It’d be nice to have a fully functional, faster app once a fix is made as we use the library quite frequently. ### 2/5 — Crashing *2024-07-15, version 1.0.11* I have been a fan of this app for a while, but recently it's been crashing and won't open unless I uninstall and set it up again. I think this app has great potential. I really like using it to keep track of all my checkouts and holds, but lately it's just not working properly for me. ### 2/5 — Keeps crashing *2024-07-14, version 1.0.11* Okay app under best circumstances. Like being able to place holds. But I’d constantly crashing lately. I haven’t been able to get into my account. I look up books weekly, if not daily, for homeschool so would love an app that navigates just like the website with better mobile interface. Going in again, it crashed at the same place. Needs way more contrast ### 2/5 — Desperately in need of an upgrade *2026-08-14, version 2026.08.00* This app is awful and I've heard the same from local librarians. Searching the catalog is completely senseless. The filters are hardly useful. Searching for the book you need from the results returned is also awful. Not sure how a search for Kafka resulted a children's movie about dinosaurs. There's no option to add your library card to apple wallet (at least at CLP), extremely frustrating. No dark/night mode is available and the bright white screen is awful to look at- and not accessibility friendly. The app crashes regularly during search, usually right as I find what I need. This may have passed in 2010 but these days we need to step it up! I love my library, do better. ### 2/5 — Constant Crashing *2024-07-29, version 1.0.11* This app crashes often and generally can’t be fixed without uninstalling and reinstalling. However, the app is the only way to see your position in line while waiting for physical books. The website will only show you the total number of people waiting, not the number of people in front of you. Please either add waiting position number to the web portal interface or fix this app. It’s silly to have to use a broken tool over a good one. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app *2026-03-19, version 2026.02.01* I haven’t had any crashes or problems with this app. It lets you place holds on physical books. Under digital resources, it has a link for the Libby app, which is great for Kindle books. The biggest improvement I can think of would be to have a wishlist so you don’t have to place a hold. ### 5/5 — Nearly Perfect for Routine *2025-06-16, version 2025.06.00* Solid app if you are using it for the general things like placing a hold, seeing what position you are in line for a hold, checking what books they have available, etc. The only negative is that the search engine they have does not come up with good results of what you are looking for on occasion. ### 5/5 — New and Greatly Improved! *2025-02-28, version 2025.03.00* A recent upgrade has made ALL the difference! First, it just looks so much better and friendlier. I love the carousel of new books and it’s easier now to register for programs and events. Nice job Allegheny Libraries (specifically Cooper-Siegel!) ### 5/5 — As good as their website *2022-04-10, version 1.0.3* So far I am impressed with the library’s app. I can look up my account to see the status of my requests and the books I have checked out. I did a search for a movie actor and found movies the library has with that actor in them. I did a search for World War I and found tons of responses, just like on the website. ### 4/5 — Good App *2025-03-14, version 2025.03.01* Great, basic App for tracking library activity. I used to love this app and used it often. Now it won’t open. 😡 UPDATE 8/6/24 I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it appears to be working now. Not sure why this was necessary. Hopefully there won’t be more trouble. ### 4/5 — Allows multiple users, but excruciatingly slow *2023-06-21, version 1.0.7* As a parent, it’s useful to be able to have the app be logged in on both my and my kids’ library accounts! I can request books for them, check on their checkouts, and generally use both accounts without needing to log out and back in. But, any action that involves the database is sooo slloooooowwwwwww. Bring your patience and your memories of the 2004-era internet. ### 3/5 — Acceptable for basic functions *2025-08-04, version 2025.06.00* This app is fine for basic things like quick catalog searches and self checkout, but it could be a lot better if it exposed some of the other features from the library website like shelves and reviews. ### 3/5 — Average App *2024-03-04, version 1.0.11* This is useful at times, while being a huge annoyance at others. There’s so much needed to be improved, but I fear this is the best that we’re going to get for a while. Selecting the library for holds is one, who wants to scroll through all the libraries in a tiny box. The search function doesn’t allow for the customization that the website allows. ### 3/5 — Good Start but Search is Not Helpful *2022-03-30, version 1.0.1* Good functionality all around, but the search function is only good if looking for something specific. General topic searches are useless. Try looking up what they have on World War 1 and finding anything interesting. Even tried Advanced Search and came up with barely anything.
