Thought I’d have to get special inserts for my feet but I bought a pair of Allbirds and all my pain went away. Since then I’ve been a total convert. Everything I buy are Allbirds. Why not 5 stars? Because a few of their new shoes have stepped away from being so focused on comfort, also, some of their shoes are dangerous in wet conditions. Overall, these are the best shoes I have ever owned and far, far superior to the major brands out there. It’s also nice on the focus on carbon footprint but that’s completely a side benefit of amazing shoes. ### 5/5 — Warm and wonderful *2022-11-21, version 1.3.33* Love these shoes, have several pair. I came here today to purchase a pair for my daughter-in-law. I was there emptying the dryer and noticed her AllBirds (hole in the toe)…they were purchased about 5 years ago. I laughed and asked her if she would like another pair as I was buying. She took me up on it, picked out a color “on sale” and the rest is history. I’m not wearing heels any more and decided good colors are fun and these are so comfortable. I got the orange ones and came back for the turquoise. Great for most of the year wear. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — They're Just Bad Shoes? *2023-10-12* First, on the shoes. I've owned 2 pairs, and they don't take light use well. The soles wear out quickly, most are thin, wear down to nothing in a few months of consistent use (smooth enough to be dangerous, really). The laces have broken on both, but I just kept tying them? I don't feel like there was much structure to the frame when wearing, but it's the greenwashing that's my real qualm. You'd help the environment, save money, and get better shoes if you just thrifted some for 15 bucks, and donated the 50+ rest to carbon offsets (likely more than they donate to begin with?). This is what I've begun to do, having been unable to find sufficiently "sustainable" shoes in modern clothing. What I was truly hoping for was a cradle to cradle shoe business where they would take accountability for the end life of their product (known as cradle to cradle, as opposed to cradle to grave). Had high hopes for their recycling program that was advertised, but I've worn my shoes out, and no dice. After 3 months, don't even feel good donating them. I simply regret advertising them. Positives are that the little holes you use to lace up are easy to use! Older people seem to enjoy them for comfortable arch support (which granted I know nothing about?), but again I worry about how quickly the soles wear down because I would slip on concrete after a couple months. ### 1/5 — Poor designed app *2023-01-04, version 1.3.38* Returns are complicated and it will not let me exchange for a different size because it says it is out of stock when I go through returns. When I go on the normal website it has that size in stock. Something doesn’t make sense? ### 1/5 — App literally serves no purpose but to spend *2022-07-10, version 1.3.20* I’ve been spun in circles and the best thing Allbirds says I can do is “download the app.” … which does nothing. Can’t track shipments. Can’t get customer service. It’s purely to buy stuff, which is the opposite of what they communicate. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2021-04-09, version 1.2.5* The app is garbage, as soon as you make the payment the app closes automatically and it doesn’t give you an order confirmation or a receipt, but they charge your credit card and you don’t have a way to prove it without an order number. When you have almost no supply avail except in tiny foot sizes you should probably pull your ads. Or how about increase your inventory. When you need to return something, when you click on the item, the order number doesn’t auto fill, causing the user to go back and memorize a longish number. There are other problems with this app but I already have a job and finding bugs for allbirds isn’t it. Gotta say birdies, this has really soured me on your brand, esp since I had to download the app to order sneakers that didn’t even fit. ### 2/5 — Did they really rip off the Nike app *2022-10-01, version 1.3.29* Lol, wait is this the Nike app or Allbirds 😅😅 No really, take a look at Nike, this is a complete rip off of their app, but with Allbirds. I think Allbirds has a strong brand. I wish they’d push their team to actually create something that’s their own. Obviously you can reference other apps, but common, don’t just fully copy another app. The app over all is really buggy and slow to load or doesn’t load too. First site which makes ordering complicated. ### 3/5 — Great shoes, inconsistent app *2022-05-22, version 1.3.18* I discovered Allbirds 3 months ago when out for my Wife’s birthday, and we happened upon one of their physical stores. The shoes were so comfortable I bought 3 pair that day (2 for myself and 1 for her, that’s all she wanted). They are honestly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned, and are amazing straight out of the box - no break in period required. A week later I downloaded the app for my iPhone, and since have purchased 5 additional pair through the app, a couple of which have been the result of the early access to limited editions the app provides, which is cool. The frustrating thing though is that not one single purchase which I’ve made in the app (using Apple Pay) shows up in the ‘orders’ tab, though interestingly, the purchase I made in the store before I ever downloaded the app is there, as is a pair I had to get replaced under warranty (their customer service is great). It’s odd that only these slow up. There is some manner of disconnect going on that a purchase made directly in the app fails to populate the corresponding tab in the very same app. Hopefully they get that sorted. Let’s just say I’m set for most color matches. I play a lot of golf and find I’m never without an outfit match. My moto is “ Dress well and play the best you can” Years ago I was featured as “ The Top Realtor who sports tennis shoes”. Wish I had Allbirds then. I have a broken little toe on my right foot that makes every other shoe I have tried so painful after just a few minutes but; I can wear these the entire day without pain. I’d love to see more colors for fall and holiday sparkle for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Then when I went to visit her in New York, we went to the store. The Gentleman who assisted us, was very helpful. I bought a pair of the wool runners. Great shoe, comfortable, nice arch. About 5 months later I needed black shoes for work and bought another pair of wool runners off this site. It is a very interactive site, the virtual try on option is so nice! Since then I have bought 2 more pairs of wool runners in the newer colors and again have purchased the shoes for hiking. All in, I will have 7 pairs. The comfort, versatility, materials used for sustainability and how well this shoe is made, is a testament to the Allbirds name! It really is a great brand of shoe!!
