Allodia Mail & Calendar is a sovereign, secure email and calendar app for people and organisations who want to stay in control of their own data. Unlike the big cloud suites, Allodia Mail & Calendar doesn't ask you to move your mailbox onto someone else's servers. It's a client you own, connecting over open standards — JMAP, IMAP, SMTP and CalDAV — to the mail and calendar infrastructure you already run or trust: your own server, or any provider, anywhere. Your mail stays where you put it. We don't host it, and nothing routes through Allodia. Built in the EU, with privacy by design: • Your messages sync straight between your device and your provider — nothing passes through us. • Credentials are stored securely on your device. • Incoming HTML is sanitised before it's shown, and remote tracking images are blocked by default. • Product analytics is opt-in and off by default, and can't carry your mail, your addresses or your search terms. • A rotating, size-capped diagnostic log that never records your mail, addresses or passwords — safe to attach to a support request. Everything you expect from a modern mail and calendar app: • Multiple accounts in one unified inbox, with a per-account folder sidebar and quick switching. • Conversations grouped into threads — the whole thread, including your own replies in other folders. • Message bodies download after every sync, so opens are instant and synced mail reads offline. • A rich HTML composer: new messages, replies, reply-all and forwards, with attachments and a From-account picker. • Write a signature once — formatting, links and your logo — and reuse it on any account, with a separate one for replies. Embedded images arrive visible, even in Outlook. • All your contacts in one list from every connected account, with address suggestions as you type a recipient. (Read-only for now.) • Read/unread, flag, archive, delete, trash and mark-as-spam, plus reply, forward and archive-conversation from the message. • Configurable swipe actions, with an undo toast. • A full calendar: agenda, day / 3-day / work-week / week and month grids, with pinch-to-zoom, week numbers, a now line and jump-to-today. • Per-calendar visibility and colours; read-only calendars are respected: never an edit that can't be saved. • Meeting invitations arrive as a card above the message: who's asking, when and where, how everyone answered, and your calendar at that time. Accept, Maybe or Decline without leaving the email. • Fast search across all your accounts, including from: and to: filters. • Per-account sync depth, with real-time push (IMAP IDLE) or scheduled polling and clear progress. • Background mail delivery, so new mail keeps arriving when the app isn't in front. • Automatic reconnect after sleep or a network drop, with a plain-language offline banner. • In English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, and time-zone-aware throughout. Allodia Mail & Calendar is part of the Allodia suite — European software built so you can adopt modern tools without giving up ownership of your data or your jurisdiction. ## Version history (last 3 releases) ### 0.6.0 — 2026-08-28 A repeating event now says exactly how it repeats — every second Tuesday, the fourth Monday of the month, until a date — and changing or deleting a single occurrence asks whether you meant that one or the whole series. Changing a whole series warns you first if your account's server would undo what you had changed on one occurrence. Settings has its own place to create an Allodia account, sign in, or delete it, separately from your mail accounts. With one, the mail accounts you add on one device are offered on the next — the addresses and server settings, never your mail and never your passwords. Very large messages now arrive when you open them instead of downloading in the background, which saves mobile data, and each account can choose the largest message to keep offline: 2, 5 or 10 MB, or no limit. Lowering it frees space without removing any mail. Much faster: in our testing, adding a large Gmail account went from about nine minutes to under thirty seconds, Fastmail and other JMAP accounts download about nine times faster, and Outlook about three. A folder opens the moment you pick it, and moving between messages no longer flashes a loading spinner. Fixed: Settings pages scroll on iPhone, so nothing below the first screenful is out of reach, and tapping into a message no longer zooms the composer in. When a mail server asks us to slow down, that part of the sync is no longer left unfinished. Opening one occurrence of a repeating event shows that occurrence's own date. Changing a single appointment now works on Google calendars, moving one a second time works, and one appointment with an unusual repeat rule no longer stops the rest of your calendar arriving. Messages in Junk and Trash on Gmail stay put. Choosing a folder opens that folder, even when All Inboxes is showing. A new message and a new event open with the cursor already in place, address suggestions float over the message instead of pushing the rest of the window down, calendar diagnostics no longer include your account's address, and an Allodia sign-in that needs renewing says so instead of showing a technical error. ### 0.5.0 — 2026-08-21 Senders and contacts now show their photo where your account has one, and coloured initials where it does not, in place of the envelope icon. Contacts come across from accounts you sign in to. Drag on the calendar grid to create, move and resize events, and your calendar is on screen the moment the app opens. The iPhone gets the folder pane the other apps have: every account's folders at once, staying as you left them, with each folder's unread count and known folders under their proper names. Pick light or dark yourself, or keep following the system. In the composer: nested bullets, table rows and columns, and text colour; typing "- " starts a bullet list; the editor's own buttons now speak the app's language; and it opens on the fields a message usually needs. A long address no longer pushes it off the screen, and it stays put while you write. Attachments open in the system's viewer, and a message with many files stays readable. Search says how far back it looked, so an empty answer never reads as "there is no such message". Invitations: answer one on an account whose calendar server will not answer for you; the older copy of a re-sent meeting stops pretending it can still be answered; an answer that could not be delivered says so; and an invitation shows on its own day preview. There is an About page, and keeping less mail frees the space right away. Faster: the mail list opens at once however much mail you have, the app stays responsive during a first sync, new mail arrives with less waiting, and the list no longer jumps when a background sync starts. Fixed: reply-all keeps every recipient. A refused password says so instead of blaming the server, and one refused folder no longer asks you to sign in again. A sent message always leaves a copy in Sent. A forward stays in the conversation it came from, and a message you open stays in its conversation.
