We’re looking into this and will make any changes necessary, subject to root cause. ### 2/5 — Needs ongoing developer support *2026-04-16, version 1.12* This app is the default app for the AirTouch 5 air conditioner controller which runs the AC unit from an android tablet. You can set up quite personalised and specific settings with different start and stop times, and temperatures within a program. The iPhone/iPad app is ok, some set up options are not intuitive and are hidden behind other screens and settings. However once set up the system generally runs smoothly and the main screen allows you to quickly change zone settings on the fly. Some downsides. The app could be more stable, it regularly fails to establish a connection and needs to be fully shutdown and reopened to work properly. The developer is also trying to move users to the AirTouch Home. Which it says has “a focus on the entire home and smart devices” what that means in reality is that you are confronted with a much more complicated and cluttered interface with a new app that requires more sharing of personal data. The new app is in addition to the Airtouch5 app, not a replacement so you end up with 2 apps to manage one device which is a backward step. Hopefully the developer doesn’t abandon the AirTouch5 app and those of us who simply and only want to control their air conditioner can still use it. What is it you enjoy the most? ### 2/5 — Frequently disconnects *2026-03-25* The app frequently drops out from the connection with Wifi and you can’t use it on your iPhone. Have to often come downstairs and make adjustments on the wired in console. Everything else in our house works perfectly on the Wifi signal, which is strong. I’ve seen many other comments on the app saying the same thing. The app needs to be fixed to it doesn’t have regular connection issues. It’s terrible as it is. **Developer response:** Hi there. But the trouble is it keeps losing connection with my ducted air conditioning system via the home wifi which means I have to delete and reinstall the App repeatedly to be able to use it. Have had this issue since it’s been installed 18months ago. Updated firmware etc with no luck. ### 4/5 — Wifi connectivity fix *2025-02-19, version 1.11* We like most of you had wifi drop outs and failure to reconnect at times, I persisted and Polyaire sent a tech out to kid a new firmware /software to the tablet, has not dropped out since. This was in 2023/24 and thought they would have rolled out a patch or update since then, they know of the issue, They have a fix, get Polyaire tech to attend. System has been flawless since then. ### 3/5 — Needs A Widget *2025-02-11, version 1.11* Really enjoying the app. Wifi doesn’t seem to like combined 2.4ghz/5ghz channels. More often than not the app doesn't work without regular local system reset (sometimes daily). Don’t rely on the app for remote operation. Currently exploring other alternatives. ### 2/5 — Disconnects constantly *2024-12-30* Since installed, this Airtouch5 has constantly disconnected from my wifi. It’s terrible. I updated the software which was supposed to fix the connection issues, but it’s got worse. Disconnecting twice a day. It also malfunctions when trying to adjust room temp settings. It won’t accept single increase/decrease increments. Instead it jumps a few degrees or 5 degrees at a time. Certainly rethinking my decision for the premium price tag. The latest update has the worst user interface I’ve ever seen. It’s clunky and unnecessarily convoluted. Please go back to the original app! **Developer response:** Hi there. If you’re referring to AT 5, the app continues to be available for air control only. AT Home focuses on a broader smart home approach. Tablet is connected to home wifi but the IOS version of the app will not connect to the tablet. I haven’t experienced any connectivity issues however my home is a connected house with wired data connections throughout - I ran into similar wifi connectivity issues in my previous house running high trafffic on the wifi system (ring cameras etc) I wouldn’t be surprised if the connectivity issues experienced by other reviewers were there own lack of tech knowledge or support and not a true representation of the product. Also use it with Home Assistant. Only thing I learnt at the start is you can't exit the app on the tablet otherwise it won't connect. I have read the other reviews and have not had the same experience. Most issues are usually operator error!! ### 5/5 — Very happy with the app *2023-06-20* I was prompted to write this review when my wife just commented how nice it was to be able to just turn the heating on before getting out of bed on a surprise cold morning! Having read a few reviews I was a little worried but took the plunge anyway. Airtouch 5 installed about 3 months ago and we’ve been very happy with the system and the app. Other reviews highlight app freezes, WiFi connectivity and pin entry as issues but we have had none of those issues. I do have a potential issue that an auto program is not always running as expected, which I’m checking to determine if it’s the way I’ve set the program up or if there’s a bug. Other than that, it’s great. We can set zones to the temp we want whether we’re at home or away. We can also just ask Google to do what we want. Love the ability to control the AC from anywhere. ### 5/5 — Great tech *2023-01-26* Works a treat. Amazing to be able to control the AC from anywhere, set timers. Mostly leave the system on the auto setting and with the add on of individual wireless room sensors controlling the zones keeps both upstairs and downstairs within 1-2deg of the set temperature.
