### 1/5 — Garbage

*2022-08-12, version 1.0*

You’d think with all of the money these companies earn from millennials and other people foolish enough to believe in the idea of college being worth it, they’d come up with a better product let alone a better website. Garbage. Absolute garbage.

### 1/5 — Access to account

*2022-08-03, version 1.0*

Have been trying for a month no communication from them. I’ve emailed, called … nothing. Now it says that it’s not to be found or moved…. What? So how ami to check my account, information, anything if I can’t get in. What they go wait till it’s time to make payments and then want to talk.

### 1/5 — Can’t even enter my password

*2022-07-22, version 1.0*

Unbelievably poor app design. Do you even do quality checks or any sort of bug fixes?

### 1/5 — Lazy, No Effort App

*2022-07-04, version 1.0*

This app is not a native app. It’s simply their website wrapped in an app. It's no different than going to their website in a web browser. There is no way for it to remember your account credentials, and you will be logged out every time you close the app.

### 1/5 — Front End Developers Are as useful as a dead battery

*2022-06-15, version 1.0*

The front end developers of this app need to be excommunicated from ever working in software development again. A kindergartner could design a more functional UI. Aidvantage should be PAYING ME for putting me through this user experience. Because most student borrowers are captive users to this app, you can tell that the brain dead developers of this app put in ZERO EFFORT to making this experience easier. My recommendation to the developers of this app. Take out a student loan, go to college, and learn BASIC FUNDAMENTALS of user interfaces. Then come back to this app to pay your loan off and realize how worthless you truly are.

### 1/5 — Couldn’t be much worse

*2022-06-01, version 1.0*

This app is laughable in 2022. It’s clunky and essentially operates as a webpage in the app. Ugly, not easily navigable, lots of pop ups and random junk in the way of what you actually are trying to do. Two thumbs way down.

### 1/5 — Very poor app

*2022-05-04, version 1.0*

This app provides a very important service where security and ease of use are paramount. This app is a joke and doesn’t successfully do either. Clearly little care or thought has been put into this app that contains such personal info.

### 1/5 — Terrible. Don’t waste your time

*2022-04-26, version 1.0*

My dog could make a better app than this piece of junk. You’re better off using the website.

### 1/5 — Need update

*2022-04-16, version 1.0*

Downloaded the app, even after registering, app does not appear in cellphone system settings. If I get a notification I will be available to view by anyone even when cell is locked. Big security issue.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t have good UI

*2022-04-07, version 1.0*

It just directs you to their website. That’s it. I came over from FedLoan. If you’re expecting the same features you’ll be disappointed. I know I am!!

### 1/5 — Sad

*2022-04-05, version 1.0*

This app is pathetic. How can you be responsible for millions in student loan debt for thousands of people and put out an app this bad. Barely functional. Can’t navigate to and from inbox, can’t make a payment, no billing statement provided, and chaotic page organization to name a few.

### 1/5 — Barely functional

*2022-04-01, version 1.0*

App is reminiscent of apps designed in the early 2010s. Basically an app that is just a link to the mobile version of their website, it’s hard to navigate the pages and actually get stuff done. Probably my biggest problem with the app is the lack of Face or Touch ID, you literally have to put in your password every time! And god forbid you get your password wrong once because if you do you have to enter your social security number and birthdate to login (it just doesn’t feel right for an app to ask for my social security number). With a more dedicated app UI and better login methods such as Face ID or Touch ID the app could be way better. But as it is, honestly you are probably better off using your web browser.

### 1/5 — Needs updated

*2022-03-25, version 1.0*

This app is out of date. Its just the website in app form (which the website is not very good either). Not user friendly and needs major upgrades.

### 1/5 — This is NOT an app

*2022-03-23, version 1.0*

Like another reviewer said, this is not an app. This is the web interface for a smartphone. You can save yourself the trouble and not download this. When you try to log in, it requires you enter in all of your information again. You’re better off not downloading this false advertised app wannabe and just use the website.

### 1/5 — just use the website

*2022-03-23, version 1.0*

There is no user friendliness to this app. I would suggest just not taking up the data storage on your phone and using the website because there is no difference. Agreed with all previous ratings that this app needs to be updated with the times, especially with switching from FedLoan which was so easy to navigate and much more convenient. No Face ID? It’s 2022, y’all!

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2022-03-23, version 1.0*

App does not work. Also is not even an app, just the website. Hope the developers can actually make an app for this.

### 1/5 — Not an App

*2022-03-18, version 1.0*

Agree with the majority of these comments that this isn’t even an app, it’s just the website interface on a smartphone. It’s frustrating having to switch from MyFedLoan which had a great app with an amazing user interface to this junk. Aidvantage, now that you have a larger amount of users from MyfedLoan please consider upgrading your app to be more like my fedloans app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update Update Update

*2022-11-23, version 1.0*

It’s 2022, certain things should be standard by now (face recognition) and among others. The whole point of a app is for ease of use. This ain’t it!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2022-09-05, version 1.0*

This app is basically useless. You always have to re-enter your personal info to get in and when you click on anything it goes to a blank white screen and freezes. Their website isn’t much better. It’s immensely disappointing since everyone and their brother expects individuals to pay on their student loans. Well, it’s kind of hard to when you can’t use your servicer’s website or app to view basic information.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage. Fedloans, I miss you!

*2022-09-05, version 1.0*

This is not an app, just garbage. I’m dreading actually having to use the website to make payments if they can’t even be bothered to make a functional app. Fedloans set the bar high. Very disappointed and not looking forward to January

### 1/5 — Horrible.

*2022-08-24, version 1.0*

Half my screens are white and blank. Nothing I try to click on will open. Looks like a link that you open in safari, not an actual app.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2022-08-24, version 1.0*

This app is embarrassingly awful. It legitimately concerns me that a company with this app is in charge of millions of dollars worth of loans. Please hire someone who actually knows how to develop apps to overhaul this app because it’s near impossible to even pay my loans at this point.

### 1/5 — Not Happy With This Change

*2022-08-24, version 1.0*

I was moved from Navient to AIDvantage. So far I’m the last few months, I am very unsatisfied. The app hardly works and takes forever to get anywhere within, if I’m even able to open up the app versus sitting on a blank screen.

### 1/5 — Poor design & inconsistent

*2022-08-24, version 1.0*

The app barely works. Typically just loads to a white screen. If entry to app is successful, the content formatting is done so poorly. It reminds me when apps were still new and ux designers just scrunched their webpage into an app and called it good.

### 1/5 — Crap

*2022-08-24, version 1.0*

App is horrible, constant crashes and lags and is not user friendly at all. With the amount of people now going to be using Aidvantage, you’d think they’d have the tech to support it. Does not make me feel secure

### 1/5 — Basically a mobile website from 2008

*2022-08-23, version 1.0*

There is no FaceID support. Additionally, the layout and functionality of the app is reminiscent of the old mobile websites from the early 2000s.

If you want to see what a competent, modern student loan management app looks like, look at the FedLoan Servicing App.

### 1/5 — Entirely Unable to Log In

*2022-08-18, version 1.0*

For the last 5-6 months I’ve been locked out of my Aidvantage account whenever I try to log into the mobile app (it gets disabled), both in computer and mobile, for using the credentials that get me into my account regularly. I have to throw away work time or break time to get it unlocked each time because their service is only open during business hours. I’ve never been able to log into the app.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works

*2021-12-31, version 1.0*

Almost didn’t download because of all the negative feedback, but I had no problems logging in or updating my contact information through the app. Simple app that seemed to work fine for me.

### 4/5 — Fine so far

*2022-02-26, version 1.0*

App works fine so far. Leaving this review to counter all the negative ones. Only thing that could improve is the visual layout/design. Not as attractive as Fedloan but definitely usable

### 4/5 — It’s Working Now

*2022-01-04, version 1.0*

I see a lot of 1 star reviews from December. I just downloaded it and it worked exactly as expected. No loading issues. They must’ve worked out the kinks. No complaints here so far.

### 3/5 — Room for improvement

*2022-04-06, version 1.0*

The app has more features and functionality than a banana, but that does not make it a useful way to review and manage information from your smartphone... which is the point of a mobile application. It's not as bad as some reviews suggest, but the UI makes it frustrating to use.

It would help if:
- Face ID / Touch ID were an option
- Text fields, typeface size, and line wrapping were optimized for smartphone screens
- Tapping in entry fields simply placed the cursor there instead of jumping to the bottom of the mobile website (which this app basically is)

I'm not an app developer. Maybe there are perfectly legitimate reasons for the app to be this way. But the desktop website is actually easier to use, so there could be some room for improvement on the app.

### 2/5 — Okay for Balance Check & Payment Only

*2022-10-01, version 1.0*

You can quickly make a payments/payment allocations or view loan balances; however, it is better to log in using a web browser if you’re searching for other info including contact info. Clicking on any info links that lead to other pages in the app proves to be difficult to navigate. You can’t navigate back to the app homepage once you click on any link to other pages. You have to force close the app session and re-login to get to the app account summary page. The same applies when you click their info links like Contact Us.

### 2/5 — Hard to do anything other than viewing loan details

*2022-06-02, version 1.0*

Most frustrating is when viewing correspondence, there’s no way to exit and go back to the previous page without restarting the app.

### 2/5 — No face recognition?

*2022-02-16, version 1.0*

App needs to get with the times and incorporate face recognition to log in. The app, like the website, requires you to enter user ID, password, SSN and birthdate to log in, but on the app you have to click in each field to type in it, whereas the website moves the cursor automatically between fields after completing the prior one. Small inconvenience yes, but totally fixable. I thought the point of having an app was to make things easier, but it actually takes longer to log in on the app than through the mobile webpage.

### 2/5 — Just as barely-functional as the old Navient app

*2022-02-06, version 1.0*

For all the money these people get from us, you’d think they could afford a better app developer. Couldn’t upload any documents because the file selection screen would not launch… just a blank page I couldn’t navigate away from.
