## What is Alia Anime AI?

Meet Alia Anime AI, your private anime AI companion app designed to run directly on your device.

Chat with anime-style AI companions who can answer questions, help with ideas, react with expressive emotions, and optionally remember details you choose to keep so conversations feel more personal over time.

The app includes Alia, Mahaut, Tim and Miko each with their own visual style and companion personality. You can talk, type, ask for help, explore thoughts, share images, or simply enjoy a friendly anime-inspired presence whenever you want.

Alia Anime AI is built around a local-first, privacy-focused experience. The app uses an on-device Gemma model. The model file is downloaded during setup and requires about 2.4 GB of device storage. After installation, AI chat processing runs locally on your device.

Your conversations and Local Memory are not sent to a third-party AI chat service. If Local Memory is enabled, saved memories are stored on your device and can be enabled, disabled, or deleted from Settings.

Alia Anime AI also includes built-in on-device content filtering. Messages are checked before and after AI responses using multilingual safeguards. The app filters unsafe or inappropriate requests, including explicit content, self-harm instructions, hateful content, dangerous instructions, and prompt-injection attempts. If a user expresses thoughts of self-harm, the app responds with care and provides crisis resources in multiple languages.

With expressive anime-style reactions, voice chat, image recognition, multiple companions, local memory, and on-device safety checks, Alia Anime AI brings a more visual, personal, and privacy-focused feeling to AI interaction.

* Settings are now accessible directly from the conversation window.
* Swipe left or right on a companion to cycle through available companions. Switching companions also opens that companion’s conversation while preserving chat history.
* Swipe up or down on a companion to change their outfit. This only updates the outfit and keeps the current conversation unchanged.

Major bug fix
* Fixed an issue where downloaded models were not properly aligned with the library, which could prevent the app from working correctly.
