### 2/5 — Multiple cancelled appointments

*2026-07-31, version 5.1.2*

I signed up for this based on a recommendation from a friend. The whole point for me signing up was to be seen by someone sooner than the many months waitlist for the doctors around me. I have been subscribed for weeks and have yet to see someone. I’ve had two appointments canceled at the last minute for no reason. This is very disappointing.

### 4/5 — Improved over the years

*2026-07-22, version 5.1.2*

There’s been definite improvements over the years to become a better than women’s health app. I would love the ability one day to place the recipes we favorite into creating meal plans with or with our dietician support. Also to have it feed into a shopping list

### 1/5 — Auto charged without notice.

*2026-05-27, version 4.0.98*

I commented on an instagram post and was blocked. Allara will charge you for your visit without notifying you and will take your money without any notice. They will allow you to do your medical visits, saying your insurance was accepted, and then they will send you a bill and auto charge you in 3 days, even if you contact them to set up a payment plan. Be aware that once they have your credit card information they will use it without your consent. This is the second time I have been charged out of the blue and now have to file disputes against Allara health. Would not recommend using at all. Seek a private doctor instead.

### 1/5 — Do not recommend

*2026-05-21, version 4.0.96*

Completely disappointed in the services provided by Allara. No one on their support team can provide the proper answers or are consistently providing conflicting answers. It’s impossible to just contact my provider directly and it’s been over 2 months trying to get my prescription prescribed to me with Allara not providing any actual assistance. I really wanted to love Allara because of the ease of use and having a provider easily accessible but I do not recommend using Allara.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-05-18, version 4.0.96*

This is specifically about the app, but you’re unable to log in on the app making it unusable. It just circles back to complete profile over and over again despite having an active account.

### 1/5 — Not worth it / waste of time and money

*2026-05-18, version 4.0.89*

Didn’t get anywhere in my health process, didn’t learn anything new about my existing issues , no new insights on my test data ( I tested too soon which no one warned me about and I explicitly stated I didn’t want to do ) then I asked for a refund 2 days after I was charged and didn’t refund me . Wasted 3 months of the monthly fee at $150 just to be ill advised, annoyed and overcharged . Super disappointed with my experience, customer service was unreasonable regarding refund

### 3/5 — Doctor notes open to error

*2026-05-14, version 4.0.89*

I am just starting with this program and was happy to find the app. But, I cannot open the care notes in the app and had to delete it so I could open the notes on the website. I get a note about type ‘string’ is not a subtype o type ‘map<String, dynamic>’ in type cast. Hope this helps so I can use the app!

### 1/5 — Unprofessional care and terrible support

*2026-04-22, version 4.0.85*

I joined for hormone support and the experience was awful. The provider was unprofessional. My concerns were not properly addressed, and the only recommend recommendation was omega-3. support is also very hard to reach for cancellation. DO NOT MAKE A MEMBERSHIP!

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2026-04-17, version 4.0.84*

There is always a glitch with this app. Trying to get help and communicate with your provider requires a bunch of steps instead of having an option to directly contact them. Very mediocre explanation about your results & next steps.

### 1/5 — Not Transparent about billing

*2026-04-16, version 4.0.83*

Unfortunately I had a bit so great experience. I really wanted to like Allara’s Dr’s & NP’s, however I was left frustrated and felt blown off once again. I’ve been dealing with hormonal symptoms for some time, my GP totally ignored my plea for help so I came to Allara thinking they’d be helpful since that’s what they claim they actually specialize in. Unfortunately I waited a month to see if my health insurance covered the visits, ALLAR ASSURED ME THEY DID. I did a huge lab work up, then the NP told me I needed to see one of their nutritionists as Allara is a whole body wellness plan. So I booked it, saw the nutritionist, which didn’t show me anything new or helpful- then Allara sends me a text saying I owe them for the visit because my insurance didn’t cover it! Hahahaaaa! You’re kidding me right! After I asked numerous times about coverage and waited a month for a response! Wow! No thank you! Just watch out and make sure your NP doesn’t reel you in under the guise that it’s all part of the same process. This was deceiving and unclear.

### 1/5 — What a joke

*2026-04-13, version 4.0.83*

I really thought this app and the services were going to be the answer for me. These people lure you in to get a few hundred bucks and then leave you for dead. Once I realized that, I canceled any future appointments I had to save the money. Then I got an email asking me for feedback. It went ignored for several days and then I got a response that was unhelpful and they closed the ticket so I couldn’t respond. They don’t care about people, they just want money.

### 1/5 — App login busted & the amount of time it takes for an online platform to reply back is laughable

*2026-03-15, version 4.0.80*

I’ve consistently had troubles with logging in app, and there are inconsistencies between the web version and the app. When it was time for my appointment I was not able to login to the app so I turned to login on the browser and it would not show me the appointment.

I have been trying to get help for 6+ months for my condition and I get no help. For a platform that is entirely online you would think that they would respond faster , but for some stupid reason the message you send to your provider is first sent to a concierge team who actually intercept and forward your
message to the provider. Why I can’t just directly message our provider is wild and does not make any sense.

### 1/5 — Post Visit

*2026-03-09, version 4.0.78*

I had a visit with a doctor who started the visit without introduction and “what do you need help with” and she was very off putting and basically told me I had nothing of concern and when I said I was interested in learning more about hormones or if anything was going on with a painful period, she was dismissive and rude. Then, I had no communication about it not being covered by insurance after the initial survey on the app said I was covered, then I was charged.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2026-03-03, version 4.0.77*

I’ve had a HORRIBLE experience with Allara. They take days and days to get back to you, I’ve wasted my money and time trying to get any kind of response back. I wouldn’t waste your money on this. The concept is there but I’m just so disappointed with the lack of communication from anyone at Allara. I just needed to get an ultrasound done, and getting ahold of anyone took over a week, so I couldn’t get it done in time. Just don’t waste your time and find somewhere else to get help. I’m so upset and out 150$ now with nothing so show for it. Thanks for nothing, just another predatory health program that feeds on woman.

### 1/5 — Be Weary

*2026-02-17, version 4.0.77*

they claim to save you money because you can use your insurance however that is not necessarily truth. You will pay a higher amount even with your insurance each time I book a session at $70 it will not be zero dollars as they claim also, it’s very hard to get in touch with the doctor unless you’re in the appointment and they are very slow to respond to you with any request. It took them over a week for them to respond to just adding in my test results that they asked me for. I am happy for the test and glad I can take it elsewhere

### 2/5 — Follow up is not up to par

*2026-02-06, version 4.0.72*

The visits and interactions I have with my provider are great. However, the follow up the patient concierge staff leaves some to be desired. I have had a couple of issues but the main one being I needed a pre-authorization for an RX. It took over two weeks to get it because it was never actually submitted and when I followed up with the Patient Concierge staff they just said they would keep me posted. I never heard back and finally got ahold of someone at the insurance company to find out it had been approved weeks later, which was after the pharmacy had already filled AND re-shelved my RX.

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service

*2026-01-25, version 4.0.68*

No one responds to me in the app or calls me back when I leave a message.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No support, no lab results, no follow up, no communication and no prescriptions sent

*2026-08-28, version 5.1.14*

Thought everything went well having a virtual visit with a physician who seemed very nice and knowledgeable. After, I could not access any lab results either through labcorp directly or through Allara. I was told prescriptions would be sent for me, no prescriptions showed up. I reached out to the customer service and no responses. I can’t believe I paid for this.

### 1/5 — Unprofessional

*2026-08-19, version 5.1.14*

I had a meeting with the Dietitian and she kept looking at her watch and pretending her service was going out and then finally ended up saying she had to go. She did apologize afterwards but it was a huge waste of time and something I used PTO for. It was seriously the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever been through.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-08-13, version 5.1.11*

Unfortunately, the provider I had through this app did not run the comprehensive testing needed to determine whether or not I had PCOS. I suppose she was satisfied in thinking that there was no way I could have the condition at the time because of my weight. Well, two years later and my current provider ran labs on EVERYTHING. Lo and behold, I am insulin resistant, and if it had been caught earlier maybe I could have received the help and care needed to avoid gaining 40lbs and excess hair in my body and face. Thanks for nothing.

### 1/5 — What a waste of money!

*2026-08-12, version 5.1.11*

If I could give them no star I would. I saw both a nurse and a dietitian, both ranging between 100 to 150 a visit. So I sent about 1,000. The doctor basically told me a GLP-1 was the option since the inositol didn’t help and all the dietitian said was to up my protein and fiber. No meal plans or recipe ideas. Zero guidance. I expected so much more based on the cost and the ads stating that they care. This service is a scam in my opinion.

### 1/5 — Beware

*2026-08-04, version 5.1.2*

This app sounds promising, but is not worth it. I emailed them prior to being seeing to be sure my insurance was accepted, they said it was. I had 3 appointments and was then told that my insurance did not cover the costs. It was near impossible to get ahold of someone because the phone would just ring and go to voicemail and if you message through the app, they can respond and close the message so you have to start all over again. Then I was charged twice $149 for the monthly membership fee when I never signed up. Try another app.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2026-07-31, version 5.1.2*

So disappointed in my experience. Provider changed dose of medication, doesn’t even remember changing the dose until I reminded her that she did (umm maybe read your notes before getting on a zoom call with me from your living room?) then doesn’t respond to pharmacy requests regarding the dosage change. Despite multiple messages over several days, this issue still has not been resolved and I am now out of medication, which is extremely detrimental as I am very sensitive to hormonal changes. So incredibly disappointed and this has turned me off of virtual care forever.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-07-13, version 5.1.0*

I was excited to have a great doc who cared but you can’t get in touch with a human at all after a visit. My meds were no longer available and no doc or Allara ever called me back. I requested via messages to have them change the dose or call me to get the med, no one ever did. They charge a lot for a service they are barely available. It is disappointing bc I loved the doc during the visit

### 1/5 — I feel tricked and now owe $

*2026-07-10, version 5.1.0*

When I uploaded my insurance information into the app, they said “great news, we take your insurance”. I felt, how lucky! Now I can get the care I need. I just checked my email, and received a notice saying that, although they take my insurance, they don’t take my particular brand of insurance. Why wasn’t that discovered in the first place, I’ve had 3 visits so far! So they are going me a “courtesy” of charging me $125 for my session instead of 150. I now know I’ll have to expect another $300 in bills to arrive shortly.

### 1/5 — Be Wary

*2026-07-08, version 5.1.0*

This company advertised that they take my insurance, took my information, let me book and have my first appointment, and then sent me a full price bill of $400+ for a 20 minute virtual appointment with no remorse. Once I canceled my next appointment, they are now all of sudden offering a $140/month unlimited without insurance (??) but the trust is already gone. Unfortunately I did really like my doctor and was looking forward to working with her.

### 1/5 — Allara is a scam

*2026-06-22, version 5.0.4*

The app itself is fine, not especially user friendly but gets the job done I guess. As far as the services Allara provides, nothing beyond what a standard provider can offer despite promises of digging into hormonal health issues. They also claim to be totally covered by insurance but then will hit you with $100s of dollars of bills months later.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Highly recommend for all women

*2026-08-03, version 5.1.2*

The app is exceptionally user-friendly. Being able to schedule appointments quickly (skipping long wait times) and consult with a qualified professional from home has been a total game-changer. The doctor I saw is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and made me feel genuinely supported throughout my health journey, which stands in stark contrast to my previous experiences elsewhere. Every woman should use Allara.

### 5/5 — Happy Patient

*2026-04-19, version 4.0.84*

I have been a patient with Allara for almost 2 years. I came upon them searching for a telehealth endocrinologist and loved that they address so much more! I have an Endocrinologist, my OB/GYN, and a Nutritionist. I learned so much about my hormones, and how my body is changing. For a busy working mom, Allara is perfect for me!

### 5/5 — Best app ever

*2026-02-05, version 4.0.72*

First NP that ever listened to me and my symptoms. Thank god for this app

### 5/5 — Wish for more food recipes but overall fantastic providers and help!!

*2025-09-16, version 4.0.50*

The reason for a possible .5 rating deduction is the recipes on the app itself are not good. They’re very limited and not something I’d like and I’m not even a picky eater.

Now that the ‘bad’ is out of the way — I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2019 via ultrasound and symptoms. I’ve been to two OBGYNS, both offices always made mention of me being obese but never bothered to get to the root cause.

Fast forward to 2025. I started GLP-1s but again, my PCP is very hands off, and i was still struggling to lose weight. So I was seeking additional support for women’s health regarding PCOS and GLP-1. My provider immediately had labs drawn for me and within a week I finally have my diagnosis of being insulin resistant which is why even with medication I struggle to lose weight.

Between my provider and my registered dietitian (not just nutritionist!) I have a care plan and feeling more optimistic than I have in 6 years.

### 5/5 — updates are too frequent

*2025-09-10, version 4.0.50*

allara itself is great but its annoying having to update the app like every week

### 5/5 — Love!

*2025-08-09, version 4.0.42*

I have been with Allara for a few months now and have loved the care I have received! Everyone I am in contact with has been so kind and helpful! I feel like I am finally getting somewhere with my PCOS journey!

### 5/5 — Saving grace

*2025-07-31*

I have spent several months trying to figure out what was wrong with me! Going between my primary physician and specialist. Even having my obygyn gaslight me… I already had an infection and hospitalization due to an infection from an injury while dining at a restaurant. So my body was super weak for months. No one took my claims seriously until I have Allara a chance. They performed SEVERAL lab orders (be patient with this as they are being thorough) it was convenient because I was able to schedule with a local lab near me. If ever the results weren’t sent to Lara, I just downloaded from my portal and then uploaded to Allara before my appointment (this is a mistake from the lab not Allara) and right away she was seeing abnormal results or borderline that she wanted to monitor. I was referred to a dietitian that I was able to schedule and visit within Allara, and I was referred to a couple of specialists (one I was even able to set up as a telavisit - 3rd party and not part of Allara but extremely helpful and just as thorough as Allara) and with the advice to seek an in person physician care for one of my issues.
Fast forward to one year I have been with Allara and things are moving along well. It’s been several months of treatment and I finally have diagnosis and treatment plan and a team of people who Care! Or at least care enough to find the issue and begin trying out a solution. Instead of how I was treated before by my previous primary care. It’s been a relief to finally have been heard.
And to also learn that it wasn’t all in my head. I wish it was all in my head. But it wasn’t. And all of those months of me not receiving Care just prolonged me from feeling better. I cannot thank Allara enough for listening to me and helping me!

### 5/5 — Allara is the real deal

*2025-06-25, version 4.0.11*

Allara is doing something long overdue: disrupting the broken and outdated model of women’s hormone healthcare. They’re offering specialized, care that focuses on conditions like PCOS, perimenopause, endometriosis, and other hormone-related issues that are too often minimized or misdiagnosed in traditional settings. This isn’t just another telehealth app. This is a platform built to change the standard and to validate women’s experiences, to provide evidence based care, and to finally give us a say in our own health journey.

The app was well thought through for the purposes of creating a white glove service in a virtual environment where the risk of feeling disconnected is high. Amazing.

### 5/5 — PCOS Experts

*2025-04-17, version 2.0.78*

I’ve never met doctors or nutritionists with as much PCOS knowledge as the providers at Allara. Struggling with the condition since age 12, I’ve literally tried everything imaginable but was at my lowest of lows in November 2024. Now in April 2025, I am feeling like a completely new person and have more energy. Highly recommend this service!

### 5/5 — Finally found answers

*2025-04-10, version 2.0.74*

I am so thankful for my providers at Allara. I’ve had horrible experiences with doctors where I live and started to lose hope that I’d ever feel “good” again. Then I found Allara. I have answers for all my symptoms and an effective treatment plan that is working!!
