### 4/5 — New app update

*2025-12-17, version 3.17.56*

Love the videos. I come a Christian faith tradition AND heard about this from the Marty Solomon at the BEMA podcast. The material on here is awesome!!! Love Rabbi David Fohrman’s insights! It would be 5 stars. However, a recent app update lost the filter feature that’s available on the website. Bring that back please!

### 5/5 — Please undo update

*2025-01-22*

This is a great app but unfortunately, it just prompted me to update and I just think the update is horrible! I am not inclined to use the app this way and I’m hoping there is a way to undo the update. Still looking.

### 5/5 — Rabbi Fohrman intelligence

*2024-01-31, version 3.17.18*

A meaningful way to look at Torah and commandments

### 5/5 — Great for the whole family

*2023-09-11, version 3.17.10*

Great Torah insights presented in a way that keeps the whole family interested in learning. The animations make the learning painless for the youngsters and they remember the educational content as if it was told by Moses himself.

### 5/5 — Brillant

*2023-08-05*

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2023-07-30, version 3.17.8*

The best stuff on Earth!!!

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2023-07-21*

Thank you so much for all the work put into this app ! Now we can study Torah anywhere we are :)

### 5/5 — Love this content / app

*2022-12-29, version 3.14.0*

I have been a long time listener to the free content and have always loved the take / interpretation/ visuals of the Hebrew as I learn. I finally subscribed and only wish it would’ve done it sooner!

### 5/5 — Content is packed full of previously unseen gems!

*2022-10-14*

App development and features could be more convenient: being able to create a watch/ listening que would be great(!), when streaming to my TV if I could go forward or back no always starting from the beginning would be fantastic, having play speed variability for all items both listen and watching would make it more enjoyable.
Really appreciate the amazing content!

### 5/5 — I Love this app

*2022-04-12*

Very good. I found it very helpful.

### 4/5 — Brilliant! Download ASAP

*2022-01-06*

AlephBeta has been a game changer for me. I only wish I had stumbled across it much sooner. They should partner with other apps that are in the culture and have prominent Jews leading them to market, so more people will be exposed to this amazing content (i.e. PragerU).

A few features are missing that bring the app to a 4/5 for me but this in no way should deter anyone from downloading it immediately:

1. Ability to mark a video as “complete” and that completion to be reflected everywhere that video or podcast is shown throughout the app. Sometimes videos don’t reflect you’ve watched them, and they don’t always show you’ve watched the video everywhere it can be found

2. Ability to favorite videos

3. Add to watchlist - if you find something now you want to remember to watch later

4. Currently watching, so if you’re in the middle of a series and have to stop, you can pick back up and finish the series / collection

5. Publish date

6. Auto-play toggle off/on

7. Sometimes videos are mentioned as being “linked below” and they aren’t

### 5/5 — RABBI FORMAN!!!!!

*2021-10-26, version 3.9.13*

Ok, so alef beta is one of the best apps on my phone! The only problem is that Most of the speakers are kind of liberal, like very liberal and every dvar Torah is a political rant. Like the Tzom gedalia one 🙄 but rabbi Forman is amazing!!!! My mom listens to him every Friday when she’s cooking and gives us the dvar Torah on Shabbos!!!!!😀😀😀

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2021-10-12, version 3.9.10*

The teaching is amazing and easy to understand. The Torah comes alive in the lessons

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2021-09-05*

So informative and well put together makes me think about things a little deeper which we all need to do.

### 5/5 — Study the Chumash ‘light’ or in depth

*2021-05-31*

Wonderful videos and audios introducing or deepending your knowledge of the weekly Parsha, the holidays or HOT topics of the 5 Books of Moses. You’ll be entertained and challenged and generally amazed at the depths you discover.

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2021-05-18*

This app is incredible! A God send really. As someone who has been on this journey for a decade and finally my conversion is June 11th 2021. This app has been instrumental in my growth and knowledge into Judaism ✡️ I love doing the premium subscription it’s worth every single dime. I’d donate even more if I had the funds. How impactful this app has been for me and my growth. I will be leaving till the day I die and this app will forever be a part of my learning. Love the knowledge and understanding every pharcha each week. I emailed them and the responds was immediate and so kind and grateful in the response. I feel like I know Rabbi Forman as much as I hear his kind voice.
Thank you keep the incredible work up!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Aleph Beta

*2022-08-04, version 3.11.0*

Unable to reinstall after it got stuck “loading” for more than 12 hours. Also stops every 3 minutes to ask for donations even when you are a member signed in. More exhausting than the fast that starts Sunday.

### 1/5 — Love this app but…

*2022-06-04, version 3.9.32*

…I paid for subscription on April 6, 2022 and posted to my credit card April 7, 2022. Now, June 4, 2022 the app wants me to subscribe again saying I have used my free 30 hours this month! I have emailed them twice and no response. As much as I love Rabbi David Foreman I can’t recommend the app until they fix this issue for me. Then I will give 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on AppleTV

*2020-05-19, version 3.6.1*

Over the past four years that I’ve paid for a subscription, only one of their updates worked on the AppleTV.

To add to that injury, they took out functionality from their iPhone interface that used to allow me to do direct streaming to the AppleTV.

Screen Mirroring is not a viable option with its latency and frequent interruptions.

AlephBeta really needs to get their act together and provide a way to watch these videos through the AppleTV app and they need to fix their iPhone app by putting back the feature that allows it to directly stream to the AppleTV.

It’s been YEARS and I still wait for them to fix this after several bug reports.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work on Apple TV 4

*2019-08-01, version 3.2.5*

I love the incredible insight, teaching and hard work efforts that are put in to the all of AlephBeta ministry. But please fix the app or remove the app option for Apple TV 4.

### 1/5 — Problème de connexion

*2018-05-03*

Cordialement

### 2/5 — App doesn’t work correctly on ipad

*2021-02-05*

The content on the parsha is really good. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends. I love the time and effort put into each video. I watch it on my desktop and iPhone online.

I decided to download the app (3 year’s ago) at first it was working great. Not sure what has happened since last year. A little over a year the app has not been working properly. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes just the audio works. I have not tried using the app on my iPhone, but on the iPad, it does not work correctly. If this can be fixed, this would be an awesome way to watch and save the videos.

### 3/5 — Great content, app is 90% there

*2022-12-18, version 3.14.0*

Content is amazing, app is glitchy sometimes. Some of the video links do t work. Still the best Hebrew content out there.

### 3/5 — No search function

*2019-10-01, version 3.3.2*

Great content.

Actual app was good (not perfect) but then the update....

The new app seems like the usual tech trends these days - all “minimalist” to look cool but in reality a dumbed down experience.

There is no apparent way to find any old content or search for lectures or topics!

Update: standard features are slowly coming back online. It’s painfully slow but I assume this will be a decent app some time soon...

### 3/5 — Closed captions please!

*2019-03-21, version 3.0.2*

This would be more user friendly with closed captions. There are lots of times I would watch more videos but can’t because it’s a public setting and don’t want to be rude to people around me with the volume. I feel like most of the younger audiences feel the same way. Also inclusionary for the deaf and heard of hearing

### 3/5 — Listening to your supporters!

*2018-08-19, version 3.0.0*

You have good teachings! But it is very difficult to share with others when they have to purchase from you in order to listen to it. Have a problem with that. I just stop sharing it now!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wisdom of the Sages

*2026-04-17*

Amazing support, if you have any issues they’re the best. The content itself is profound and life changing stuff, it’s worth the asking price in my opinion to justify the monthly expense. I had an initial issue with Apple integration and they fixed it super quickly and professionally.

However there’s been a major loss of functionality on latest update, kind of hard to navigate now and find content since. I’ll wait it out and see if it improves.

A+ support
A+ content

As of last update, functionality could improve, but I will continue to support and promote this group of scholars with the hopes and good faith they are working on giving the users the best possible experience that also aligns with their vision.

### 5/5 — Finest Torah out there today

*2025-10-12, version 3.17.52*

I am a ba'al teshuva who has been to many yeshivas. Rabbi Fohrman is sharing some of the most deep, relevant, and relatable Torah out there today.

### 5/5 — Mind-blowing Insights into Torah Stories You Thought You Knew!

*2025-09-28, version 3.17.52*

‘nuff said. Enjoy. Be well — and do good.

### 5/5 — Amazing Torah

*2025-08-27, version 3.17.49*

Everyone should Joy !!!!

### 5/5 — The veil is parted

*2025-08-09*

I have been studying Torah for more than 40 years. But since studying with Rabbi Foreman and his Torah scholars at Alef Beta my understanding of Torah has increased exponentially. How can I explain with words the joy, the awe, I receive studying so deeply, so connectedly? I am closer to HaShem every time I study Torah with Alef Beta. I study from other orthodox sources, Alef Beta helps me see behind the veil. Don’t fret about the subscription. It’s worth 100 times more. All the Torah scholars need to be fed, housed, clothed. Don’t say it’s too expensive. The benefits of Torah studies are a thousand fold.
It’s my go to Torah study app.

### 5/5 — Water to my soul

*2025-08-09*

Exceptional. So simple. So many layers deep. I personally benefit so much from these teachings. It is like water to my soul.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I’ve been wanting

*2025-07-22, version 3.17.47*

It’s well made, the content is solid, the tone is respectful of different traditions, and the kids content is excellent.

### 5/5 — Torah

*2025-02-21, version 3.17.43*

A fantastic app the videos are fantastic. Every person involved with Torah study are absolutely brilliant.
I had second thought about the price of membership, but it is totally worth

### 5/5 — Amazing lessons

*2025-02-14*

Ever since I got Aleph Beta I’ve been having serious brain explosions. When the pieces all come together it gives an amazing point. I love watching the videos, and playing Where Else in the Torah Have you seen this

### 5/5 — MD

*2025-01-22, version 3.17.42*

Pure genius, delightfully presented, allowing the listener to explore the awesome beauty and interconnectivity of the Torah, with a focus on asking good questions about the actual text of Torah, so as to come to conclusions, so as to more deeply understand the Torah worldview, which I believe to be God’s word, as was “chanelled”by Moses in a manner which I would compare to how Mozart wrote, by channeling (“hearing”) the “divine music” which quietly, but majestically, surrounds each of us.
