I can never trust or rely on it for accuracy. Thinking about leaving Alerus entirely as I need to have consistent app access and this is just not it. ### 1/5 — Worst banking app I’ve used *2022-01-23, version 18.5.5* I know what online banking platform they are using and it is a great platform. However, whatever customizations and add-on products they have added to this make it horrible. The balances display incorrect, you cannot use a password keeper to populate your username and password - it always clears the username. The PFM tool would be great if it was not the first thing you see. Yes managing your accounts from one spot is nice, but it also gives Alerus access to all that information also. Bring the app back to its basics and they would have a fine product, instead they just have a junk product we all have to suffer through. ### 1/5 — App is okay when it works but.. *2022-01-21* Keeping it simple, out of the several months I have kept this app (so I can try to log in), I was successful only ONE time. The app is basic but works well enough to let you see your balances. It’s amazing that in this day and age in 2022 an app can be so incredibly shotty for such a company serving such an important need. ### 1/5 — Terrible Internet and Mobile Banking *2022-01-14* Constant processing errors when logging in. The interface is pretty much unusable. Everything is overlapping and is a pain to look at and navigate. Only good for checking your balance IF you can get that to pop up and show your current balance. And the transaction history is all over the place. Sorry to say, but honestly, they need to replace whoever is working on these systems and get some people who know how to run apps and websites. But for the last year about, it has not worked for me. I called a couple times to get it fixed, they said they fixed it but they hadn’t. Every time I try to login it says it is an invalid username etc… But it is my correct username and password. I had them change it for me even, and still did not work. Statements crash or say network error. Transaction detail search is worthless. Really an antiquated app in the marketplace of online banking apps. Desperately needs an update. I don’t know what to do and I’m getting really mad. ### 1/5 — Alerus Mobile App *2024-05-14* The mobile app only works as a mobile app if I restart the iPhone. It should be on the first screen! But, no, you must go through a maze of tabs and pull-downs and half the time I still give up before finding it. I am seriously considering changing banks because of this. Facial recognition does not always work, and I had two checks rejected using the deposit function. As you can see from the overall score, this is a very poor app and Alerus does nothing to improve it. ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Love it!!! *2019-09-11, version 18.3.1* Love it plain and simple ### 4/5 — One Fix Needed…. *2021-11-16* App is great, but one fix is needed for an issue that has been around for awhile now — when the app automatically logs a user out it doesn’t give them the option to log back in with Face ID; it brings users to a website-ish, manual login page. Temporary fix is to force close the app and reopen. ### 3/5 — Okay but needs a little work *2022-04-02* I’ve been using the app for years and it is overall very useful. However, there is one bug I’d like fixed. It appears that much of the functionality is part of a web app. If the app times out it leaves the user at a web based sign on page. This is not the initial app login page that supports Face ID. If you use Face ID to get into the app, check your balances, then start using some other app the Alerus app times out. When you open it again, you are on the web sign in page, no Face ID available. You must actually close the app (flip it off the screen) and reopen to get to the Face ID screen. Very annoying. Please have the app reset to the initial sign on screen when it exits or times out! ### 3/5 — Login Issues *2020-09-27* Whatever the update was yesterday broke the app. I can no longer sign in either by typing or with touch. Typing enters no characters. Touch crashes the app... Was ok prior to that, login was always super slow compared to other apps. ### 3/5 — Frustrating *2019-09-20* This app is not any better. My small town, two locations bank app is better. App is always crashing, or saying I can’t log in. There’s no showing me what my balance was after each transaction which would be an amazing feature. There’s times where I spend money and it’s taken out of my account but there’s nothing in my transaction history. Can’t login with finger print.
