## Newest reviews (15 of 45)

### 4/5 — Almost great and very advanced

*2023-06-15, version 7.5*

Love all that this can achieve with the advanced rule making, but it’s missing one feature and it’s the ability to use the app remotely (rather then just locally) which the app called “Hue Essentials” is capable of.

### 3/5 — A good app, but…

*2023-04-20, version 7.1*

A good app, but a poor cousin to the Android version. Furthrrmore, for some reason, the developers think that the color white should designate that a white bulb is off and black that it is on. Off should be black, colors what they are for colored bulbs that are on, and white for a white bulb that is on.

### 4/5 — Hue lights and automation? This is THE app you need.

*2020-04-27, version 4.10*

One time full version app purchase, only app with fading, power automation capabilities!
Not perfect, but they seem to keep adding features. Segregates the hue motion features so light levels become triggers or conditions like a few other apps. Would love to see greater options to set up a hue tap switch (multiple press was not supported - supplement with Hue Essentials for free.) Home/Away also not supported :(

### 5/5 — Great app thanks

*2019-02-23, version 4.4*

Works great thank you👍👍👍👍👍

### 4/5 — The only app to use with Hue

*2019-02-20, version 4.4*

After years of frustrations and limitations with other apps, this one lets you do what you want. That being said, things can get complicated...fast. And actually there are a few improvements to be made that would really kick it out of the park (such as consistent treatment of triggers). Well done team and keep going!

### 5/5 — Settings at your fingertips

*2019-02-05, version 4.4*

Great app easy to use & set up

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-01-04, version 4.2*

I was bought the Philips hue bulbs for xmas and unfortunately my phone wasn't new enough to download the official Philips hue app.. started to have a breakdown thinking I'd now have to buy a new phone when I came across this app. Managed to connect my bulbs to Alexa and now have the freedom to change the colour of my bulbs woohoo 😁

### 5/5 — Great update

*2018-11-28, version 4.1*

Great update to this app

### 3/5 — Ambient light sensor

*2018-05-27, version 3.0*

I purchased the full version of this app so that I could turn on the lights when the ambient light gets too low. But the option is not available. Otherwise, things work as expected. Also, the developer says they would prefer an email, but I cannot find an address.

### 5/5 — Scenes

*2018-03-08, version 3.0*

Great app with lots of features to explore. I love the ability to create scenes and modify them in any way I wish. Tip- the fade facility works in the opposite way to the way I imagined, it works up to the time, not fade to off.

### 5/5 — As a auto off timer re-occurring among other great things

*2017-12-20, version 3.0*

It’s fantastic okay it may not look that polished and it doesn’t have all them bells and whistles but so what because it’s got all what you need under it’s powerful Bonnet...
Whoever made this app as one great big IQ.. very clever person..
for example I need a hall way light to auto turn off, say after 2 minuets and I couldn’t find anything I tried ifttt and all the apps, yep I tried everything but this app as it all.. saddens me to see such negativity on the previous reviews because this is the best hue app on the market the other apps are just for show this app is actually really useful and it’s as things your be using again and again,
Most of these Philips hue apps are just to impress your shallow guests and silly friends with your meaningless flashing light Display but this is a serious practical app and a must for any hue user...

### 4/5 — Hue

*2017-12-08, version 2.2*

It’s very cool

### 5/5 — Sweet!

*2017-11-23, version 2.0*

It’s better than the others out there

### 4/5 — all 4 HUE hits a triple

*2017-11-08, version 2.0*

The app all 4 HUE is the easiest app to use to control your Hue lights. Other apps have such complicated “rules” and the timers are horrible. I’ve been on Apple Mac’s since 1989 so I can usually navigate to find a solution to fit my needs but not on most Hue apps. All I need to do now is figure out how to separate lights in a group so I can put alternate “turn off” on one of them. I bet I find it relatively quick! Thank you all 4 HUE crew.

### 5/5 — Best of Hue

*2017-10-28, version 2.0*

I don't know why it took me so long to hear about this app. It's definitely the best of the bunch.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Abandonware

*2025-11-27, version 8.4*

It seems it is not being updated to work with the Hue Bridge Pro. Buyer beware.

### 1/5 — Looks good, performs poorly

*2018-01-30, version 3.0*

Trial version doesn’t allow testing of ‘advanced’ functions, which don’t work properly. Since buying full version and using this app as default, lights turn on and off at random, frustrating waste of money!!

### 1/5 — Unresponsive

*2018-01-15, version 3.0*

Lag with the app, in coordination with the website, caused the extension to be purchased rather than the main app upgrade. But they have ignored multiple emails about it. They need to rip off customers in order to make a living apparently. Bad business.

Response to developer - I’m sorry if I gave the impression that I was 15 and ignorant. I am not. I emailed you from the app at the email you include below and that was approximately 1.5-2 weeks ago. I am quite aware that this is a 3rd party app also. When I purchased the upgrade, I first clicked on the multi upgrade and realized what it was and then went to the correct one. However, due to lag in the system the purchase ended up being the first one rather than the correct one and this I have the extension portion without having the upgrade of the main part (when I had no need for the extension). I emailed all of this to your email and had no reply. Only then did I give the review.

Second response - I check my spam filter daily due to work concerns and it has not come on. But I got your second one over the weekend and responded to it (also over the weekend). Note, the second arrived without issue. You may tell me what you first said or resend that one. Your second did not address my issue, it was only a repeat of your response here.

### 1/5 — Won’t download

*2017-10-23, version 2.0*

I had this previously on my iPad, I have been trying to download it again, I just get a spinning circle in the new App Store, anyone manage to download this recently? I was asked to update my review, as this was explained by the developer as a problem with the App Store, while I do appreciate the developer getting in touch I can’t upgrade my review, I haven’t been able to download the app.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2017-10-12, version 1.4*

The developer is unresponsive. I purchased the full version because the limited version is, well, limited and allows virtually nothing to be done. The full version is clunky and not intuitive. Have fun with my 4$. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Rules engine very limited

*2017-08-13, version 1.4*

Quite disappointed. I paid for the full version as I was hoping for a decent rules engine that could do things like only turn on my spot lights if there is motion and the lamp is off. I thought this would be a quality app as it was recommended by Hue. However it's it hard to use and the rules engine very limited. Will look for something else.

### 1/5 — Don't waste your time

*2017-08-05, version 1.4*

Way better apps available elsewhere

### 2/5 — Worth it for bridge backup, but no Bridge Pro support

*2025-12-04, version 8.4*

Update: zero support for Bridge Pro, and app now appears abandoned. Original Review: Philips still provides no way to backup system settings. If the bridge fails, many hours of setup time can be lost. This app is currently the only way to create a backup of the Hue Bridge configuration. For that critical feature alone, it is worth the few dollars asked.

### 2/5 — Hue Bridge Pro

*2025-09-30*

Will this be updated to work with the Hue Bridge Pro? Doesn’t seem to be working for me.

### 2/5 — Crash on saving a new scene

*2016-08-03, version 1.3*

Just bought the paid version and want to try out adding a new scene. It crashed every time and kick you out to the home screen. Didn't pay attention to the rating which only had 2 reviews so far its entire life.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worth it for bridge backup.

*2025-04-20*

Philips still provides no way to backup system settings. If the bridge fails, many hours of setup time can be lost. This app is currently the only way to create a backup of the Hue Bridge configuration. For that critical feature alone, it is worth the few dollars asked.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2025-03-15, version 8.4*

We use it with our DIYHUE emulators and it is easy to use

### 5/5 — Perfect App to control your Philips HUE System

*2024-09-25, version 8.3*

No doubt "All 4 HUE" is the Perfect App to control your Philips HUE System. You can easily organize your rooms, your lights, and even your scenari, dynamic or not. It works perfectly just after the push of One button.

Finally an app to control it all from your computer and not only from your iPhone!

### 5/5 — Excellent app! Highly recommend!!

*2024-08-31, version 8.3*

All4Hue is so incredibly useful! If you want to dive deep into the intricate settings of your Hue bridge, lights, scenes and more, THIS is the app for you. In all my years of being a Hue fanatic and trying out so many different editing/scenes apps, this is the only one I've ever been able to find that allows you to easily set the FADE TIME of each and every scene, and it saves it directly on the bridge!!!! No more extensive and cumbersome automations in HomeKit or Siri Shortcuts to make your lights perfectly fade in and out when you walk in the room or enter your home (motion sensor needed). You can make any scene feel elite now! And while that's my personal favorite ability with this app, there are SO MANY other settings that are usually burried so deeply in the bridge's system that you get to access and fine tune with this app! I am so incredibly thankful for All4Hue and to the developer, YOU ARE AWESOME!

### 5/5 — Best Philips Hue bridge customization app!

*2023-05-22, version 7.5*

I love this app. It lets me do almost anything imaginable with my smart lighting and simple appliances.

Using this app with the Philips Hue bridge and zigbee devices you can program complex lighting and/or smart plug schemes.

I have the Hue bulbs all through my house. Some have been setup with “scenes” that slowly brighten or adjust colors over 30 or more minutes. Others are controlled by passive infrared (presence) sensors, but only when other lights are off or the room is a certain brightness already. Different levels of light based on the time of day, or how the wall switch was manipulated.

The possibilities are endless!

P.S. - Thank you for adding in the extra FoH switch options!

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2022-08-02, version 6.0*

Philips should hire the team that wrote this app and make it part of their standard offering!

I wanted my lights to be intelligent with regards to brightness vs. the time of day. I use a couple Lutron buttons though, and the main Hue app has minimal features for them.
All 4 Hue let me use a few “alarms”, a “generic memory sensor” (just an accessible variable), and an additional condition in the rules to switch my lights on to the perfect scene based on the time of day! It’s like a locally run IFTTT programming interface.

### 5/5 — best of the lot

*2020-07-27, version 4.10*

very easy to set up, excellent documentation when needed, explained as well as instructive.
only ‘fun’ aspect was moving the blocks shuffle/jiggle on the Bulbs pages.

### 5/5 — Powerful rule-based automation

*2020-03-18, version 4.10*

Having invested in the Hue ecosystem my goal was to have a fully autonomous setup than responds intelligently to movement and light variation in multiple rooms.

Having tried many other apps I was about to give up hope of achieving this believing it was a limitation of the Hue Motion Sensors... until I stumbled upon this app! The rule-based approach unlocks huge potential in these sensors and has allowed me to quite quickly achieve a more intelligent setup.

Yes, it does require a little more time to understand how to get the most from the rules but the benefits are huge. If you’re looking for a powerful rule-based Hue app then definitely check this out.

### 5/5 — Works well for auto off

*2019-06-30, version 4.5*

I have used ITTT to turn on outside hue lights with Ring doorbell motion detection but there was no way to have it turn off. Using this app I managed to set up a rule to switch off after 3 minutes if it is on after a certain time (night time). Works very well

### 5/5 — Best app

*2019-05-18, version 4.5*

The app does everything never no problems, better then the Hue app itself way more control over devices.
