I have r really been helped by their content and all the doctors, therapists etc they showcase. Please check it out. I believe they will be very helpful and gen healing.

### 5/5 — To be understood, what a wonderful thing!

This app is so helpful and easy to integrate into daily mindfulness practice. Alkeme acknowledges the stressors and issues many folks face but are not talked about in the mainstream wellness space. So grateful!

Representation matters. As a social worker, I’m able learn and use videos for work. For myself, I’ve enjoyed the I AM workshops and every sleep wave video. Solid information. Look forward to exploring the app more. Thanks for the groundwork. Let’s make Alkeme.

### 5/5 — Alkeme health for the win!

*2024-03-13*

Stumbled upon the app when Ryan made a guest appearance on the podcast The Pivot close to a year ago. Life changing! Mini therapy sessions with yourself and force you to do the work. Thank you for having the gaul to bring awareness to having a healthy mental health state!

### 5/5 — This app is great!

Alkeme has provided me with a much needed platform to learn about self care. It gives information you can use intentionally in your life to become a better version of yourself. The motivation and meditations they provide will help you learn more about yourself and your emotions.

### 5/5 — My daily Self Care

*2024-02-05*

Sometimes I have to take a step back and care about me! Part of the process is to listen and learn! I embrace the words of wisdom given on any one of the Waves and my goal is to take that wave each and every day!

### 5/5 — Such an amazing tool for healing!

I love how diverse the app’s topics are and I love the different range of therapists offered. Thank God that there’s free access to everything on the app after you make an account!

I wish there was a way I could donate to each and every therapist that has helped me on my healing journey. Each video helps me uncover a new layer of myself and gives me a new reason to embrace and love myself even more each day.

I just want to say thank to every single person who brought Alkeme to life, thank you for all of your continuous hard work no matter what part you play on the team, thank you for making your platform available to those who need you the most, and thank you for allowing God to be front and center in what you are doing. If God before us then whom shall ever be against us!

Please continue going forward with faith and love, our community needs more understanding and healing thank you for sharing so much with us. I love each and every one of you on the Alkeme team and appreciate your hard work! God bless you and May you continue to prosper in all that you’re doing💛

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — 1 Rated Victimhood App

*2023-10-23*

Was so glad to see several PoC chiming in and making sure people realize that apps like this are NOT what our country needs. People who think like this, that black people need their own mental health apps, only want to divide us and teach us that we're all victims. I'm not a victim. You're not a victim. The only person holding you back or keeping you down is yourself. If anyone tells you different, they are NOT looking out for your best interests. Take control of your own life and demand better from people who believe in crap like this app.

### 1/5 — Racist and data mining

*2023-06-25*

First off, a black only app!? Seriously? This is 2023. All of the stuff MLK fought for and you are putting us right back where we started! Disgusting. We are all humans. Stop dividing us again!

The are just using us as scapegoats. They track everything you do and make money off of your searches, browsing history, etc. This company doesn’t care about “black” people. They care about making tons of money, just like BLM. You all need to wake up and see what’s going on. They are using us as slaves again, just digital leaves this time!!

Stop the segregation. This puts us back so far. Sad and pathetic that Apple even allows this garbage in the store. Sad and pathetic people fall for it too.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2023-06-20, version 8.200.1*

Not inclusive to other races

### 1/5 — Cool app but

*2023-06-19, version 8.200.1*

Since my skin is lighter does that mean I cant use this???

### 4/5 — Update your content please or remove subscription paywall

*2024-12-17*

Originally Loved the apps /concept and content but for a monthly subscription fee I expect more. There has not been any updates to content in almost 2 years. No Apple Health connectivity and no engagement with subscribers since 2022.
Feels as though the Promise was not nurtured.
The Blackfullness appis free and engaging check it out .

### 4/5 — Wonderful!

*2023-10-23, version 8.300.1*

I read the reviews first to see how this app is before downloading and I gotta disagree with a few of the negative ones. This app is not only for black folks. It is primarily directed towards us but just by using the app I almost immediately found 2 courses that can be for anyone of any race. “How to validate others” was a really nice one anyone can use! Same with “Identifying and Understanding your emotions”. These apply to anyone of any color and shade. Same with many others.

I really like the free trial! I watched a couple courses and really enjoyed what's here to offer! Though I will say I can find videos like this for free on YouTube but I like what's here! The subscription isn't bad in terms of price and I like that. I also appreciate that it's directed for Black Wellness but again anyone can enjoy this or learn something from it.

I'd say this is pretty good :)

### 4/5 — A Beautiful App.

### 5/5 — Great App

Just what I was looking for, an app specifically for African-Americans and our specific needs!

### 5/5 — I love this app!

*2025-08-29, version 9.100.1*

DOWNLOADDDD! This app helped me with skill building and I’m glad to support a black owned app as well.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2025-02-18*

This was an app I accidentally subscribed to but so happy I did. It took months for me to remember I had this app but when I did, I was mad I didn’t remember sooner. As a person who “holds in all in”, and raised in a family/community that believes therapy is taboo, it felt so good to be seen and “heard” in this space. They have topics for everyone and beginner friendly for those introducing themselves to a mental health. I was happy I made it through a majority of the modules and lessons. I would encourage any Black individual to at least give Alkeme a try. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Liza

### 5/5 — New Concept

*2024-11-09, version 8.801.1*

Brain health is optimal. There is physical health, spiritual health why would we not address mental health? Love it!!!
