### 4/5 — Works well, but can be improved

*2019-04-04*

This works very well even on our restricted school network. I esp. like that I can freeze the frame easily. However, the quality is too good for normal use, and the framerate too low for everyday use (on our network). I‘d love to be able to adjust (reduce) quality to achieve higher frame rates and fill the browser window without zooming out. For some purposes, 1024x768 is good enough, as the projector doesn’t display more anyway.

### 3/5 — Crashing

*2019-02-18, version 1.3*

For some reasons this school year every time I open the app it crashes. It needs like 10 tries before it sticks. Not sure why it’s happening. Used to work flawlessly last year. I use it with my second graders but it’s really unreliable, and takes too much time to work properly.

### 2/5 — Bugged version

*2017-05-05, version 1.3*

Crashing on iPhone 6 after ~10 seconds!

### 3/5 — Crashes on iPodTouch 5g

*2017-02-19, version 1.3*

Every time, a few seconds after opening. Does work OK on iPadPro 9.7" ...

### 4/5 — Works wonderfully, but...

*2016-01-25, version 1.1*

The only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star review (really, it works THAT WELL with minimal lag) is the fact that you have to be on the same WiFi network. For most, this wouldn't be a big deal, but in my school district environment, we have a separate network for our student iPads, and teacher desktops are on LAN, not WAN, rendering this unusable for the purpose I REALLY want to use it for. When/If this gets added, I'll happily share this app with 1000's of my teachers.

### 3/5 — Great, but need improvements

*2014-12-22*

The devices must be in the same wi-fi network to work. It should be in every network, to allow real interconnectivity.

### 4/5 — Using with Cell Data?

*2014-12-07, version 1.1*

Loving the possibilities with this app. Would really like the ability to use with cell data... Only thing keeping it from 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Great idea .... but

*2014-12-05*

It works as described, however it only shows on 1/3 of my screen so I have to scroll the image left and right, plus have to scroll down.

Why is there a large blank space left and right of the image?

### 4/5 — Useful occasionally

*2014-12-05, version 1.1*

I am a teacher and use this app occasionally if I want to show the whole class something that I have handwritten and not had time to scan or type up. The hardest thing is fixing my iPad steady, but the image projected, whilst not fantastically clear, is clear enough for the class to read. For a free app, it serves a useful purpose.

### 5/5 — Air Scanner

*2014-04-09*

Working out so far looking forward explore 🆒👓

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — NÃO COMPREM - USEI 1 MINUTO E QUERO MEU DINHEIRO DE VOLTA

*2020-02-06*

O aplicativo não grava da câmera normal do celular e espelha no computador, é totalmente bugado e trava demais.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2019-03-18, version 1.3*

The idea of this app is awesome, the reality is the app NEVER works. Waste of money.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2017-08-10, version 1.3*

NOT A VIDEO. Several photos are put together as if it's a video.

I'm using this to demonstrate drawing and the frames are choppy, blurred, non existent and beyond slow. Great idea, but... terrible execution. I would not recommend purchasing this app.

### 1/5 — Crashes on launch iOS 10

*2016-12-19, version 1.1*

Have deleted and reinstalled, still no joy.

### 1/5 — Does work port 8082

*2014-12-14*

There is an issue the developer need to app optionality to choose between available ports. By the server.

Hope they fix and update it

### 1/5 — Stop working

*2014-05-15, version 1.1*

Its does not work anymore

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing!

*2014-04-05, version 1.1*

The app never opens up.. Keeps crashing from the beginning! Please fix.

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing!

*2014-04-04, version 1.1*

Unusable!

### 2/5 — Lags and freezes....A LOT!

*2020-04-09, version 1.3*

Was very difficult to use.

### 2/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2020-03-31, version 1.3*

I am a teacher and going through these times trying to work with as many resources I can I cannot have something fail. I spend my own money on apps etc that would improve the quality and the delivery of distance learning or my classroom. I found this application and I was like “yes!” I will gladly pay for something that would ease my teaching while at home. I’ve been trying to record a video to deliver to my students and it crashes so much. It is totally frustrating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Feature Requests

*2016-12-22, version 1.1*

Love the simplicity of the app! Great way to wirelessly stream live video from your iPhone to anyone else on the network.

I have a couple minor feature requests:
- Clicking the IP address should copy it to the clipboard so you can easily paste it into iMessage, email, or wherever.
- you need a small ⓘ letter i that when clicked says "Air Scanner allows people on your same WiFi network to view live video. Have them enter the IP numeric address "123.456.789" into their web browser. Click the lock icon to freeze frame and the bolt icon to turn on your flashlight lighting."
- look into a paid upgrade option to record and share to your server for when you want to broadcast outside your network.

### 5/5 — Really works, surprisingly

*2016-01-26, version 1.1*

Basically, your iOS devices becomes a server, and the page it serves has a constantly refreshing JPG from the camera, about 1 per second. Your browser, on the same network, goes to the iOS devices local IP:Port and starts displaying the JPG feed. It's a bit odd the it's a refreshing JPG instead of a video stream, and it's a little annoying that the image isn't made to fit in the browser viewport using vw/vh units or some other method.

But, it really does work without any app on the other end to receive the images, just a browser window.

### 5/5 — Dope

*2016-01-25, version 1.1*

What would be an added update in the future is if the screen can be put to sleep and the app keep running to preserve battery life

### 5/5 — Very impressive!!

*2016-01-25, version 1.1*

Super simple to use, works flawlessly and displays a high quality image. The potential uses for this app are limitless!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-12-08, version 1.1*

Works as advertised, very fast and reliable scanner app!

### 5/5 — Quality A Must Have

*2014-12-07, version 1.1*

Number 1 on the charts get it don't hesitate best ever

### 5/5 — Fantastic!!!!

*2014-12-06, version 1.1*

Nice idea, simple and very useful

### 5/5 — Sweeet

*2014-12-06, version 1.1*

This app is awesome

### 5/5 — Don't believe the rubbish reviews.

*2014-12-05, version 1.1*

Just installed this while lying in bed just messing about on my iPad. Typed in the web address on my iPhone as told...... Boom, image showing perfectly. If it works on my phone there's no reason why it won't work on anything else. Some people, I feel, just don't understand (very) simple instructions. There may be other apps that do the same but, today, this is free and, on reflection, I might actually have paid for it.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2014-12-05, version 1.1*

This app does exactly what it says it's going to do. No hassle and no setup. You open it, type in the IP address if gives you on your browser, and you see your camera input right there on the computer. This could work very nicely as a closed-circuit camera if you have a spare iPhone.
