There are multiple customizations you can set for each alarm and the radio plays automatically and continuously based on what I selected. Unfortunately, the alarm does not make an audible sound when my phone is locked and I just receive multiple notifications when it goes off. Due to app restrictions imposed by Apple we're not allowed to play the radio in the background without the user consent. This is why you first receive a notification, then only after interacting with it (tapping it), will the radio start. We understand this is not the desired approach, but the way how Apple's restrictions are currently set, it's not possible to configure it as we originally intended.
