I’m currently in South Korea and have been completely stranded because the app is stuck in a nonstop demo loop with no way to use my card. There is no workaround. The only button I’m allowed to press is “FAQ,” which is useless when the issue is that I literally cannot authenticate or pay for anything. There’s no option to request help, no alternate authentication method, no special PIN system — nothing. I had to restart my phone, delete and reinstall the app, and still got nowhere. This is unacceptable for something that people depend on for essential daily transactions. I’m genuinely considering switching away from Capital One entirely because this integration is so unreliable. AirKey needs to fix this immediately. Unfortunately, every time I made an online purchase they would make me verify it using this app, and while it worked at first, one day it just stopped. Therefore, EVERY SINGLE TIME I needed to buy something online, I was unable to. Vatican tickets, colosseum tickets, reservation fees, etc. I couldn’t even call capital one about it because I had gotten a UK number, and they DO NOT LET YOU even speak to someone if your number doesn’t match a card. Such an unbelievably stupid, frustrating system. Really shows how much they care about their customers. ### 1/5 — Great in theory, terrible in execution *2025-03-02* It’s not often that I need to use AirKey to verify a transaction. Most of the time when I DO need to verify a transaction however, it’s because I’m trying to purchase a foreign product or service using an online storefront WHILE I AM IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. Unfortunately (I guess because of Capital One’s anti-fraud rules) this app WILL NOT WORK while you are in a country outside of the United States! Tried to use this for a simple capital one purchase overseas. 20 euros ffs. The app was useless. Placed card on screen and then nothing. Gave up and asked my son to pay another way 🤦‍♂️ ### 1/5 — Will NOT work, no customer service. *2026-05-09* Absolutely the worse app I have ever used. I missed out on timed international purchases because the app would not scan my card. I spent a good hour to position my card in every which way to no avail. No alternative to verification offered, no customer service, no support whatsoever. Will not keep this card. What a disappointment Capital One, you can do better. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-05-06* I am literally switching to a new credit card company because the Airkey feature is so abysmal. I moved to the UK and was told my card would be fully functional here, which it was 10 years ago. False. Now, it is not possible to make any online purchases or even pay my bills or part of my tuition, because Airkey is required yet literally does not WORK in the UK. To make basic payments, I have to go into the app store and switch my country to America, input a family member's info, and THEN use Airkey before switching BACK to the UK and inputting all my info so I can use my phone. Don't tell me this is an international card then disable that feature with your own awful app. ### 1/5 — Glitchy *2026-05-06, version 1.1.12* This app needs major work. Make sure that you make safari your default browser then good luck!
