IIRC is now “Recqll AI” - Also no dark mode? *2024-09-20* Listen, there’s nothing wrong with machine learning at all. It’s been used for decades and it’s a giant part of why and how the internet and software works. Rebranding to Recall AI is silly and only pandering to the market bubble that’s currently barreling towards a pop. Sad to see this well though out app travel down that road as well. Also there’s no dark mode that I can find on this app. Maybe the only app I use regularly that doesn’t have it. Maybe focus on user experience instead of marketing. The developer is responsible as well. ### 5/5 — The Only Study Tool You’ll Ever Need! *2024-04-17* Outstanding execution of an educational app! I often find that apps aimed to improve your knowledge are often tailored specifically for education but IIRC offers solutions for various learning styles on subjects that you choose! I often struggle to remember concepts after a period of time and this is perfect for me to jog my memory on forgotten content in an engaging way that suits me. I’ve recently been trying to use ChatGPT to provide summaries to help me remember but it just doesn’t have the necessary tools that IIRC provides to engrain that information. This AI provides me with TTS for summaries, mnemonics for helping me learn to remember and generated quizzes on my chosen content. It’s a well designed and functioning app. Since, it’s reliant on an LLM if I’m not wrong, sometimes there can be shortcomings while extracting info from the content, but it is in no way a hurdle to actually study/revise. When I see it, I immediately think of an RC car which is kind of annoying. And the icon itself should convey what the app is as well. Just suggestions as the app itself is awesome and a great idea that works well. But just feel that the name of the app and the app’s icon design could use some updating and refining. Keep up the good work! Update: Found a bug when creating a summary of content. The app is no longer making paragraphs and instead when there is supposed to be a paragraph the text is pushed up against the period without a space.
