The app is OK, but there are certain issues that are wrong with it. I am using an iPhone 17 Pro Max with the latest iOS version. When I try to go into the update section to add additional information to my likes or dislikes and the anything else section the app will not let me. When I double tap into the text box field. I get nothing. It doesn’t even say edit when I tap into the text box Field. This is an issue that needs to be fixed so ally is more responsive to each person‘s needs. ### 1/5 — Disappointin *2026-05-31* The AI isn’t bad, however, this company has extremely poor customer service. They have wearable glasses that you can use the app with hands-free. However, these are cheaply made. They delivered them to me when I was away and refused to give me an extension when I tried to return them because of the poor quality and the fact that they don’t work. Customer service is very poor. I don’t see these people being relevant for very long given the other AI options and smart glass options that are out there for blind people these days. ### 4/5 — Still an OK app, but i'm starting to get concerned regarding lack of updates *2026-05-28* I'm currently using the beta of this app, which has added support for the Meta glasses. Unfortunately, the beta has not been updated in almost 2 months. As others have said, and as I said in my original review, the voice options currently available are not ideal. When this app was originally out in beta, they offered ElevenLabs voices, and that made for a much better user experience. The voices they use now are supposedly customizable, but I have yet to ever get one to sound the way I describe it. For many years, I have always tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt, but over the past 6 to 8 months, I have become increasingly concerned. I think that they have excellent intentions, but perhaps they have bitten off far more than they can chew. it seems as though especially with their own glasses which were released this past October, they over promised and under delivered in a big way. Plus, I never would've purchased their specific glasses had I known that they were eventually planning to make ally available on Meta glasses. so, overall, the app is good for what it is, but as things stand at the time of writing this review, I believe users should think twice before giving this company any money. Just lately, it seems like they've completely dropped off the radar. ### 1/5 — Kritik an fehlender Barrierefreiheit: Timeout-Blockade im Registrierungsprozess des Assistenten „Ali *2026-04-27* Als Nutzer, der auf barrierefreie Schnittstellen angewiesen ist, kritisiere ich die unzureichende technische Umsetzung der Registrierung bei Envision. Der Sprachassistent „Ali“ führt durch einen Abfrageprozess, der durch ein viel zu kurzes Zeitlimit (Timeout) unterbrochen wird. Dies ignoriert die akustische Dynamik von Hilfsmitteln wie VoiceOver vollständig. Dass eine Registrierung bei einem Produkt, das explizit für blinde Menschen konzipiert wurde, aufgrund solcher Versäumnisse scheitert, ist höchst unprofessionell. Dieser Prozess konterkariert jeden Anspruch auf Inklusion und Gleichstellung. Having an AI assistant that will correct me, and not just tell me what it is that it believes I want to hear is very important to me. As with any app, there are issues, but overall my experience has been extremely positive! ### 4/5 — Helpful and useful application. *2026-01-10* There are some features that this app does not have. That being said for a visually impaired user this is the most helpful and convenient artificial intelligence app I have used. In the beta series before this app was released it had the ElevenLabs voices in those voices are amazing. They sound good. Please add the voice to the app. Eleven Labs voice are supernatural. Never tried the glasses, they never arrived. The app does suck. It does not know it is supposed to help blind folks. They are slow to respond, they are unhelpful and obstructive when it comes to customer service. I had to contact my credit card to get my refund. Now they are trying to keep part of my payment with no reason, actual or stated. As I said I never got my glasses, they said they were delivered. When you start a scan, Ally now provides real-time spoken instructions to help you position your phone correctly (e.g., move left, move right, hold steady). Once all edges of your document are visible, Ally automatically snaps the picture for you. You can always override Document Guidance and take a photo manually using the manual capture button. Document Guidance works best with documents on flat surfaces or books folded to show one page at a time. Document Guidance is enabled by default and can be toggled off in Settings.
