### 2/5 — Not great

*2023-06-26, version 2.3*

This app crashes frequently. I use the take notes feature for my sessions and now my notes are all gone. I like the favorites and schedule on my phone, but not terribly dependable.

### 2/5 — Overall ok - bad for notes

*2022-06-27, version 2.1*

List half the notes i took for a session with no way to retrieve.

### 2/5 — Can’t do anything

*2020-06-24*

I can login but once the app starts to download the event data, it just closes. Very frustration.

### 2/5 — Glitches

*2019-06-27, version 1.5*

I really wanted to like this app. It would avoid the complete waste of paper that is the catalog. But, at some point Saturday, my entire schedule was wiped out. All gone. It happened around the tine all the “Meet the Authors” sessions appeared in the app. This was beyond frustrating, as I had to research through the schedule to try to find the sessions I wanted to attend. Fix these kinds of glitches and I’ll raise my score.

### 3/5 — ALA App is pretty good

*2019-06-26, version 1.5*

For selecting sessions and getting reminders for them. However, search is spotty—it didn’t return some vendors that are represented in the exhibits. Also, a map of the building showing your current location or at least providing guidance on which part of which building each session is in would be a valuable improvement.

### 4/5 — Useful but keeps kicking me out!

*2019-06-25, version 1.5*

Every time it kicks me out, I have to sign in again with my badge number. Annoying!

### 4/5 — Public librarian and archivist

*2019-06-24, version 1.5*

I can avoid lugging around the hard copy schedule book with this app. I gave it four stars instead of five because it is a bit slow at times and needs to be rebooted if you go off of it briefly. However, the former may have more to do with the wireless service here at the convention center.

### 4/5 — Good

*2019-06-24, version 1.5*

It’s good but tends to be glitchy.

### 1/5 — Poor reflection

*2019-06-23*

Unlike previous iterations, this version of the ALA app has stopped working, removed part of my information or required me to delete it and reinstall it entirely more than half a dozen times during the first three days of the conference.

### 2/5 — App crashes and logged me out

*2019-06-23, version 1.5*

I’ve seen worse apps at conferences but the ALA app logged me out after 3 days of the conference erasing all my favorites sessions and saved data. I had to look up my registration number to log in again. It also crashed pretty frequently. Usually closing it and opening it again did the trick but this last time it erased all my saved data.

### 4/5 — Good but slow at times

*2019-06-23, version 1.5*

I like that I can select events and add personal meetings. Kudos for the later, since that puts everything in the same spot.

I like that I can search the schedule in different ways and that is helpful. I really like that I can take notes in the app.

I don’t like how long it takes the app to start up. That is a real problem when trying to figure out where the next event is.

Thanks to ALA and the creator/supporter of this app. I think it was vital for navigating the conference. I just wish it was a bit better.

### 2/5 — Useful, but buggy at the worst times

*2019-06-23, version 1.5*

I nearly missed a session because the app kept glitching. When I opened My Schedule, it kept glitching back and forth between days, not letting me scroll down to the time slot I needed. Because of this, I couldn’t see a session I’d scheduled and almost missed it. I suppose that should teach me to write down my schedule elsewhere, but I’d rather have consistent access to my schedule than learn a Very Important Lesson.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Clunky App

*2024-01-20, version 2.5*

Why do I have to login in over and over all day. Let me sign up and be signed in all the time. So frustrating. And it goes through all the info screens each time and is so slow!

### 1/5 — Unable to access slides

*2023-06-24, version 2.3*

Either none of the presenters are providing slides or they are not uploaded in the app. It’s difficult to attend everything of interest, so having access to slides allows more flexibility. I can get the information even if I can’t get to the session. If slides are available the links provided in the app are not working?

### 1/5 — Why is this so difficult to access

*2023-01-29, version 2.2*

Constantly have to re enter information logs out and go through multiple screens to access schedule

### 1/5 — Makes you constantly log-in

*2023-01-19, version 2.2*

You have to log-in every time you open the app with your confirmation number. Who remembers that? Then confirm your profile, agree to terms & conditions, scroll through 3 pages of tips. EVERY TIME. So annoying.

### 1/5 — 2020 crashes every time

*2020-06-25, version 1.8*

I can’t even get past the accept screen before it crashes.

### 1/5 — Update stinks

*2020-06-24, version 1.8*

Update of 6/23/2020 has ruined any chance of connection to virtual conference

### 1/5 — Crashes every time

*2020-06-24, version 1.8*

App crashes every time when downloading event data. It’s useless

### 1/5 — Keeps shutting down

*2020-06-24, version 1.8*

I like being able to access my schedule readily, but it keeps shutting down. Quite annoying! I doubt I’ll be able to use it efficiently for the virtual conference.

### 1/5 — Clunky and hard to use

*2019-06-24, version 1.5*

I had to reinstall the app several times. It prompts me to enter my login information repeatedly. The search function freezes the entire app and forced a shutdown on multiple occasions.
I was looking for information about the ALA store and was unable to find anything.
I don’t want to lug the big conference book around so there really is no alternative to using the app, but it’s frustrating to use.

### 1/5 — Logs me out

*2019-06-24, version 1.5*

Continually logs me out and then loses all of the sessions I had favorited. Pretty frustrating! I’ve started carrying around a piece of paper with my sessions.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So helpful.

*2025-06-29, version 2.8*

This app has been so helpful for me to navigate the conference and all of its sessions. Wish it had a floor plan of the exhibit area.

### 5/5 — Slow

*2023-06-23, version 2.3*

Slow to respond, and sometimes not correctly. I hate the logout times. If it could stay logged in longer it would be helpful.

### 5/5 — LibLearnX - a fantastic experience

*2023-01-30, version 2.2*

I love this app! It’s so easy to maneuver and use — of course, librarians and ALA developed this for the LibLearnX participants. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Meh

*2023-01-28, version 2.2*

I use it because I can enter my schedule on a computer, and have access on my phone. Every time I open it, it acts like it is the very first time I ever opened it, even if it has been only 10 minutes since I last used it. Lately, the day feature of the Scheduler has flickered and acted wonky. It is better than nothing, but not great.

### 5/5 — Absolutely indispensable!

*2022-06-25, version 2.1*

This app has made the conference so much more navigable! Changes are easy to make, and I can look at my personal schedule at a glance. Love it!

### 5/5 — Time-saver app

*2018-06-28, version 1.1*

This app is the one thing you should have for conference, other than comfortable shoes and a masseuse. The ability to pull up slides or take notes is very helpful. And it is great to be able to look easily at your schedule. It’s a winning app!

### 5/5 — So easy to use!

*2018-06-26, version 1.1*

I really loved having this app! It made finding sessions easy and it reminded you when to go. The only thing I didn’t like is that it sucked my battery dry. But I would have been lost without it- literally.

### 4/5 — Great but glitchy at times

*2024-06-30, version 2.6*

I love the app, but it freezes and is sometimes hard to make it function the way it should.
Especially when in the vendor section, and it constantly wants to send you to the next day in the schedule side.

### 4/5 — Better than lugging the physical book.

*2019-07-26, version 1.5*

It was a wonderful tool to have in my pocket! There were only two times it did not load for me at the Annual Conference 2019. In those instances, I needed to shut down the app and reboot.
I am not sure how the messaging tool works though. I sent a few messages to people I wanted to network with, but I never saw where to access them once sent out. I also am not sure the recipients of those messages ever saw the messages.

### 4/5 — Worked well in DC for me

*2019-06-25, version 1.5*

I used the scheduler part, mainly and rooms maps
Didn’t appreciate constant notifications about speakers and events I couldn’t get to because of conflicts with my already scheduled meetings
Much more useful though than the paper book!
