### 3/5 — Rates good, app bad

*2026-07-22, version 2.0.35*

Good isa rates but the app is really quite poor. I transferred from Moneybox for the better rates but Moneybox’s ux is far better.

### 3/5 — App has a lot of potential

*2026-01-28, version 2.0.30*

Really like what the app does. It’s easy to choose what to invest and they give you plenty of choices to pick from that align with your risk appetite. You can also quite easily see how your money is doing over time.

Now the not so good, as a UX Designer this app is quite difficult to get your head around. You don’t always know how to invest monthly. Took me ages to get used to it and to be honest, I’m still not. When the money will be reinvested is not clear and how you go about it isn’t clear either. You expect to put them one in and it’s done on your behalf. But if you don’t actively do it, then it just sits in your pot. I think for one-off this makes sense, but monthly you’d expect it’s done automatically for you. Almost like a direct debit for your investment choice.

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2026-01-27, version 2.0.30*

Pretty easy to use although a one-click rebalancing option would be bring it more in line with competitors

### 4/5 — Mr

*2026-01-26, version 2.0.30*

While it’s a great app, and I appreciate it’s meant to offer a simplified range of funds; there is “simplified” and then there is simplified. In the current climate, a few more funds for precious metals other than gold would be good. Moreover, with an overvalued US market, why not have a “World ex-US” fund as a simple way to diversify your portfolio while avoiding the US? Just a few more funds would strike a slightly better balance between simplicity and optionality.

### 2/5 — Poor app and limited investment choice

*2025-12-01, version 2.0.27*

The app needs to at the bare minimum have a graph showing portfolio gains over a multitude of durations. Additionally, this is a very dumbed down way to be investing with odd names for different ETFs and a real lack of choice for both those and company stocks.

### 5/5 — Amazing customer service

*2025-05-19, version 2.0.22*

Prompt responses, answered my questions timely. Super simple app - great for newbie investors.

### 3/5 — Not a full investment app!

*2025-03-12, version 2.0.22*

Ok for the cash interest, and the AJ bell funds, individual shares are very limited.

### 1/5 — The worst service ever

*2025-01-27, version 2.0.21*

I have been trying for two weeks to open a stocks and shares ISA. Possibly I had written wrongly my date of birth and it could not proceed. They never replied back to me and I aas sending messages for days. I was never told the reason and after two weeks they told me about the date of birth mistake. I had asked so many times but I was told after so many days. I have been trying to delete my account and even that cannot be done. Very low and cheap service and maybe the worst application ever. Never approach them. It is not worth. How can you trust a company with your money when they behave with such lack of professionalism?

### 4/5 — Forget the referral!

*2025-01-13, version 2.0.20*

App works and is easy to use. Disappointed with the referral £30. I am not a shopper, certainly not with any of brands on the list so I win't be using the refer a friend again and both my & the person who I referred will not be benefiting from it.

### 1/5 — Gets stuck at loading screen

*2025-01-10, version 2.0.20*

The app keep getting stuck at loading screen when registering: Nearly there, give it two ticks… Sent a message to help center - no response after a week.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t transparently list all costs

*2026-07-26, version 2.0.35*

I moved my ISA based on the costs listed online. But only at the final stage of investment do they list all the costs. I complained to customer service who initially agreed that something was wrong with the app because they obviously shouldn’t be disclosing extra costs at the end. After a lot of chasing, they just gave me ‘not my problem’ response. I’ll be moving my ISA again, this time away from Dodl to a provider that actually discloses fees upfront.

### 1/5 — Really Poor Investment App. Avoid if Possible!

*2026-03-10, version 2.0.32*

I have transferred my Cash LISA into a Stocks & Shares LISA as I have been using a Stocks & Shares ISA with success (I use common & popular ETFs). I use Trading 212 which has plenty of options & tools to use to make investment decisions. I expected to have plenty of options for investment as I have heard good things about AJ Bell however there is an extremely poor choice of options with performance data so poor that it might as well not be there as it barely provides any detail.
I have noticed that the app is not able to add up my investments properly & give the correct investment change percentage. This is very concerning as that is something that is very basic.
They clearly state that there will be reminders for the charges on the account however, I have not received any & have chased up about it yet I still don’t receive the reminders.
The only good thing I can say about this platform is it has low fees, otherwise please avoid using Dodl!

### 1/5 — Invest

*2026-01-26, version 2.0.30*

The website is very poor and I think I will move my money to 121. I thought I had put the Gia into an adventurous investment but it is still not there!!!

### 1/5 — Sign up page is horrible

*2025-11-16, version 2.0.27*

Can you fix it so that I can copy and paste in text boxes?

### 1/5 — Broken password management

*2025-09-17, version 2.0.24*

When signing up the password screen would neither work with Bitwarden nor allow you to paste text into the password fields. Difficult to have a secure password when you’re required to type it in manually every time it is required. Exceptionally poor for an app that could be managing thousands of pounds of your money.

### 1/5 — Can’t use

*2025-08-07, version 2.0.24*

Just says ‘error’ every time I try to open a funded account.

### 1/5 — Poor Customer Service

*2025-07-29, version 2.0.24*

Was having problems setting an profile & account. In the first instances got communication with the help support team, then they stopped communicating with no apparent reason. Not impressed with the help support.

### 1/5 — Do not use

*2025-04-14, version 2.0.22*

I moved from Vanguard to this and the service and app is shocking. The transfer took many MONTHS of back and forth and chasing Dodl and then the app is so glitchy I set up a direct debit nothing was taken the following month, when I chased them up they said you missed the cut off that’s why..cue the month after that I was told to set up a direct debit?! Such a mess! Don’t risk trusting them with your money tbh I’m moving elsewhere

### 1/5 — Can’t set up a LISA

*2025-03-14, version 2.0.22*

Error message when trying to set up a LISA and not explanation for it. Contacted them on the chat box but still had no response a day later. Shocking customer service.

### 1/5 — Worst services

*2025-02-09, version 2.0.21*

I have been chasing since 7 days no reply no one is responding worst services I ever had

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy to navigate!

*2026-02-21, version 2.0.31*

Does what it says on the tin.

### 5/5 — Super easy app

*2026-01-29, version 2.0.30*

It took me a while to get used to this app as I’d used another platform previously.
I was advised that the funds offered by this company were trustworthy and more likely to gain long term returns.
I am pleased so far with how my investments are going and have learned a lot from this great app for new-ish investors like myself.

### 5/5 — AJ Bell

*2026-01-27, version 2.0.30*

Very good app. Easy to transfer money and to invest. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — It’s a doddle

*2026-01-27, version 2.0.30*

Top quality app. Does what it says on the tin. Easy to use, intuitive and informative. Highly recommend AJ Bell as a parent

### 5/5 — Dodl is a Doddle

*2026-01-26, version 2.0.30*

Easy to use and for me a good choice of funds and shares to invest in.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-01-26, version 2.0.30*

Good (and British owned and based unlike most cheaper platforms). Cheap and cheerful and while a small number of funds enough range to bulls a balanced portfolio with low fees. Or use the AJ Bell or Vanguard ready made ones.

### 5/5 — An excellent starting place

*2026-01-26, version 2.0.30*

Simple to use, more than enough options for the neophyte and good learning support. I am very much enjoying using the app

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2026-01-19, version 2.0.30*

Works good for me. Easy to invest and see growth. Cheap too!

### 5/5 — Good

*2025-09-26, version 2.0.24*

I have been using for a year or two. I’m a beginner into investing. Not used other platforms but this is simple enough. The range is limited but enough it feels if you doing want to be bombarded with Tons of ETFs, shares etc. the funds AJ Bell chose appears stable. Messaging is fine in app. Transfer took a few days from another high street account. My Portfolio is up.

### 5/5 — good for Lisa

*2025-05-21, version 2.0.23*

works well , opened a lisa for my 19 year old son, simple to use low fees , funds - can only buy aj bells own funds (etf) and a reasonable range of uk and usa shares,
