Think it’s time to move banks. ### 1/5 — Behind the times *2025-08-15, version 4.32.1* First trust is so behind the times the app is very basic and can not add a new payee without card reader, it’s 2025!! ### 1/5 — Absolute rubbisj *2025-08-03, version 4.32.1* Ever since aib took control of First Trust Bank it has just got worse and worse. The app being a perfect example. It takes so long to open due to "extra security" and to acknowledge that i need to approve an online payment, that i've been timed out on my payment by the time the request appears on the aib app. Been intending to switch banks for ages but going to do it next week! I recently changed my iPhone and the app asked me to use a card reader and insert my credit card…who still has a credit card reader?…fortunately I had, and was able to jump through the AIB hoops, but that wasn’t enough, they then wanted a security update before I could access my account. Ok I tried that, but then we just went round in circles with the app saying security update failed!!! Try to update and keep getting technical issues message. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-04-17, version 4.31.3* Developers rolling out updates but not fixing the actual issues that everyone is having. Easily the worst online banking app I’ve ever seen, embarrassing. ### 1/5 — Unusable since last update *2025-04-02, version 4.31.2* My mobile app has been unusable since the last update 4 months ago. It constantly tries to update but says Authentication Failed then gives no option to work to fix this. I see someone posted a very complicated solution here which seemingly would work but I have neither the know-how nor the patience to work through this. Instead I will just let this account die and move my money to a different bank. ### 2/5 — Terrible bank *2024-12-29, version 4.31.2* The app itself is okay, usable and not overly hard to navigate. The problem is the bank itself. This is the slowest bank I have ever used, taking hours to do transfers compared to other banks’ instantaneous transfers. If you already have an account with AIB then you’ll need the app but otherwise avoid ### 1/5 — Fail! *2024-10-11, version 4.31.1* It states I can’t use the app until I update security, I tap “update”, it states the update failed due to technical issue. Get it sorted - this app is how I bank!
