It’s ok. Each time he resets everything and it’s fine for a while but then bang. Either the app does an update and stops working or it just stops for no reason. We can even be in the same Wi-fi but it says connection failed When it works it is great but it’s just too unreliable. ### 1/5 — Not working on EE *2019-01-03, version 4.0.1* Does not work Remotely on EE network ### 1/5 — Poor Support *2018-09-04, version 4.0.1* I recently downloaded this app on both iPhone & iPad and noticed that footage can only be fast forwarded at X4 speed on the iPhone (very slow & painful) and bizarrely there is no option at all on the iPad version to fast forward footage during playback. I have tried contacting alien’s technical support regarding this but their website is just as bad! Robert, There is no issue with broadband as the footage plays fine it’s more the apps that are the problem. It would be nice to have the option of fast forwarding on IPad & more fast forward speeds like x8,x16 on phone app ### 2/5 — Unreliable *2018-08-16, version 4.0.1* I am always having to reboot my system or delete and download the app as the cameras are not showing on my phone. I’m not sure if it is my system or the app. Most likely the app. Please sort! ### 3/5 — Great app *2018-07-03, version 4.0.1* I do love having this app on my phone, but recently I have had to delete the app and download again a few times. Works no problem on my tv but sometimes the app just doesn’t connect on my phone. I can go a few months with it working perfectly then it just stops. Not sure if there is a new update needed but hate being without it as I use it more on my phone than I do on my tv. I have lots of phone data and my home WiFi is great. Since the last big update I have not been able to connect at all. Have to keep refreshing cam to eventually get it working - even if viewing single channel. Same problem when trying to PTZ cams. Problem bad at home on fast local network but much worse from remote WiFi networks. The UI is too bright. Problems present on old Alien Pro and latest Alien MaxPix. App is so close to being really good. For a few days I was able to view the cameras at work. Trying to view at home which is the main reason for having this app is useless. Connects to the 16 cameras but there all blank. Now when viewing at work I'm only getting 4 cameras on view. No-one knows what's wrong at alien hq. Let's pray we don't get broken into. Not user friendly ### 1/5 — Failed *2021-08-17, version 4.0.1* This app has now completely failed. Does not connect and continuously reports a failed connection. I have tried over internal and external IP and both connections fail. I have tested the ports and the data and RTSP ports are declared open over external IP but closed over internal IP. The router still shows port forwarding as defined in the set up instructions. After spending masses of money for cctv system that only worked correctly for 3 years. This being an updated version to my old 1. No customer support from the company unless paying £49 + vat for half an hour time. Said to get into with installer who has stopped using them. A waste of a lot of money shall not update system with Alien ### 1/5 — Terrible and cheap *2020-11-17, version 4.0.1* The DVR product and the app is cheap and unreliable. The app interface and the DVR interface is not intuitive and difficult to navigate. The app performs poorly and will require constant refreshing and sometimes reconfiguration to get a camera view, despite having 500Mb fibre broadband. I've had the DVR product for less than 2 years and the cheap Seagate hard drive failed and I had to replace the drive (Western Digital) myself at my own cost because the manufacturer/supplier would not support my request for replacement under warranty. ### 1/5 — Crap! *2019-12-13, version 4.0.1* No live view but I can see playback; stupid useless rubbish! It's the best one I have installed and it works well with my IPhone 4. It would be useful if the playback mode allowed you to select alarm activated recordings/alerts just as the desktop version does. Playback is great and now I can operate the relays from the app and now can add more than 16 devices. Thanks Steve ### 4/5 — Ptz control *2015-11-13, version 4.0.1* Ptz control is too sensitive and adjusts in too large increments, one small swipe should allow a small increment and one large a bigger one, but only seems to work as the later. Would be good to see this sorted.
