It can get a smell. After fully cleaning, I use a little cat enzyme spray and then wipe off with a clean wet microfiber cloth. It does drop from my app sometimes. The cat weight won’t register correctly when she urinates because she will prop her front legs on the rim. Other than that it’s been great for us. We have owned it for about 4 years with no issues. ### 3/5 — Loved it until it completely stopped working *2026-04-25* The app was pretty user friendly and a nice feature for me as a first time cat owner. Tracks weight, usage, etc. After about 7 months, I was logged out automatically and couldn’t open the app. I kept getting an error message. Saw others have the same problem in some forums and it seems to be correlated to a recent iOS update. It stops you from selecting another cat box. ### 3/5 — I really like this box *2026-01-04* I have two boxes one is from a different brand and the app is absolutely terrible but the box is great. The meowant box 02 is ok. The app is amazing. it has a few deficiencies like you can’t remove any low weights. To me that’s minimal at least this app notifies me every time they go to the bathroom. And I get to have a name with their weight. It’s not a $700 box so you can’t expect perfection but it does the job. I’m happy with it. I’ve just noticed that two or three times now it didn’t clean after my cat left the box so I had to do it manually. I’ve only had the box for about four weeks now, but I will update this review if I can. Update: the app is terrible. I cannot get it to work. I keep on getting a network issue. I’ve tried resetting everything and I can’t get it to work. The box itself is great but the reason for the three stars is because of the app. Meowant PLEASE FIX THE APP. ### 2/5 — Strange App *2025-12-27, version 2.1.7* LitterBox itself is great but the app sucks. Like others said it registers the cat barely stepping in with front paws as a new weight of 2lbs on a 10lb cat. My boyfriend registered first and shared the box with me so now my account isn’t allowed to edit anything, just view usage. Which stinks because I would like to be able to identify with cat used it as the app learns. I would suggest the app to consider a customizable selection “DARK MODE” like current apps! When you first buy it, you get get everything you need to get you fully started- which is a better experience. My reason for the 3 star is the App. It’s very easy to use however; when entering each cats weight- examples: one is 10lbs & one is 15lbs. Both have used several times and it reads their weight 2.2lbs or 2.6lbs. Super off and now I don’t know who is who now? I wish they would get with the current times and fix the problem of connecting to the internet. It will only connect to 2.4GHz. I am able to tell which cats are regularly using the litter box. I like that I can use the app remotely to clean the litter box or level the litter. The only feature the app doesn’t offer is the ability to delete the no -useful device actions it records in the “Cat” usage. I clean the canister once a day and sometimes I level the litter and I wish I could delete those instances from the log because it tries to assign it to a cat every time. Maybe in a future upgrade? ### 5/5 — great box *2026-01-08, version 2.1.7* This is by far the best auto litterbox nive used. It is quite and it is so easy to clean and use. My cats live it. ### 5/5 — Simple, Functional, and Surprisingly Useful *2025-12-17* The AIR PET companion app for the Meowant litter box doesn’t come with every bell and whistle, but it’s intentionally streamlined to focus on what actually matters. It offers functionality beyond simply emptying the litter box. You can set parameters for automatic emptying, either on a schedule or after a set delay following each use. The app also provides detailed usage data, including how often the box is used, the duration of each use, and daily and weekly statistics for frequency and time spent. This information is genuinely useful and well-presented. I only have one cat and have noticed some discrepancies in the recorded weight—usually a variance of a couple of pounds. That said, if you weigh yourself before and after using the bathroom, you’ll notice similar fluctuations, so I attribute this to natural differences before and after elimination rather than a flaw in the system. I’ve seen many complaints about the app using a 24-hour clock, which feels unnecessary given how simple it is to understand. While I also prefer a 12-hour format, I’ve grown to appreciate the 24-hour clock here because it eliminates any ambiguity between day and night, making the chronological log clearer and more precise. Could the app benefit from a UI refresh? Sure. But what it delivers is more than adequate—it focuses on the essentials and does them well. ### 5/5 — Company is Responsive to Customers Needs. *2025-09-19* >18 September 2025< This app is well designed and easy to use. We have had 2 of our boxes for 2 years, the app and the boxes have worked flawlessly. The one time the app didn't update properly was a quick and easy fix, I just Offloaded the app in iPhone (Settings/General/iPhone Storage/AirPet/Offload) and then tapped the icon too reload it. It reconnected immediately with all data intact. Most likely this wasn't AirPet's fault anyway, I had also updated the iOS. (Oldest and most important rule, 1st Reboot.) "Company is Responsive" We have cats, and often we have fosters. I had requested that the app have the capacity for more cat individual cat IDs so we could follow each cat's health and growth via their changing weight. The company responded by increasing the number of cat IDs! Bravo! Thank you for listening! Many companies could learn much from these guys. FYI: We have 4 AirPet/MeoWant enclosed boxes of 2 different designs all connected to the same app without any irritation or drama. The boxes are quiet, reliable, easy to clean, safe/safer than most, and the scales are accurate on level hard floors. (If your weight isn't accurate, set the base on a leveled 24 x 24 x .75" piece of plywood.) Replacement parts are available, and you can purchase 2 years extra warranty to give you a total of 3 years. Unheard of in the industry. Again, two of these guys have already lasted a year longer than our much more expensive insanely inconvenient Robot, if you have cats you know who I ref. ### 5/5 — The first *2025-07-12, version 2.1.2* The most recent ### 5/5 — Very quiet machine *2025-07-05* I’ve had this automatic cat litter for about two years. Lately I’ve had to move the litter box to my bedroom, and it is very quiet so it doesn’t wake me up in the middle of the night. I live in two different cities, and in the other city I jacks different machine, and that one is much noisier. Both machines do their job quite well, but the other one I rate at 4 stars since it’s noisier. ### 5/5 — Repeat buyer *2025-07-04* Loved my first Meowant Litter Box, back to buy a second one. We lost our cat to age and gave away our first box to a friend who is so happy with it even after using it for a year. Three weeks ago our veterinarian called and now we have a new cat, he was rehomed due to his human’s health. 13 years old and was so eager to get in the box, he had used it before I had gotten the waste bag installed! One of the first things I did when he arrived was to order the Meowant Automatic litter box. Works great, just like the first one. Installed the app and now we are set for the future. He is so fascinated with this new technology that he sits in front of it and stops it a number of times as it is trying to make the cleaning cycle. He’ll get bored watching it in a few days. lol. I’ve had the “. . . Robot” and many other automated litter boxes, Meowant is the absolute best. I’m not computer savvy, but this app is easy to install and use!
