## What is Alma Alterego?

Alma Alterego is the native app that connects you to your LibreChat server. Talk to your AI models and agents with a fast, smooth experience built for mobile.

IMPORTANT: you need access to a LibreChat server (your own, your company's or your organization's). When you open the app, enter the server address and sign in.

WHY ALMA ALTEREGO
• Truly native: faster and smoother than the web app in a browser
• Built for mobile: natural gestures and a layout that adapts to phones, tablets and foldables
• Works with your phone: share text, images and files into the app from any other app
• Offline reading: browse the chats you've already opened, even with no signal
• Multiple accounts and servers: switch between them instantly, no need to sign in again
• Private dictation: voice input is processed on your device

REAL-TIME CHAT
• Responses stream in as the model writes
• Stop, regenerate or continue any response
• Message branches and alternative versions
• Markdown, code highlighting and math formulas (LaTeX)
• Attach images and documents, or reuse files already on the server

ARTIFACTS
View Mermaid, SVG, HTML, React and Markdown artifacts right in the chat, and pin them to your home screen to open them with a single tap.

MODELS AND AGENTS
• Searchable model picker with comparison mode
• Agent catalog with categories and MCP server configuration
• Home screen shortcuts to your favorite models

CONVERSATIONS AND FILES
• Search, tag, archive, share, fork, export and import
• Full-screen image viewer with zoom
• Save images to your gallery and share them in their original format

VOICE AND PERSONALIZATION
• Live dictation and read-aloud for responses
• Any accent color with a matching Material 3 palette, light or dark mode, and Material You
• Change the app language in settings

SECURITY
• Username and password, two-factor authentication (2FA) and OAuth, depending on your server
• Session tokens encrypted on your device
• Your conversations are stored on your server

Alma Alterego is an independent client compatible with LibreChat and is not officially affiliated with the LibreChat project.
