## What is Aksent?

Aksent will help you improve your pronunciation in order to shed that accent! I​t is great for teachers, ​students or actors​ learning foreign languages.

It uses powerful deep learning neural networking models, which perform speech recognition with Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods like deep learning, to compute an accuracy score of your pronunciation.

With three simple steps you can start shedding that accent:
  1. Type a word to listen to its pronunciation (and optionally translate it to any language)
  2. Tap 'Your Voice' to record your own pronunciation (tap again to stop recording and to listen to it)
  3. Tap 'Results' to get a score of your pronunciation
  4. Rinse and repeat!

This is a good idea as an app for learning to speak more like a native.  I tried Dutch, German, and French - the app struggled to even find the correct word.

However it doesn’t do any phrases and depends on you to spell the word correctly. Also general bugs include not being able to remember a word that has been typed in even when it has been scored. Also some of it is very computer generated speech patterns so you can’t match it even if you try.

May want it later but not worth it now.

As someone who teaches English as a second language, I find this to be a great app and a very handy resource. Working with the words--by listening, repeating, and getting feedback--really helps you learn the pronunciation. Great app! I highly recommend giving this one a try!
