You can map birds with GPS, make your own lists+ explore 5 search modes, all bird names in 19 languages. It has been developed by passionate field ornithologists and published ecologists. Species can be sorted in several ways: – A-Z bird names - choose between 19 (!) languages: Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Latvian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, and Swedish) – Sort by group – through gallery view or foldable list – In all cases irregular visitors can be faded in or out A simple identification key narrows the species down (e.g. by foot colour, bill shape, length of tail etc.) leading to the bird searched for and a choice of similar species. You can also look for fragments of a species name through a search screen – the search for “finch”, for example, shows all the species which include the word “finch” in the species’ name. Despite the abundance of species provided: in order to precisely identify a bird no previous knowledge or ornithological expert skills are required. Of decisive help here are the qualitatively high-class large-scale images which show all bird species in their natural environment and, amongst others, originate from renowned photographers of the wildlife agency SUNBIRD IMAGES. The pictures have been chosen from thousands in order to allow the most reliable identification. The choice of photos is essential for identification: Bird pictures which only show the bird from front, like it is the case for many of the sloppily developed apps on the market today, are of little use for birders. This app provides extensive texts and data for each bird species with information to: Description, ecology, population size, frequency, habitat and much more. Bedauerlicherweise ist auch die Schriftgröße (z.B. in der Startansicht "Liste" auf einem iPod Touch iOS 14.4) verkleinert worden. Muss das sein? Das Phänomen ist eigentlich alles andere als unerklärlich, sogar sehr einleuchtend und meiner Meinung nach praktisch: Einfach den Lautlos-Modus deaktivieren und schon funktioniert das Abspielen von Rufen und Gesängen wieder. ### 4/5 — Alle Vögel Deutschlands *2020-02-07, version 1.8* Benutze die App seit ca. zwei Jahren und bin sehr zufrieden bis vor wenigen Tagen der Ton für die Vogelstimmen nicht mehr lief - habe ich vielleicht eine Update verpasst? Lohnt sich wirklich die App! ### 2/5 — Bitte nach Lebensraum filtern *2018-05-26, version 1.8* Höre ich Gezwitscher im Wald (See/Garten/Meer) will ich Wald-Vögel filtern, damit ich den Gesang aller Waldvögel durchprobieren kann. Dann gebe ich vier Sterne. So kann ich schnell ähnliche Stimmen identifizieren und vielleicht auch anhand des Fotos sehen wer da singt. Die Unterteilung nach Art und Gattung mag Biologen interessieren, bei der Bestimmung muss ich pragmatisch durchprobieren. Damit habe ich mit Vogelstimmen-Trainer mein beachtliches Wissen erlangt.
