The app wont load/crashes when opened and the site seems broken too. I’ll be so sad if this is the case. It’s the best archive of allergy reviews I’ve ever come across and I’ve been using it for 10+ years. Just wish there were more of us using it, and writing reviews of more restaurants. I do find the app useful when I travel to larger cities, where more people have done reviews. I find we constantly have to educate restaurants, but I appreciate restaurants with staff who are cooperative and willing to ask their chefs, look at labels, and learn. ### 3/5 — No results *2024-05-28, version 2.0.52* We loved using this app for years but in the last year most of the time I get no result. Recently I haven’t had a result, options for allergies and no response when I’ve submitted new restaurants to be added. Such a bummer because this was such a great app to use for my kiddo’s allergy when traveling. ### 1/5 — “Restaurant Locator” not working *2023-11-12, version 2.0.52* Not sure what’s going on with the app, but I have been unable to use it for quite some time now, along with the website. On the app it claims to not recognize my account nor any of my allergies. When I try to “submit” my allergens even while logged out, the page is just blank. You know what they say, ‘they can’t put it on the internet if it isn’t true’. Well, it isn’t true! 😂 Just like others have said, it won’t let you register, after you enter your personal info it gives an error message. Then, if you skip that section and just try to enter your allergies, it does not have any to choose. The articles/blogs are out dated. ### 1/5 — Can’t even search *2023-10-18, version 2.0.52* The app will not let you create a login, pick your allergies, or search anything. I have been trying to create an account and nothing works. It tells me there was an error every time, but not what the error was. It won’t let me sign in with a social media account alternatively either. I hope this is updated so I can actually use the app. ### 1/5 — This Apps is useless *2023-08-08, version 2.0.52* I searched for shellfish free restaurants and most of the restaurants serve shrimp. Yeah great app. Don’t waste your time. ### 2/5 — For me, useless *2023-06-28, version 2.0.52* I gave the app a two star review as it is probably useful for people with peanut allergies or one of the other programmed allergies. Many members of my family (including me) are allergic to mushrooms, and therefore this app was useless. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — NOPE! ‘No Details Provided’ AND broken *2026-03-16* I had this in the past and decided to redownload it to see if it may be of use. Big Mistake!!! This app says ‘no details provided’ but considering its sister app Sirved says it links you to personal data including phone number, name, email, and physical address…and considering upon opening it just shows a blank red screen BUT manages to promote you to allow your PRECISE location on maps AND prompts you to allow notifications…I would steer clear of this app. It simply would NOT LOAD. But took location data (which I always set to precise OFF, thankfully). Do with that what you will. Defunct and (I believe) a useless data mining app. Deleted. ### 1/5 — Nothing Loads *2026-02-05, version 2.0.52* I’ve never seen an app load so slowly. It gets stuck on the loading screen and crashes so I’ve never even gotten the benefit of the app. I’ve never made it in. Def download this app, and PLEASE rate restaurants as you go! It takes a village to keep the FA fam safe! ### 5/5 — Good Tool for Allergies *2021-11-07* I have been using this app for over six months now. It is a good tool for navigating places to eat with our daughter who has two severe food allergies. It currently has limited reviews, but adding to it and telling my friends about it with allergies in their families will help build it up. Metropolitan areas have the most reviewed places, but smaller towns are limited. I try to make it a point when traveling to add reviews. The quick questionnaire places a star rating value and you can choose to add info on your visit. If a restaurant is not listed, you can request to add it, which is nice. **Developer response:** Thank you for your kind review. Thanks to restaurant reviewers like you, AllergyEats has been able to help more and more millions of users find allergy-friendly restaurants. But we couldn't agree more... AllergyEats is in a constant need for more reviews. While we hit a new record number every time a new review is added, there are still so many restaurants in the US we'd like to have reviewed, not to mention that we want our restaurant ratings to remain as fresh as possible. Fortunately, we believe food-allergic diners can find allergy-friendly restaurants just about anywhere in the US using the AllergyEats app or website, but more and more choices would be good. Our son (Ana to milk, eggs, PN and TN) isn’t an adventurous eater so we don’t feel we can walk in just anywhere and ask what they can make safely.
