### 5/5 — Developer cares about the experience

*2026-08-12*

I love that this app is genuinely useful without being a money grab like a lot of other apps like this. You can do unlimited recipe saves without paying money and i love the organization. You can have up to 5 folders for free too which is plenty for me. I have folders “dinner, dessert, breads, breakfast, snacks”. It saves quickly and accurately and i love that it has the original link right on top too so i can go see the Instagram video or whatever it is conveniently. This developer is also great at taking feedback and applying it. Thanks for making a great and accessible app!

### 5/5 — Love it so far!

*2026-07-28*

I saw someone talking about this app on a reddit thread. Exactly what I was looking for and don’t need to pay to import recipes. Awesome!!

### 1/5 — Lots of Bugs and Poor UI

*2026-07-15*

This app has a ton of bugs in it and lot’s of issues. There is no way to close out the tutorial or not show the getting started sections if you do not want to go through it. The Mac OS app just shows a white screen and does not load. There is no way to select the ingredients in the recipe steps, only some get highlighted by some AI thing and it misses a bunch of them each time. There should just be a family account, instead you have to share each “cook book (folder)”, pantry and shopping list to share them with family members. There is no way to add custom tags or modifiers or categories like you can in Paprika. You are forced to see “Saved, Imported and Posted “folders at the top of the library page. Taking a photo of the recipe does not work on my iPhone, but you can import saved images. When importing it makes up some AI description of the recipe for zero reason.

### 2/5 — Does not work

*2026-05-25*

I really like the concept but it works about 20% of the time. Sometimes it won’t even import a recipe at all other times the recipe is not even close to what the video said.

### 5/5 — Good alternative, free tier is great

*2026-04-02*

Would love an option to bulk import from social media e.ga saved folder of recipes on Instagram, as well as the option to share recipes as a pdf rather than a link for printing out!

### 4/5 — Nice Indie Recipe App

*2026-03-06, version 1.05.01*

EDIT: I’ve updated my review from 3 to 4 stars. I will use it more often and update again with more details! But I highly recommend everyone giving it a download if you’re looking for a way to import and store recipes!

I initially had some issues with the app, and I’m very impressed with the developer’s response to critique and fast update to reflect their promises! They addressed several of my concerns and opening the app again I was immediately so much more interested in continuing to use the app. I’ve had good experiences with the import recipe feature and now it’s all on my homepage for easy reference without having to scroll around through features that didn’t interest me.

There is also much more clarity on what comes with the premium version/what is free. I’m happy to say that it is a very usable free app and so far do not feel pushed to upgrade. I might do so in the future since tracking my macros is appealing - my lifestyle just doesn’t need it at the moment.

I’m keeping my previous notes because I think the way they responded was commendable & it highlights why we should support indie developers!

Previous review:
I downloaded this because the creator is on Reddit talking about how the app is mostly free with just a few upgradable features like tracking macros/etc. I’m not sure if they changed their mind, but it says “Import unlimited recipes” as a feature for premium. So… there’s a limit? That’s not mostly free. I don’t even know the limit - a little transparency would be nice.

The homepage is a mess and makes me not want to use the app. First of all, there’s a banner up advertising a future AI Personal Assistant. Not only do I have zero interest in using an assistant, but it’s not even usable right now! So why is the banner taking up so much space? I hope they include a way to “close this option and not bring it back unless I ask” feature.
The homepage also has a million things it wants you to “start.” Like it’s in tutorial mode. But it’s asking me to do all these things I have no interest in using the app for (import recipe from text, start a cookbook for example.) it’s taking up all this space for nothing. I wish there was a way to end tutorial mode or close out of these. When I open an app I want to get to what I came there for an not be overloaded by it basically begging me to try new features.

Idk, I was just really looking forward to downloading this after seeing the creator boast about it on Reddit. So to open it up and be inundated with tutorials for simple tasks, unwanted AI chats, and unclear expectations for the free vs premium versions (and to be clear - I have no problem paying for apps and supporting creators. But I need to know that the additional features are actually worth it and I certainly don’t want to pay for an AI analysis of recipes - especially if I can’t opt out of seeing it or unnecessarily generating things I don’t need.)

I’ll give it a few more days and adjust my review if needed. But in the meantime I’m going to keep an eye out for a simple recipe app that just lets me import and view my recipes. That’s literally all I’m asking for lol.

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2026-03-06, version 1.05.01*

Best APP ever. Grabs everything from instagram, what a great creation

### 3/5 — Has potential, however…

*2026-02-21*

### 3/5 — The recipes are wrong

*2026-02-15, version 1.04.04*

Sometimes they work but not usually

### 1/5 — Was once great, not anymore.

*2026-02-04*

Siiiigh, I loved Allspice, used it a long time. But the whole reason I downloaded it was to avoid ad-ridden websites that showed you weird and often disgusting ads that are probably one accidental click away from a virus.

But now, you have to view the websites to see the instructions, it no longer lets you avoid virus bait websites. I understand wanting to support cooks, but you’re turning against your own supporters in the process.
