### 5/5 — Upcoming fire season

*2020-09-01, version 1.0.1*

Such a great idea! Fire season in SD is no joke - looks like this was implemented just in time. This will be a great resource for San Diegans living in areas affected by fires!

### 5/5 — Forward-thinking

*2020-09-01, version 1.0.1*

Awesome way to manage fire risks while minimizing inconvenience to customers. The alerts are really helpful as they allow us to plan around potential outages and also beware of fire risk in the area. Way to go SDGE!

### 5/5 — Peace of mind

*2020-09-01, version 1.0.1*

Thank you for building this app! It is simple and very easy to use and most importantly gives me peace of mind that I’ll be alerted if my power will be shut off so I can be prepared.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-08-31, version 1.0.0*

Very easy to use

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-08-30, version 1.0.0*

Thanks SDG&E. Great app with very useful information for this upcoming fire season

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad info

*2025-01-16, version 3.2.10*

This is a good idea if it actually knew when my power was out. Without power now (and it’s freezing cold in my house) , I was trying to get info on restoration and they insist my power is on. Pretty useless app.

### 1/5 — Someone is drinking the kool-aid

*2021-01-29, version 1.5.0*

This app is a joke. Totally useless. Shut off and power up times are off by hours.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate and tardy

*2020-12-08, version 1.3.0*

I installed this app in hopes of getting alerted before and during an outage for my home. Unfortunately, not only is the app incredibly late (notified me that there was an outage far after the fact), but it’s inaccurate to boot. My app seems to think that power is restored in my area when I can assure you, it definitely isn’t! We need to get more prior notice about planned outages, more accurate alerts for unplanned outages, and accurate information on estimated and actual restoration. A direct form to report an outage through the app would be nice, too.

I would gladly rate this higher if this app did what it claimed to do. Unfortunately, it currently performs poorly on all fronts. I hope the developers can look into this reporting and resolve it in the next few updates.

### 1/5 — Virtually useless

*2020-12-03, version 1.3.0*

It took 12 hours for the app to tell me my power was out. A few hours later it said my power was restored - it wasn't. A fancy app is of no use of the data it provides doesn't match reality.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t include planned outages

*2025-03-21, version 3.2.11*

We’ve been hammered by frequent planned outages in SD North County. Why in the world wouldn’t they include them? Just add the SDGE Outage Map website to your Home Screen.

### 2/5 — ok. but needs unplanned outages

*2020-10-11, version 1.1.0*

this would be a good app if it also showed and alerted on unplanned events. Having to open up a browser to find the outage, this app doesn’t help solve that problem. Five stars if it included that.

### 4/5 — MORE UPDATES

*2025-01-22, version 3.2.10*

The app is fine. My complaint is this: Even if you have a back up generator, this provides limited power, especially if you also have a well. The backup generators provided by SDGE do not provide us with enough power to truly survive without power. Having elderly and people who need electricity to carry out basic life needs for medicine etc end up hospitalized. SDGE needs to provide more frequent updates. SDGE should be updating customers every 12 hours when power is out about the status. Power should be restored when the winds are weak just to let customers get water. System is broken. Can’t keep going on like this.

### 5/5 — Broken

*2021-01-28, version 1.5.0*

Recent update broke the app will no longer open asking me to update when I already have updated.

Update app has started working.

### 5/5 — This is a great app

*2020-12-10, version 1.3.0*

I love the alerts, I love knowing when my power might go off. I also love the map capabilities. Great use of technology and sharing information with your customers. Congrats.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-12-10, version 1.3.0*

I used the app for the last outages and the app worked great. I was able to register my address as well as my moms and it was perfect for both addresses! Thank you SDG&E!

### 5/5 — 💕💕💕💕

*2020-10-08, version 1.0.5*

Love this app!

### 5/5 — Love the real-time data!

*2020-09-23, version 1.0.5*

Now that there are so many more “suburban” areas being affected by power shut-offs with Santa Ana winds… It’s nice to have real time data at my fingertips so I can make better decisions for my daily travels.

### 5/5 — A Useful App Before and During Wildfires

*2020-09-08, version 1.0.3*

Great looking app that provides links to SDG&E’s Weather Awareness system which provides real-time information and maps. Very useful resource from San Diego’s utility.

### 5/5 — Very informative

*2020-09-05, version 1.0.2*

Such a great idea

### 5/5 — Great information

*2020-09-04, version 1.0.2*

Very helpful to be able to track outages not only for my house but for my family that may be impacted. Really easy to use layout and design

### 5/5 — Current Info and Easy to Use

*2020-09-02, version 1.0.1*

Great app. Super clean and easy to use. Info is super current and relevant.

### 5/5 — Forward thinking

*2020-09-02, version 1.0.1*

I wish there were more applications out there that anticipated the needs of their users before they are in an emergency situation of being without power for an extended period of time. Props to SDG&E for leading the charge.
