Whether it’s reading mail, navigating unfamiliar areas, Aira agents are trained in any tasks you need to get done. No task is too small or too big. Keep up the good work Aira. Since my time as an intern, I've found AIRA extremely helpful in preparing travel lessons when I needed or just wanted more information than I could get on my own. I've also found it helpful troubleshooting technology issues, in shopping, and doing a whole hoast of other things. I would be loss if I didn’t have this app on my iPhone. I totally use it for just about everything. I absolutely enjoy working with whomever takes my call because they are completely patient and quite thorough. Every experience is different and it is awesome every time. I would recommend it to all of my blind friends. Keep up the awesome work. Always a very friendly and helpful person on the other end. They actually assist me multiple times a day testing my blood sugar and helping me find the blood on my fingers this app is a game changer! Some of the things that they can do for you are to help you filled out PDF forms, read mail, shop online and in stores, travel with you, go to airports with you, walk the streets of your town or city with you, point out obstacles, read menus, help you with college work, help you with things that you need to read for your job, read things on the shelves in us or deli, almost anything you need a sighted person to help you with. They can use team viewer to go on your computer or help you with your smart phone. What a wonderful service! GET BE MY EYES FOR FREE WITH SAME SERVICE!! *2023-01-20, version 5.2.1* I feel like I should have received a complementary KY jelly packet after canceling my subscription because I paid for the $30 plan and after canceling I was not given the option to keep the minutes I paid for! I feel bamboozled and robbed too! Aira should truly be ashamed of what they are doing because they have to have some kind of inkling that a lot of blind people don’t have jobs and or not receiving much money every month to pay for these outrageous subscription prices. I think I’m just mad at myself for being tricked into this. It really should be free, or at least much cheaper. Why should visually impaired people pay so much money in order to have equal access to sighted people? I love the agents though, they are extremely friendly and helpful, I just think that the pricing system and ideology should be drastically different. The free options are nice, but they don’t give nearly as much opportunity as one would like. I am able to do things that I could not do before with the help of Ira. I was better able to do some of the things when the glasses were around. I understand why they went away; the hardware used to make them run the phones became obsolete in their updatable capability. I am hoping they’re working on new glasses or something else. There have been some ups and downs with the software of the Ira app itself; but it does get fixed at some point in time. If it ever go if the Ira F ever goes away we will all be back in the dark ages. I hope that the quality will continue to be good and that people will continue to use it. The best thing apart the app about the app or the agents. They are truly great people very helpful very very knowledgeable their training is great.b ### 3/5 — Great service but has a long way to go on certain things *2020-07-02, version 4.1.9* I love using this app during COVID-19 but if you use the five minutes l like doing work emails it takes time to get the team viewer up and running and then you have to speak to the agent and to see if they can type as fast as you’re speaking so you do not go over the five minutes and have to call back to back and I do agree with one of the other reviewer’s that they need to make special Time events like if you want to cook something or take a walk or need help with a longer task if they made the subscription mode like this I wold pay for it . Guest accounts need to have a usage meter to know how many minutes you use because I am trying to lower my usage of this app ### 4/5 — Amazing Resource, Way Too Expensive for the Average Unemployed Blind Person in America. *2022-06-17, version 5.1.1* Ira is undoubtedly a vital resource for those who are blind or visually impaired to complete many life tasks with unprecedented independence. However, with the staggering 70% unemployment rate in the community and an overwhelming amount of folks receiving chump change from the Social Security administration, there should really be a program in place to connect with insurance providers like Medicaid to make the program more accessible to those who cannot afford it. ### 4/5 — Excellent app! *2020-08-11, version 4.1.9* This app is extremely useful and helpful. My one complaint with it is that it’s pretty expensive. Unfortunately that’s just the way it is with a lot of assistive technology or assistive help. Which is annoying considering that disabled people are a lot less employed therefore not bringing in as much money as our able-bodied counterparts. With that being said you do get five minutes free anytime you call. It’s surprising how many tasks you can complete within that time. You can leave reviews and ratings after each call to let Ira know how the agent did. All in all this app is definitely worth the download but maybe not the subscription. PS. There are some businesses like target where you can get unlimited free minutes while you are shopping. Also they do help with inaccessible job application websites. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Excellent service; wished envision glasses worked better *2023-02-22* This is an excellent service, and I am very grateful for it. however, The camera on my iPhone is 10 times better than on my envision glasses, even though they cost three times as much as an iPhone. The light on the iPhone also helps. The envision glasses are much more convenient when traveling, and always available, if you can afford them. don’t get me wrong, I am very grateful for all the hard work and efforts from the folks down at InVision. but, until they improve the camera quality, and maybe mount a light on the Envision Glasses, you will probably get a better experience from Aira with just a newer model, iPhone, and a chest mount. ### 5/5 — Invaluable if you are blind or visually impaired *2022-08-28* I have been using this service for five years now and I’ve watched it grow from strength to strength. The service gives me a huge amount of independence and confidence and allows me to live a full and productive life. Connecting with the professionally trained agents is simple and the tasks you can perform with the help of the agent is limitless. Everything from cooking to navigating, reading to working, computer troubleshooting, maintenance and DIY the tasks and possibilities are endless. App is simple to use and intuitive with great customer service should you have any questions.
