## What is Alla Romana?

Alla Romana splits expenses among friends, flatmates and travel companions — no mental
math, and no account to create.

• Add an expense, pick who paid and how to split it: equally, exact amounts, percentages
  or shares.
• The app works out who owes what to whom with the fewest payments.
• Create groups for home, trips, a couple or work and keep the books separate.
• Add people who don't use the app as group members: they pay, owe and get repaid like
  everyone else.
• Attach a receipt photo: the app reads the amount and date right on your device.
• Recurring expenses, stats with category budgets, search, group notifications,
Siri and a quick-add widget, PDF and CSV export.

Your data lives in YOUR iCloud, not on a server of ours. No account, no trackers, no ads.
Shared groups sync across your devices and with the other members through iCloud. Without
iCloud the app still works, just on that one device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-01

Accepting an invitation now takes you into the group. The app used to look exactly as it did before, with the group turning up whenever it happened to: now you can see it coming, and the moment it's there, you're in it.

Also fixed in this version:

• The button to add an expense is no longer the "+" in the top corner: it's a labelled button at the bottom, where your thumb already is.
• The group screen no longer offers the same two buttons twice in different orders: "Invite" and "Add person" appear once, always in the same order, with nothing cut off.
• "Invite" now shows only for the group's owner — for everyone else it opened a screen that could only say no.
• A group shared with you can no longer stay invisible: the app asks iCloud which groups are there, instead of relying on a single announcement that can go missing.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-30

Groups now read at a glance: each card says how many expenses it holds, what you owe or are owed in there, and when the group last moved. The same numbers as the Balances tab, always current, even with expenses in different currencies.

Also fixed in this version:

• Picking a cover or profile photo now goes smoothly: no more screen closing on its own after you choose, a spinner while the photo comes down from iCloud, and "Remove" removes instead of reopening the library.
• The crop always matches the preview: the photo can no longer be dragged out of the frame.
• Cover and profile photos no longer flash grey while scrolling lists.
• On iPad, the groups column no longer cuts off your balance.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-29

The expense list now tells you everything without opening anything: how an expense was split, among how many people, and what you owe or are owed for it. Cards are taller so all of that fits without squeezing.

Also fixed in this version:

• The balances screen no longer breaks long names mid-word: "Giulia owes Andrea Breda" reads as a sentence, and the amount always stays whole.
• Notifications from shared groups manage to say who added what far more often — even when they arrive late, or after many expenses were recorded at once.
• When they still can't, they at least name the group something happened in, instead of naming nothing.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-28

Recurring expenses now really work: they create themselves when they come due, instead of waiting for the app to be reopened, and they are easy to spot in the list — the cadence on the template, a quiet mark on the copies it generates.

Also fixed in this version:

• Your profile photo shows up in groups created after you chose it, and in groups you join by invitation.
• People who accept an invitation are recognised by everyone straight away, instead of staying a placeholder.
• Expenses in a currency other than the group's are converted in the group's balances too: every screen now shows the same figure.
• Removing someone from a shared group really revokes their access.
• The widget's "+" button opens the add-expense screen, as it should.
• Read-only members no longer find buttons that then refuse to save.
• Export now includes payments, and the CSV uses category names instead of internal codes.
• VoiceOver announces which people and which category are selected, and expense rows stay readable at large text sizes.
• Clearer search, with the date and amount beside each expense.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-26

More robust syncing in edge cases (offline edits, groups deleted by their owner, unreported network outcomes), localized CSV export, VoiceOver fixes, and a fix for quick-add from Apple Watch.
