First time in my life I am mad there was no notification or pop up from the onset. ### 4/5 — Notification Limitations *2026-08-30, version 26.16.0* I love ally banking. I switched to using their savings and their spending accounts instead of my local bank. There are so many more benefits. The only downfall is the notifications. I have seen this same review all over Reddit as well, so I know I’m not the only user that has noticed. The notifications are very vague and can only be received by setting a certain dollar amount for it to trigger a notification. I wish the notification would be more specific to what it was about, like most other financial apps do. ### 2/5 — Debit Card Controls *2026-08-29, version 26.16.0* Debit card controls are terrible on this app. They used to be so much better but now you can’t even find how to do it. However, I am still showing the credit card on my home screen. It's been months now since they transferred to Ollo. It even shows wrong info for card account, just says they working on it. Been months now and really annoying because takes up space in app and the account no longer exists. I have my new card for months now and pay through the Ollo app. Time to update app and drop the nonexistent account from Alky app please! I sent email about it and was just given the runaround treatment about it (?) My direct deposit went through but I have no way of accessing the money. Ally doesn’t offer a way to add a virtual card to Apple Pay. Zelle is a 3-5 hold because it’s a new account. So far it’s been a horrendous experience. I’ll most likely be closing this account. Other online banks and financial apps currently offer better overall functionality, products, and features. Ally’s website and mobile app feel clunky and outdated, lacking the seamless user experience provided by competitors like Discover, Capital One, or even traditional institutions like Bank of America. While I appreciate the value of their high-yield savings products, the user interface simply doesn’t reflect the quality of their banking services. My biggest frustration is having to acknowledge the privacy policy prompt every single time I log in. I understand it is a security measure, but it quickly becomes tedious. Additionally, the design feels rigid and outdated with its sharp edges and boxy layout. It isn't an enjoyable platform to navigate—I find myself wanting to finish my transactions as quickly as possible just to log out. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage app *2026-08-27, version 26.15.0* App sits on load screen for literal hours, never loads. I updated the app yesterday and all of a sudden my face id doesn't work, my username and password are "wrong", and even when I try logging in online I'm getting an error that says "something's wrong try again later". WHAT?! ### 1/5 — Bucket Distribution *2026-09-01, version 26.16.0* Deposit bucket percentages don’t distribute properly as allocated. I must manually move bi weekly deposits into the proper buckets. This has been going one for almost a year now after I delayed one of my goals and changed my bucket deposit percentages. This has been going on for a year now even after opening 3 separate tickets with Ally. Customer service always says they will call back to give a status update and they never do. I must call back to check in on the issue only for them to claim it’s resolved or act like it’s a different issue when it’s not. I got online to search for a new bank and although online banks were a new concept I transferred all my banking to Ally. I'm ADHD so most Apps just seem like enemies in the way of completing anything. Unnecessary interface, constant interruptions, lack of consistency, glitches, salespitches, bugs, all adding up to annoying and distracting when all u want is completion. In the many years I've been with Ally, from their phone system to their APP, they may be the only business I have had none of the above. Yeah, i’d use the word intuitive but easy and fast describe best. Looking at your money is scary enough, no one needs to be frustrated while doing it. Another pro, they have rightly alerted me to suspicious activity instead of treating me like I’m the security risk.
