Never in my life had I had such a poor customer service experience with a company. To start, once I began my free trial I realized this whole app is either unpopular literature or AI slop. As such, I went to cancel my free trial but could not for the life of me figure out how. Of course they wouldn’t make it easy, because then they’d make no money!! I emailed the company in January and unfortunately trusted it would be taken care of and forgot to check back in. Flash forward to today - I’ve been charged the absolutely insane price of 25 bucks a month. I once again reach out and the company calls me confused? That’s when they respond at all. This app is a worthless scam don’t even sign up for the free trial. ### 1/5 — This is a fraudulent site. *2026-08-04, version 4.0.6* This sight appears to be legit but doesn’t have any of the audio books or ebooks they advertise. I have also been trying to cancel my subscription for the past year reaching out to them 18 times without any success. I’ve reported them to my bank and Apple. Don’t get scammed! ### 1/5 — Scam app - DO NOT USE!!! *2026-07-25, version 4.0.6* Terrible app and misleading scam. I signed up for a “free trial” - instantly got charged $1USD to use it. They have the crappiest selection of old books and the app is hard to use properly. I couldn’t find the cancellation through the website or the app - it is hidden so they can charge people for the full $24.99USD subscription that they can’t get out of. Then never make the mistake of signing up with them again. Nothing I downloaded worked and the book I tried to read on their online reader was literally just a long summary. The catalog is very limited. There’s no clear cancellation option on the website or app, which is a huge red flag. The site is also not user friendly. Even the search bar is buried at the bottom of the page. I tried to cancel by emailing the address their chatbot gave me, and the email bounced back. That’s honestly unacceptable. Very frustrating experience overall. ### 1/5 — DON’T DO THE TRIAL *2026-02-13, version 4.0.3* First of all you can’t even type in to search books, you just have to “browse” aka scroll forever through their genres until you find one you like. I was looking for specifics so I didn’t have time for that or to find out what would happen if I actually tried to listen / download / read. Anyway, they keep making attempts to charge my Apple Cash $24.99 at 2am , 4am, multiple times on multiple days. You cannot cancel through the app or website you have to send them a message or contact directly. These people are frauds and thieves. *2026-08-11, version 4.0.6* This is, by far, the worst possible option for books and audiobooks on the internet today. I signed up for a free trail hoping to find some modern books to enjoy. Upon accessing the site, I first noticed how clunky it is to navigate. The search option is TERRIBLE and requires scrolling all the way down the screen. The book selection is lacking, to say the least. Most of the modern books aren’t even complete books. They’re just poorly written summaries. There are plenty of classics on the app, but most of those can be found for free in the public domain. At $25/month, this awful service feels like theft. There is no direct way to cancel. You have to reach out to customer support (if you can even call it support) to get the link. If you cancel, you IMMEDIATELY lose access to everything, even if you’ve already paid for the full month. They cancel your account then and there, not 30 days from your last payment date. Don’t even bother reaching out to support either, because the only reply you’ll get is some corporate nonsense that sounds like it was written by an AI. They don’t allow refunds for partial service. Stay as far away from this horrible platform as possible. You’re much better off using something like Audible or Everand. OverDrive and Libby are free options if you have a library card. This company needs to be sued out of existence. I’ll be reporting the charges they snuck in after signing me up for a monthly subscription without my direct consent.
