First drivers license a was not and option but was able to upload my passport (only reason not a 1). There are now services available to add my airlines or global entry or tsa. After spending over 30 minutes taking a selfie, scan the passport and chip, I only found out that my passport is not eligible. It doesn’t say why. Deleting the app. Used the Jumio website instead. (Offered on the Alaska Airlines app) Worked in 10 seconds. PS. Had used it a year ago and it worked. Reinstalling it as it would no longer use facial recognition to sign in. So had to delete the app and start over. Most common phone in the world, but now I’ve wasted 45 minutes because of course it must be me doing something wrong. But when it doesn’t work, there aren’t any tips or help to figure it out. Tried it every which way. Super frustrating. Better to stand in line at the airport. Shame on the airlines for trying to offload their work on to their customers. ### 2/5 — Airside app does not work for older pass *2025-02-01, version 3.24.0* This does not work for older passports without a chip. There is no option to enter information without the chip, so it is very frustrating! ### 1/5 — Utter Garbage *2025-01-30, version 3.24.0* I repeatedly entered my vaccination info. Every time, it changed the dates that I'd entered to one day before the date I entered. I repeatedly erased them and re-entered the correct dates. Sure, I could and did enter one day ahead, but when i told the devs, they just said to enter one day ahead instead of fixing this inexcusable glitch. There's a button for entering boosters. But, of course, it's grayed out and doesn't work, forcing you to back out several screens. The vaccination card you already photographed? You have to take another picture of it every time you document a booster. Does the develop team bother to test? Obviously not. Scanning for the chip in the passport is a disaster too. Count on 5-10 minutes. Not that you could just enter your details manually according to their supposed app update. No, that would be way too easy. I didn't see where to enter passport info manually. I wasted enough time with the vaccine nonsense and finally getting the passport chip to scan. If they can't be bothered to make an interface that doesn't require end users to drill down to find where to manually enter passport info, I’m not going to waste more time trying to find it. After 5 selfies of me wearing the same shirt in my passport photo, it rejected the selfie and timed me out for 24 hours. I updated devices. Did it retain anything from my login profile? Of course not. You have to start from zero all over again. Avoid. ### 3/5 — Airside entered incorrect info *2025-01-29, version 3.23.0* Everything was fine until I did this app! Now, “according to AIRSIDE” my passport expires in 2 days!! When in actuality, it expires in five years!! This is horrible since and out of the country and according to Airside, my passport expires before I re-enter America! User can log in, but it does not connect to wifi or work on cellular data. I then select “Retry” and also attempted to “use offline”. When I “use offline” and attempt to update a credential, it asks me to login again. I have verified through other apps (browsers, etc) that my device is indeed online. It wouldn’t let us in the end, but Dave did his best to find a way for us to get set up! He kept getting back to us with suggestions to try. We’re happy with the help provided and it didn’t take Dave long to respond to us. We were also a bit concerned because we read another review that said the App didn’t work with Canadian passports, but ours worked. ### 5/5 — Works Great *2025-01-29, version 3.23.0* I fly internationally several times a year on Alaska. I have uploaded my passport to Airside and it works great when flying Alaska internationally. Recently I was having trouble uploading my new passport to the Airside app. I emailed customer support and they promptly got back to me to try and resolve the issue. It turned out to be with an update that was made to the app. As soon as the issue was resolved they emailed me back that it was resolved and to try it. Sure enough it worked the first time. Photo scans worked fine! Passport chip scan took a few tries but worked when I slowed down moving my phone around. I checked chip location online and a pic showing the chip like a frame on the back inside cover helped.
