### 2/5 — Going down hill

*2026-01-01, version 2.2.1*

When I first started using the app it was good there was some adds on some stories. Now I can’t even read a paragraph with out the same video add trying to hijack my screen . I can close the add time after time and it just pops right back up making reading impossible! I do like how they rate the sources a lot tho.

### 2/5 — Switched to Ground News

*2025-10-24, version 2.1.4*

I have been over the all sides app for a while now but only recently found a better substitute. The app continually glitches out by highlighting certain text in white and blending other text in with the dark background, making it totally unreadable. The app will often go for days without updating, forcing me to rely on biased internet searches for news. I like the presentation of multiple biases, but the write-ups are inconsistent and oftentimes exclude one side or the other. The write-ups have started to become more biased in that they have begun to use some of the keywords they like to call out in sensationalized articles. Also, their AI write-ups are often full of typos, a sign of another company diving into AI “because it’s cool” rather than having a plan or the knowledge of how to use it.

Really wish they could have moved forward and improved because I liked the app for years, but at this point Ground News has proven to be the better option.

### 2/5 — Like the News Info, App is Meh

*2025-09-21, version 2.1.4*

Not a bad source of news. I like how AllSides writes a simple narrative of how each leaning news org writes their piece and highlights the difference between left and right news reporting.

I have two problems though hence the 2 star review.

First is opening an article is done internally through the app browser. I wish it would open via your phone browser because there’s so many ads.

Second, I’m not longer able to access the app or the website in a foreign country. It says I’ve been banned but gives no specific reason. I travel a lot for work and this is extremely unfortunate.

### 2/5 — Only magnifies mainstream media bias

*2025-09-15, version 2.1.4*

I’ve used this app for several years and become more and more disappointed by it, to the point where I’ve decided to delete it and switch to another news aggregator. Unfortunately, by surveying all the major news outlets and compiling and summarizing the most-covered stories, AllSides is only magnifying the biases of the mainstream media. Dramatic stories which the media tends to over-cover such as the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the minute dealings of Donald Trump’s life, the Epstein files etc. fill your newsfeed while those under-covered, such as the genocide in Gaza, the Big Beautiful Bill’s effect on SNAP and other social programs, and other political decisions that have a real impact on your life, are totally lacking. For example, at this moment AllSides has five different headlines up about Charlie Kirk, from “Suspected Kirk Killer Tyler Robinson Lived with Transgender Romantic Partner” to “Was Kirk Practicing Politics the Right Way?” Meanwhile Netanyahu’s announcement that Israel is planning to occupy all of Gaza wasn’t covered at all. At first I thought that at least the comparison of perspectives on these issues would be interesting and enlightening. But most of the time it falls into simple, predictable tropes and talking points we’re all too familiar with. I don’t think most Americans need AllSides to tell them that Republicans think immigrants are stealing their jobs and Democrats disagree. Lastly, AllSides was very quick to hop on the AI bandwagon, which noticeably affected the nuance and even veracity of their summaries. (There have been several summaries I’ve seen where information has been unequivocally incorrect.) If you’re somehow able to avoid all the content being shouted at you from TV screens, grocery store check-out lanes and social media the AllSides newsfeed might be new and interesting to you. But I’d hope that people come to this app looking for a place with truly balanced, real-world, life-affecting news, and unfortunately that is no longer what it is offering.

### 2/5 — I love this app but it stopped working :(

*2025-09-11, version 2.1.4*

Hi! I love this app. I think it’s better than Ground News. But recently it’s had a bug where I don’t see the full stories anymore with the All Sides overview and the covering from different sources. All I see now are individual stories with their bias ratings. I think it happened with the last update. Please fix! I would give it five stars for sure if it was how it used to be!

### 3/5 — Functional issues

*2025-07-17, version 2.1.4*

Apparently there’s no going back, u gotta just close out the app and start looking for another article, amazing app and idea tho

### 3/5 — Love the content, not the app

*2025-06-22, version 2.1.3*

The content is great to get news from many sources and to know their bias. This is what I want but there needs to be a close button on the top right corner of an article. Also it could look a little cleaner but I can live with that if navigation is improved.

### 4/5 — No way back

*2025-04-08, version 2.1.3*

I like many others like the app but once your in an article that’s where you live. How hard is this to fix? Honest question.

### 3/5 — App functionality stinks, good idea and source

*2025-04-05, version 2.1.3*

Navigation is awful, it never seems to want to let you go back after selecting a story. The only way I have found is to shut down the whole app and start over. How hard is it to have a back button in the upper left hand corner?
I like the idea and the content. It should be five stars, but come on, no back button?

### 3/5 — Great concept. App needs work

*2025-03-26, version 2.1.3*

I love the concept of this app but the navigation is horrible. I can’t back out of articles to the page I was originally on.

### 4/5 — Buggy app, but functional

*2025-03-17, version 2.1.3*

good content, I agreed with their assessments on what leaned where. App is buggy, a few places I could click into off the main screen, but then no buttons or ability to navigate anywhere else (including back to the Home Screen).

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2025-03-14, version 2.1.3*

Used to love the app but it’s very buggy recently. The bias tab doesn’t work anymore, it crashes the whole app for weeks now.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not unbiased

*2026-05-08, version 2.2.1*

Not unbiased. Has a liberal lean and doesn’t present breaking news either. Beware of their algorithm.

### 1/5 — App stopped working

*2025-10-15, version 2.1.4*

App has not worked for a while now with no fix or resolution in sight. Guess it’s back to cnn and fox news

### 1/5 — Down

*2025-10-15, version 2.1.4*

Been down for 3 days, not sure what’s going on but the website says it’s backend stuff

### 1/5 — Bias checker is broken

*2025-09-10, version 2.1.4*

Claims of balanced news is false… just because you post multiple articles doesn’t mean the app is balanced… especially when the apps own articles are biased claiming they are not….

### 1/5 — i opted for ground news

*2025-09-01, version 2.1.4*

It’s just a better app lol

### 1/5 — Great News, Awful App

*2025-06-23, version 2.1.3*

The company and their info is wonderful. This app is a useless joke. I can only assume no one ever looks at the reviews or tested anything? Reports of the nav issues have gone unnoticed for at least 6 months with no change. The inability to go back or really navigate anything makes it completely worthless.

### 1/5 — Sketchy

*2025-04-20, version 2.1.3*

Love the idea, but I tried to use the search function on the app and it opened a webpage that immediately had a scam pop-up claiming my phone was being attacked by a virus and trying to get me to click a link. Very sketchy.

### 1/5 — Charged 2 yrs after unsubscribed

*2025-04-17, version 2.1.3*

And there is no support or help with the service. They made a mistake, but no help correcting a $50 charge 2 years later.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-03-07, version 2.1.3*

No back button so you can’t return to main page upon clicking a story. Perfectly ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Unusable navigation. Poor design

*2025-03-04, version 2.1.3*

As others have stated, when clicking into an article, there is no way to navigate back to the Home Screen. User is forced to restart the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Cannot speak highly enough

*2026-08-18, version 2.2.2*

This app is for everyone. This app is: consistent, reliable, respectable, representative, accessible, approachable, and easily navigated. This app and the people behind it are the definition of 5/5 stars.
Their website is an even more incredible platform and it further exemplifies the characteristics I listed at the top of this review.
I also want to make a point to say that I've reached out to their customer service email and they DO respond and in a timely manner! These people are phenomenal at what they do and demonstrate the passion they have for their mission in everything they do.
Thank you for all the work you guys do to bring us an app, free of cost, with no paywall, no adds, no subscriptions, just information for those who want to make the effort to go find it.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-11, version 2.2.2*

So easy to see the slimy media bias on both sides. :)

### 5/5 — How do we get more people to use this??

*2026-07-24, version 2.2.2*

I love this app. It is such a good tool for navigating the polarization we are ALL subject to. It gives me some hope. Thank you.

### 5/5 — AllSides

*2026-02-27, version 2.2.1*

A breath of fresh air

### 5/5 — Love the news

*2025-10-13, version 2.1.4*

For some reason, the app is broken now on my iPhone. I rebooted my phone, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and it is still broken. Not sure how else to fix it.

### 5/5 — Great News Source

*2025-08-22, version 2.1.4*

Allsides is such a great idea, especially because ever since Covid I have no idea what new source is telling the truth, so this lays out every side based on their political bias and lets you make the choice.

Also, I’m not having any issues navigating the app like others have claimed. Not saying they’re lying, just saying the app works great for me.

### 5/5 — U NEED THIS IN TODAY’S AMERICA

*2025-05-06, version 2.1.3*

Cuts through all the purposeful distortion by left and right and gives you a clearer picture of what’s really being said and even what’s not being said. It will greatly increase your news IQ. This is an important service they provide. Thanks AllSides!

### 5/5 — AllSides

*2025-03-27, version 2.1.3*

A breath of fresh air

### 5/5 — True, Unbiased News Gathering (Navigation Issues Fixed)

*2025-03-06, version 2.1.3*

In an era dominated by opinion-driven reporting, this app stands out as a breath of fresh air. With its broad coverage, unbiased details and quotes, it provides the depth and context essential for anyone seeking to stay truly informed in today’s evolving news landscape.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-01-24, version 2.1.2*

Amazing app to be well informed about current events, and to learn about how news outlets use specific wording to sway your opinion. I value that this app provides their unbiased general overview of the current event and then provides links to news outlets so we can generate our own opinion and attempt to learn without bias
