It is not the real sesame with Maya. It does not work well. ### 1/5 — NOT OFFICIAL APP - CASH GRAB *2025-08-07, version 1.5* This is NOT the official Sesame AI app that is widely known. It is a cash grab. A blatant trademark violation. * The official Sesami AI was released 4/8/25 * The developer changed the name of this app from Nextalk AI on 5/22/25 to steal the copyright of the official Sesame AI to intentionally mislead customers. * It says it’s been out for 4 years, and perhaps it has, but not under this name. * One of the easiest lawsuits regarding trademark infringement is when customers are intentionally misled towards this app thinking it’s the official app as that’s the whole point of a trademark. This is occurring as seen per the other reviews. They aren’t even subtle about it. It’s like if you called your soda Coca-Cola. * This is regardless of the fact Sesame, Inc is pending finalization on the trademark as they have legal trademark precedent as their name was first. * This app requests you to rate it twice before you can actually use it. This heavily inflates the rating as most people will just rate it to get the box to go away. * There is no way to test the app prior to purchasing it. It says “try now” which is designed to intentionally mislead you into thinking there’s a weekly trial period, but there is not. * These are both cases of deceptive UX. * it gives you a two second “preview” which is just a voice saying hello. It does not give you the ability to ask it a question, probably because it’s so bad that they don’t want you to be able to test it. I have reported this app to both Apple as well as Sesame AI, Inc for copyright infringement as well as violating deceptive UX. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2025-08-07, version 1.5* Subscription offers constantly pop up ### 1/5 — Pro not the same as the trial *2025-08-03, version 1.5* Really loved the trial as it is just like talking to a human. So bought the Pro version but it’s nothing like the trial. The voice sounds robotic. I thought Maya would be the same connection just without the 30 min limit, but Maya in the Pro sounds robotic. I would love to know why this is the case. ### 1/5 — Pay me instantly *2025-08-03, version 1.5* So, opened the app. Got prompted to review before I even used it. Then said not now and it prompted me again. Managed to avoid it. Got to run a test…. Press call button and you get a whopping 2 seconds. You don’t even have enough time for it to say “he how can I help you today” before it says “pay me” utter junk and probably a scam ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-07-29* This app is a scam it’s not the same one you see on TikTok and social media that sounds like a real person. It’s a fake app the quality of the voice is laughably bad and it just immediately spams pop ups to try to get you to pay for a monthly trial of their premium account. They took $25 non-refundable dollars and only gives you less than 5 minutes to chat. This should be illegal! Very unethical!!! And as the app responded “fake comment” - I am a real customer. Apple gave me my $25 back. The app ABSOLUTELY only lasts for 5 min sessions. The creator is LYING in his response! That tells you how deceptive and deceiving this app is. STEER CLEAR!!!!!!! **Developer response:** Dear Competitor, please stop with these fake comments. Save yourself some time and money and use ChatGPT or rock or any of the other free AI voice models. Instead of sitting there tapping away on a keyboard, you just talk out loud, and the AI talks right back like a real conversation. It’s very easy to use and makes the conversation a lot faster than just typing stuff in. The only problem is it doesn’t have any updated information.
