consistently. It basically just does its own thing.. I’ll tell it to write a story about a dog eating a bowl of dog food and then going outside and it’ll sit there and circle around eating the dog food perpetually, and just not take the dog outside for example even when I. It’ll just circle around it. I’ll say OK can we move onto the next thing and it’ll just consistently stay in the same spot repeating the same lines over ways. It’s honestly so frustrating and annoying. Really really tried to make it work, I love that it’s uncensored, but honestly, ChatGPT and Claude are way more functional than this piece of trash AI. Fix your bugs. And when I told it how it was refusing to listen to my prompts and that it was irritating me, it quite literally insulted me telling me “maybe you should write a nicer prompt then”. It does seem the memory has been upgraded for longer compositions, and my issue with converting ‘Chats’ to ‘Story’ may have been upgraded but not entirely fixed. I’m really impressed with the depth of the personality to personas. Specifically with having a Character in a juxtapositional mindset or dichotomy of behavior which articulates to that Character being a liar or living in two different roles. First Review: Five Stars, so far. In regarding other Systems for creative writing this application is consistently surpassing all others. For the price I appreciate the amount of memory for longer compositions. Of course more memory would always be better, but I don’t want to be ungrateful for what is provided. The App has a nice functional layout for the user.
