### 2/5 — Puzzles removed from App most Recent Change

*2024-02-28, version 17.2.3*

I was doing the daily Sudoku, daily Jigsaw and other puzzles through this App, but after the most recent change this week, these are now gone. Not too thrilled with AJC for this change.

### 4/5 — Read AJC on iPad every morning

*2023-10-12, version 17.2.1*

App is good; my only problem has been that randomly it will require me to delete and reinstall when it will not boot until in the morning. That’s a real problem and extremely annoying. The visual presentation of the actual AJC is very good so hopefully this instability of logging in will be fixed. Regardless, I will never go back to an actual “paper” newspaper!

### 3/5 — Good paper, poor app forcing ads on subscribers

*2023-04-30, version 17.0.9*

If someone has a paid subscription which costs almost as much as a daily delivery, how about getting rid of the ads at the bottom? They make it very difficult to read the paper with all the distraction going on at the bottom.

### 2/5 — Remove ads for subscribers

*2023-01-20, version 15*

I like the idea of having an epaper and being able to read the news as I would with the print edition. The ad banner at the bottom completely ruins that for me though. I can understand having ads for non-subscribers, but I don’t understand why the banner is still there after I’ve logged into my subscriber account. I’m already paying a subscription to your paper. PLEASE remove that ad banner.

### 4/5 — Enjoy reading the Sports.

*2022-09-17, version 14*

Wish the paper was delivered closer to north Georgia. Would sometimes like a printed Sunday copy during football season.

### 1/5 — Crap app

*2022-09-04, version 14*

I don’t know how many times I had had to reinstall this crap program. It forgets passwords, it gets a failing grade

### 5/5 — Love the AJC ePaper!

*2022-07-02*

Great app and reading experience. I’m nostalgic about the original actual paper but reading on my iPad is so much more convenient and this app really gives me the best of both worlds.

Wish others on here would separate review of the app vs the content. Email the paper directly with concerns on the content.

I feel fortunate to live in an area with robust local journalism and modern access to it.

### 3/5 — Does the job but could be much better

*2022-05-21*

The app does the bare minimum of showing digital picture of the paper and a 1995 version of the article when clicked. The flashing advertisement at the bottom of the page is almost a deal breaker for me because it constantly distracts me from what I’m reading. I’m already seeing the normal ads in a paper, and how much money can you really be making off of this flashing ad? I’m paying for a subscription already. Can I pay $0.25 more per month and make that go away?

If anyone wants to see how good an e-paper app can be, they should check out WaPo.

### 1/5 — Fix or delete

*2022-05-15, version 12*

Worthless app. Paper fails to load or blank page when zooming in on app. Either support this app or end of life.

### 1/5 — Fails to load

*2022-04-05, version 11.1*

It is always a surprise if the e paper will load. Many days I just give up on reading the paper. App sometimes never opens. Sometimes it will open and pretend to load. And sometimes there is indeed a paper!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Fake News

*2024-05-31, version 17.3.5*

Essentially just a bunch of opinions and Fake News masquerading as news, with dog-whistling headlines.

### 1/5 — 2 problems

*2024-04-19, version 17.3.4*

I have been a customer for years. This app is the app that does not update automatically. You have to delete the app and redownload

I have a subscription to the ePaper thru my Apple account. Today, the app wants me to login. When I provide username/password, the app accepts it and returns me to the main page of app. When I select the paper, the process starts over - wants me to login!

### 1/5 — App not working

*2024-02-16, version 17.2.3*

App doesn’t work. Downloaded it but no response when I click anything. Also doesn’t appear in my subscriptions, so somehow my iPhone isn’t recognizing the app.

### 1/5 — Thought this was part of my AJC subscription

*2023-08-13, version 17.2.1*

I was not aware that this app was 9.99 a month until after I made the purchase. I was led to believe it was part of my AJC subscription.

I was to cancel this and get a refund.

### 1/5 — Does not open daily editions

*2023-05-01, version 17.0.9*

Tap on a daily paper, app goes to “my account”. Cannot read any editions on this app. Useless.

### 1/5 — Billing Issues

*2023-02-20, version 15*

I signed up for a locked in rate with autopay and now AJC tells me it’s not valid and has increased the rate 39%. Customer service tells me prices go up, that’s just the way it is we can’t honor our price we gave you. With all the app issues and repeated content over several days, plus ads in my face while trying to read…good riddance.

### 1/5 — Massive waste of screen realestate

*2023-01-16, version 15*

Even without the huge ad bar there is a huge ui bar taking up an equally huge amount of screen space… can’t hardly see the content.

### 1/5 — Obnoxious ads

*2023-01-02, version 15*

It’s obnoxious to take up horizontal 1 inch bar of screen real estate for an advertisement (ironically, telling me to turn off my iPad) when I am already a subscriber paying for the digital edition. The app claims I can opt out in device settings but that’s no where to be found.

### 1/5 — Newspaper forces you to poor app

*2022-11-20, version 15*

Since the actual newspaper no longer prints the sports, they force you to an app with links just to finish what you are reading. I don't expect the ajc to be around much longer. That is truly a shame.

### 1/5 — Horrible app AJC

*2022-09-21, version 14*

Find first and second time using the app, it is mostly useless. I chose minimal content to avoid a million notifications. And now it provides no news. I also chose paper delivery and they didn't deliver the first newspaper. I do hope the paper survives.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I only read the e-paper

*2025-06-07, version 17.3.8*

Although we subscribe to the print edition, I only read the E paper. That’s because it contains later news and allows for much more content.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-03-31, version 17.3.8*

Look forward to the morning paper!!!

### 5/5 — AJC app 5 star!

*2024-04-02, version 17.3.4*

Love reading the AJC here, on the app! Very easy to navigate, and I can take it wherever I go so that I never missed the local news!

### 5/5 — I Love This App and The AJC

*2023-12-08, version 17.2.1*

The Atlanta Journal Has Transitioned To Digital Journalism Without Giving Up The Features We All Love .

### 5/5 — Godsend…

*2023-07-14, version 17.2.1*

The first thing I do, every morning, is read my AJC. I have done this for thirty years, transitioning from print to ePaper. I enjoy each and every minute of it, but….the sports section is too long! Thank you for a quality news source, untainted by personal bias.

### 5/5 — Works everywhere

*2023-05-28, version 17.0.9*

I love the AJC app. I can keep up with Atlanta news wherever I go and the price is affordable.

### 5/5 — Easy to read

*2023-04-30, version 17.0.9*

One of the better newspaper apps. Great for people who like a paper version.

### 5/5 — Getting better all the time.

*2023-01-02, version 15*

Please keep the ability to read the newspaper on line as us

### 5/5 — Truth

*2022-12-20*

Finding a source of facts and truth has become so difficult in this the “information” age. Yet, it has been right in front of us for so many years. The only continuously reliable source has been the newspapers. They are edited by people with high ideals who are willing to be principled even when it would be financially beneficial to go with the popular lies and exaggerations common in other media outlets. They even have the backbone to retract stories if they find out they were mistaken.

Maybe if society would return to using reliable sources, such as the Atlanta Journal/Constitution the uninformed would stop believing in the ridiculous conspiracy theories and propaganda espoused by internet and television media.

Thank you AJC

### 5/5 — Has grown on me

*2022-11-06, version 15*

Took awhile, but now I’m used to navigating and really like it.
