Motion detection only works up to about 8 feet away. The camera/app does not log/organize recordings correctly. I would think if I click on the notification as soon as I get it I would be able to see who walked by or whatever it was... but NOOO takes about a full 30 seconds to actually go to the live camera feed and by that time the person has already left. Recently, motion detection notifications stopped. Notifications were enabled and sensitivity adjusted, but no fix. After uninstalling/reinstalling, my security code (written down exactly) is now rejected. The interface feels outdated and needs a refresh. Developer seems inactive. Reluctantly giving it 1/5 – hate to abandon it, but it’s unusable now. ### 1/5 — Needs updated *2025-12-27* I’ve had this for awhile, just never took it out of the box. At first during the day the video quality was very good but then night came and the video was unwatchable. We removed the camera and reset it but nothing changed. In fact during the course of the night it looked like we were watching the Matrix. The video has progressively gotten worse and now there is a purple haze over the entire video. We tried several more times to reset it but still nothing that is watchable. The problem people seem to be having is when the cameras disconnect suddenly and then a black screen with a plug pops up. If this happens, wait a few seconds and it will reconnect itself automatically. It’s not the end of the world. BUT ONE THING I BEG OF YOU @DEVELOPERS PLEASE CHANGE THE MOTION MASK TO ALLOW US TO DRAW WHERE YOU WANT TO SELECT INSTEAD OF JUST CHOOSING SQUARES OF SPACE 🙏🏼 ### 5/5 — The Perfect Doorbell Camera with local storage *2019-04-12* At first try, it connect and then disconnect like every 2 seconds or won’t even find the camera on my network, which is the same experience everyone here left a negative review for. But I insisted for an hour and then figure it out. If you connect the doorbell directly to your WiFi and have the same problem simply delete your network from the app, reset the doorbell camera. There’s a reset button in the back of the doorbell camera. Connect the WiFi extender to your WiFi network and then connect the doorbell camera ONLY to the WiFi extender NOT your WiFi network and all the problems everyone is experiencing in these reviews will then be history. Someone stole my prescriptions that are sellable on the street. The last thing that was stolen was my expensive wireless headphones. Oh, I almost forgot, an idiot used my toilet & never flushed it. My boyfriend and I noticed that when we walked in my place after being gone for awhile. Now, starting today, I'm well armed with my security camera. Kept telling me I needed admin password but i did not have one. Called support. A human answered the phone and I was directed to support immediately. Password was given to me and problem solved. Under 60 seconds. That is the best support I've ever used. ### 4/5 — Unit works awesome *2020-02-04, version 1.2.82* First I watched any on line video about installing the unit. There is one linked to the ALC unit or you can YouTube it. The items in the box were easy to sort out, and the instructions were clear. Longest part of installation was connecting my WiFi to the unit. It will take you a few times to Bluetooth the unit and locate it with your BT. After a few attempts, I hit the reset button behind the unit and just started over, until the Bluetooth was able to connect. Physical installation was simple enough, just depends on where your door bell is located.
