### 2/5 — Needs work

*2026-03-08, version 1.46*

Very unstable app, lots of connectivity issue. Needs work.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-11-01, version 1.42*

App freezes, crashes, never auto loads. Is the slowest app I’ve ever interacted with.

It is literally seconds between ‘button presses’ and a response to occur.

Often you tap the button to increase temperature, wait 2-4 seconds, then have to press it again, before it changes the temperature by one digit.

Other times you tap it a few times in a 3-5 second period - and 20 seconds later it applies every tap - long after you assumed it had not recognised the taps.

Terrible.

### 1/5 — Ok. Needs improvement

*2024-06-02, version 1.42*

Needs update with plus and minus buttons for the temperature control instead of a slider. App very glitchy.

### 1/5 — Avoid, it’s bad

*2024-02-14, version 1.42*

Without doubt the worst app I’ve ever used. It’s ugly, poorly thought out and constructed. It is also unbelievably slow, I press a button to turn on a zone and it takes 4-5s for the ui to update.

And then if it’s on cooling it won’t ever shut off, regardless of what the detected temperature is. On heating it shuts off but not on cooling just wracking up expensive electricity bills.

Avoid this at all costs. Why version 4 is this bad is beyond me.

### 2/5 — Lousy

*2023-12-27*

This system is really out of date and every time you open the app it has to find and connect to the console. The console has an entire tablet to run it, but it seems to lose connection all the time. It connects to Google home kind of, but not smartthings or anything else.

### 1/5 — Never connects

*2023-12-14, version 1.40*

Useless app. Never connects when out of wifi.

### 2/5 — Unable to connect using AirTouch4

*2023-07-23, version 1.40*

I have followed the troubleshooting steps but my new iPhone 14 cannot connect to our AirTouch4 unit. My wife’s iPhone (which was recently upgraded to ios 16) can connect without issue.

Looking at my settings, it looks like the app doesn’t have an option. For local network settings either.

What I see is a constant loading screen and it never connects.

Uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling doesn’t seem to change anything. Would appreciate any support. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Awful, illogical as hard to use as it could be

*2023-02-12, version 1.40*

The damned business logic of this must have been dreamed up by a sadist. It automatically turns zones down to stupidly low percentages until the unit has no choice but to blast everything into one room.

Adjusting temperatures has to be done room by room. No ‘reset all’ functionality.

Worse though, adjusting fan percentage has to be done in 5% increments for each room! So with ten zones, that’s 190 taps of the screen!! Are you kidding? It also retains it’s daftly thought through percentages until the next time it’s turned on.

Awful app. The worst app I have controlling the most expensive thing I have controlled by an app. Don’t get a system with this basket case app attached.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2023-01-12, version 1.40*

The app makes me log in every time I open it, and it’s really slow. Sometimes completely locks up.

I don’t understand why they would create a new AirTouch 5 app and not continue to improve this one.

### 2/5 — Fix the UI

*2022-11-27, version 1.40*

UI needs a drastic overhaul, both on iOS and the control panel tablet. For what it cost, it’s quite poor.

### 1/5 — No updates - Stay Away

*2022-11-19, version 1.40*

Since AirTouch 5 has come out we have been left in the ditch. I bought this so I would get updates and the system would stay fresh and modern as time progressed with UI updates and usability improvements.

Airtouch’s concept of how they release new hardware and then freezes the state of their apps is old school thinking.

I should have gone with another provider… major regret after blowing over 10k in hardware in this mess of a system.

It’s also so buggy, you open the app it just has the most horrific loading screen, you login and it just logs you out. You send commands to the AC and it sometimes never does it. The sensors are junk, always mis calculates the ambient temp in the rooms.

Total utter trash. Total trash.

Super upset.

### 1/5 — Latest update introduces issues

*2022-07-01, version 1.40*

The iPhone app looses the only know system
Each time you open or switch back to the app you have to re enter the ONLY saved system known to the app .. started since the latest update 😞

### 1/5 — Non-user friendly. Doesn’t connect remotely.

*2022-05-11, version 1.40*

App doesn’t log in remotely. Seems like a useless waste of money. This app and the touchpad really needs more updates.

Always keep getting authentication error even though the details are correct. Logs me in when it feels like.

Absolutely useless. So much so I am thinking of getting the company wifi module for mitsubishi now. This is ridiculous.

### 3/5 — UI needs some work for usability

*2022-02-17, version 1.40*

I would love to see some UI improvements, as it’s a bit janky at the moment:

1) Press, hold and left/right to increase/decrease temp or fan - it gets a bit cumbersome to change a fan from 0% up to x% multiple times on multiple zones. For example if the system has auto dropped the zone to 0% fan, I need to press the + sign literally 20 times to get to 100% 🤷‍♂️ - another option would be a full width horizontal selector under the zone name, so you can in an instant go from 0% to what you need. Another idea would be a press and hold for fast change - eg I want to go from 0 to 100% so hold down the + for a few seconds to achieve this. After one second of pressing the fast change feature kicks in and quickly adjusts the value.

2) Feedback button to send a message with feedback directly in the app - will encourage users to give useful and relevant feedback to the developers. This might defer low ratings to a support submission instead ;)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs update

*2026-08-20, version 1.46*

This app needs a lot of work to become baseline viable. The outages and the disconnects under wifi or mobile network is annoying.

### 1/5 — Useless App

*2026-07-14, version 1.46*

Can’t Log in. No fixes.

### 1/5 — Keeps disconnecting

*2026-01-14, version 1.46*

Layout is outdated. The app keeps logging me out and unable to reconnect to the ac after the latest update

### 1/5 — Can not connect

*2026-01-10, version 1.46*

Typed in system ID and password but unable to connect

### 1/5 — App update

*2025-12-29, version 1.45*

Was their an app update? I can’t select the temperature for each room now.. isn’t that feature the purpose of having ducted and the app?

### 1/5 — UX Design???

*2025-12-23, version 1.45*

Never ceases to amaze me how insanely bad the user interface design (I’ll use that term loosely) is.
Honestly, somebody just starting out in software development would take more care and have a better idea of what works / looks good or not.
Get somebody else to take over.

Mind boggling!

Fisher Price My First App

### 1/5 — Upgrade December 2025

*2025-12-11, version 1.43*

The upgraded app won’t connect

### 1/5 — terrible

*2025-09-22*

this app wastes your life. And to fix it requires spending thousands for “air touch 5” systems

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-05-23, version 1.42*

Over the 1.5 years we have use this app it has connected probably a total of 5 times. The whole point of using an app is to connect remotely however this app never works or allows you to login.

### 1/5 — Worst App, No Support

*2025-02-02, version 1.42*

Airtouch Has to be the worst AC controller. Instead updating the app the release app but will only work with their new controllers. I regret buying this for my AC. Will look for alternatives

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app. Background colour change needed

*2025-01-02, version 1.42*

Great app but fresh air mode should be a different background colour to cooling mode to make it easier to see which mode it’s in. Green would be good!

### 5/5 — Works well with Daikin ducted system

*2020-05-19, version 1.30*

Had Airtouch4 system for several months now. Overall works well, ability to control temperature & airflow in the different zones, control the system remotely. All very handy, a nice addition to our ducted system.

### 5/5 — Apple Watch

*2020-02-15, version 1.30*

Any plans to develop Apple Watch app?

### 4/5 — App can’t receive notifications

*2024-03-18, version 1.42*

Why can’t my mobile app receive notifications about high temperatures recently?

### 4/5 — Oh! for Landscape

*2022-08-18, version 1.40*

App works well and is easy to use, however it would be great to have a dedicated iPad (or generic tablet) version to run in landscape.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2022-06-19, version 1.40*

Works well; thought parts of interface clunky, always a slight lag when tapping, and could do with Aotearoa backgrounds.

### 4/5 — Solid, needs improved automation

*2021-02-17, version 1.36*

It would be great if this app had the ability for conditional automation. For example each morning before I wake up, the system warms my bedroom if the temp is below a set threshold.

### 4/5 — Lag issue

*2020-09-30, version 1.35*

When we first had our aircon installed the Airtouch4 app was quite responsive and logged in quickly.
The app works well however has lots of lag in recent versions.

It used to auto login when on the same wifi network. Now even when on the same wifi have to go to the saved system and manually log in each time the app is loaded.
Also recent versions seem to have a fair bit of lag.

### 3/5 — A bit buggy

*2026-01-05, version 1.45*

Like other comments, it’s quite tedious to drastically increase or decrease temp/fan in multiple zones with multiple taps. Also I think our room temperatures disappeared after the last update - they were there one minute, and gone the next. I’ve tried clearing app cache etc etc, but they’re gone on all devices that have Air Touch 4 installed. Don’t think the internet password actually changes either

### 3/5 — Ok, but needs work

*2022-05-19, version 1.40*

Does a basic job, but could do with a refresh and some new features like a timer function eg turn off after 1 hour
