### 4/5 — Finally got app to work!

*2026-07-21, version 3.8.0*

After a few tries to connect to WiFi, I was able to pair my unit. The only negative is the app will show a different color of the sensor than the unit.

### 2/5 — Meh App- tries hard but doesn’t make it

*2026-05-09, version 3.7.0*

Scheduling function would be great if it worked. Filter reminder also doesn’t work. Always shows great filter life even after a year. Pulled the filter and it was caked with dust and dirt.

“Create a ticket” function in the app doesn’t work. Customer service is non existent.

I’d buy more of these machines if the app worked and they supported the product.

### 3/5 — Ok when it works properly

*2026-04-29, version 3.7.0*

They recently fixed a bug preventing history from working so that’s a positive. However scheduling is still hit or miss if it’s going to work or not. Sometimes it changes settings like it’s supposed to, but the next schedule to put it back to “normal” doesn’t work. Sometimes it doesn’t change the settings at all. Without this function working it kind of makes scheduling pointless.

### 2/5 — Fix the app

*2026-04-09, version 3.6.1*

Since the last iOS update the schedule and graph are broken. I love our air purifiers but the app is poorly maintained. Either Alen and/or their developer are asleep at the wheel. It’s not the first time an update has broken features.

### 2/5 — No graphs

*2026-04-02, version 3.6.1*

Unfortunately, since the last iOS update, the app no longer shows the history graphs of indoor and outdoor levels. Only the current numbers are given.

### 3/5 — Graph

*2026-03-27, version 3.6.1*

The graph just disappears sometimes. It’s still monitoring the air quality, as far as I can tell, but the graph disappearing is annoying. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling, among other things, but I doesn’t fix the problem

### 4/5 — App logs out for “security reasons” all too often

*2026-03-23, version 3.6.1*

Please consider adding two factor authentication instead of automatically logging the users out every month. It’s really annoying.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-01-29, version 3.6.1*

Will not connect

### 2/5 — Lots of glitching

*2026-01-10, version 3.6.1*

Dashboard glitches every time I open the app.

### 2/5 — Okay app but a lot of bugs

*2026-01-08, version 3.6.1*

It constantly delete my added device and schedules for no reason after a few weeks and I have to re-add the device manually with WiFi. Please fix the bugs!

### 1/5 — Tech screws up again

*2026-01-08, version 3.6.1*

Am guessing they wasted some money trying by integrate AI into their app and tracking air quality and it is an utter failure. No one in Jaipur and keep getting random “dander” alerts. Never received them before until the “updated” their app. Makes the app useless with the wasteful notifications. Obviously they don’t use their own app or air filters or they’d not have this be so annoying.

### 1/5 — Won’t pair

*2025-12-02, version 3.6.1*

This isn’t a user error the app won’t connect to my air purifier. I’m not the only one having issues

### 4/5 — Fully functional and fairly simple to use

*2025-11-04, version 3.6.0*

I’ve been using the Alen app with my 45i purifier for the last few years and have had very few issues overall. The app isn’t terribly intuitive and I had to spend some time teaching my mom how to use it for her Alen air cleaner, as the main Home Screen has no clear way to access the controls for the cleaner. Once you find it, managing the controls is pretty straightforward and communicates well with the cleaner. The app does log you out every once in awhile and forces you to log back in, which can be frustrating. It does notify me when my air cleaner is detecting high levels of pollution, but tends to run on a 30-60 minute delay after the fact.

It serves its purpose to control the air cleaners remotely but many features still need work.

### 4/5 — Nice Features

*2025-10-31, version 3.5.0*

I love this App. It gives just the right amount of information for me. If I could change one thing, I would develop the app to work on all phone formats. I use a Galaxy Z fold and it recognizes it as a tablet. The app is not compatible with at tablet.

### 1/5 — $700 Purifier and this is what we get

*2025-09-25, version 3.5.0*

Force logs you out every other week with no social login or face id. This should be a simple app but in reality makes using this purifier a hassle. Too many clicks just to access the remote because it is hidden under so many layers of navigation. I have a $250 Blueair purifier that has an app that is miles ahead of this one.

### 3/5 — Incomprehensible

*2025-05-28, version 3.4.0*

Just terrible app. You add filters and they never show up on your dashboard. God only knows how you get to their settings pages again.

UPDATE: Still not user friendly, but you actually have to leave the app for awhile (ie 30min) and go back and they will finally show up. Added a star but ridiculous it doesn’t tell you that.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not even recognize my devices

*2026-08-13, version 3.8.0*

I have two units and neither one can connect to the app. Customer service can’t help either - none of the troubleshooting steps worked. It’s hard to justify keeping these expensive purifiers where a basic functionality like this is not working.

### 1/5 — Great Air Purifier, Terrible App

*2026-07-29, version 3.8.0*

The Alen app doesn’t work. I downloaded the app 3 days ago and it constantly drops and disconnects from my iPhone and iPad. I can’t even get it to pair anymore. Not a deal breaker though. I love the machine.

### 1/5 — Constant logouts and dropped devices make this frustrating

*2026-07-21, version 3.8.0*

I keep getting logged out randomly, which forces me to sign back in every few days just to control my purifier. On top of that, my devices constantly disconnect from the app — the purifier just drops off and I have to re-add it over and over. When I finally do stay logged in, scheduling is a nightmare. The interface for turning the purifier on or off at specific times is confusing and cumbersome. It should be straightforward, but instead it feels like I need a manual to figure out how to set a simple timer. Fix the stability issues and redesign the scheduling UI — this app shouldn’t be this difficult to use.

### 1/5 — App update crashes on start

*2026-06-28, version 3.7.1*

Edit: Just tried the latest update. Still crashes on open.

I was prompted to update the app this morning. I checked out the dev notes and clicked update. I no longer have a working app. It vanishes on start up. No error. No warning. I see the app start. The logo appears. And woosh! It's gone. No more convenience for me. No more managing my device from mobile. Another unnecessary digital disappointment disguised as an update.

### 1/5 — App no longer works

*2026-06-17, version 3.7.1*

Updated the app and now as soon as i login it tells me I have been logged out for security purposes. When the app works it’s great but now it’s useless.

### 1/5 — App update crashes on start

*2026-04-16, version 3.7.0*

I was prompted to update the app this morning. I checked out the dev notes and clicked update. I no longer have a working app. It vanishes on start up. No error. No warning. I see the app start. ### 1/5 — Achilles Heel

*2026-04-04, version 3.6.1*

The biggest issue holding back the Alen air cleaner is the worthless app.

Customer service doesn’t understand the app and can’t help, while the people who we are told are working on the app won’t speak to the users.

The scheduling feature some times works, but just as often doesn’t. In addition when the time changed for daylight savings time, I had to reprogram the scheduled times because the app couldn’t automatically adjust.

The readings on the app are questionable at best, and seem to change as time goes on. If you check the readings, and then check the readings for the same time and date a few days later, the numbers are often different. No one seems to be able to say which readings are the correct numbers.

The most recent OS update broke the graphing function altogether.

Everything is supposed to be fixed with the next app update, even though they didn’t appear to know some of the problems even existed.

And of course that magic update has been promised for months now, with no expected release date in sight.

### 1/5 — Broken Graph

*2026-03-31, version 3.6.1*

The graph disappeared. How am I supposed to know that it is tracking the air quality if the graph is blank in the app?

### 1/5 — Great air filters, but awful app

*2026-03-29, version 3.6.1*

The air filter devices work great but they will not connect to the app at all. The instructions that you can find online and through the app do not work. Obviously, they are not keeping up with the new operating system systems on the iPhone. Do not expect to connect these at all to the app. If you have these air filters, don’t even bother downloading the app.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2026-03-08, version 3.6.1*

Keep disconnecting. So frustrating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — app works

*2026-06-23, version 3.7.1*

app works well, it’s nice to see the air quality info for each device. it was easy to setup

### 5/5 — Best air purifiers!!

*2026-04-16, version 3.7.0*

I have a few other air purifiers, which are good, but one of the most popular other models is much louder — plus it app it’s terrible certainly comparison to this one. The pink noise thing here is real. The units are very easy to onboard and they work extremely well. The app is utterly fantastic. I don’t know why it has such a low rating. It’s very well designed easy to get around and it’s just getting better. If you’re looking for an air purifier look no further. I evaluated a dozen of the top ones and again I have several other brands but this one is by far the best!!

### 5/5 — Actually a Good App

*2026-02-04, version 3.6.1*

Way too many low star haters. The app has gotten pretty good actually.

### 5/5 — The app is getting better.

*2025-11-22, version 3.6.1*

The app has improved overtime. There’s now more functionality for every sensor and the user interface is easier to understand.

The notifications function also works well and let me know if there are problems with my air quality. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Accurate and user friendly

*2025-05-24, version 3.4.0*

I have no complaints about the app. I love the air filter. Large open concept fist floor and the 75i is perfect. It’s really quite even at high speed. I replaced my airmega filter with Alen. Alen is so much quieter and provides larger airflow. The app works great. I don’t know why the average review is low. I would recommend the Alen and the Alen air app.

### 5/5 — Schedule capability is awesome

*2025-02-02*

Replaced on of those Blue units after their non-HEPA filter prices almost doubled.

This unit (75i) is true HEPA, quiet and looks good.

Having schedules setup to power off when I’m not at home saves $$.

Very happy with both the App and the device.

### 5/5 — Schedule

*2024-07-18, version 3.1.1*

I like the new schedule. Please also add the ability to turn off the lights.

Thank you

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2023-05-12, version 2.0.0*

Keeps getting better. Makes me glad I bought Alen BreatheSmart air purifiers.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-12-09, version 1.2.2*

Love the functionality. Wish there was a schedule for sleep settings.

### 5/5 — Alen Air app

*2022-08-03, version 1.1.1*

This app works great and does pretty much what it needs to do. For me, that is seeing the air quality history and remote start stop.
Bonus feature: I was able to y turn off the lights on top of the unit!
