Takes a week to respond via email. Really frustrating ### 1/5 — No instructions or manual *2020-06-07, version 3.7.1* I’m trying to setup port forwarding on my almond plus so o logged in from my pc only to be met with a message that forwarding is only accessible from the App. So I opened the app which I’ve never used and can’t find anything to do with port forwarding. What’s worse is that I can’t find any instructions when searching the internet. No doubt tech support can talk me through this but it’s Sunday and they’re closed. The manual for the Almond router is only 39 pages and doesn’t mention the app at all. ### 2/5 — Almond Router and Range Extender *2020-04-26, version 3.7.1* A few years ago I purchased an almond to use as a range extender and it worked awesome! Last year my WiFi started to slow down significantly and I figured it was my service so I bought an upgraded almond to use as a router. I liked the features and though the WiFi was a little better it wasn’t significant. A couple months after using the router and range extender my internet started to disconnect constantly. I would use the app to check on the settings and users but it never updates in real time or it says the almond cannot be reached even when I’m in “local connection”. I have contacted support several times and they are very kind but I feel like their assistance is either a temporary fix or no fix at all. I have also upgraded my internet provider and my WiFi is still laggy. The app is zero help if the almond disconnects. I do like the features the app has however most only works with subscription. Also I wish it was easier to delete individual devices. My favorite feature is being able to block individual devices (so long you label them with a name when the first connect, otherwise there’s no way to tell which device is which). I will continue to use the almonds and app for now but I wish the app would provide updated/new features that would make the experience better for its users. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2020-01-01, version 3.7.1* This app goes off every night such that I have to shut down my iPhone and reboot every night. Even then, the App does not always work no matter what I do. The data to control the settings is not for an ordinary person. One has to be very tech savvy to figure out the problem. Even when I call for support, the reps are very polite and have to run through the entire installation each time. One should not have to do that as often as I do. I will look for a new product that is easier for a lay person to manage. ### 1/5 — Almond is a great idea *2019-10-09, version 3.7.1* But it is so difficult to deal with. I would never purchase this & it’s peanuts again! ### 1/5 — The Peanut Plug does not work with this *2019-08-14, version 3.6.7* I have a peanut plug connected to my echo plus and i can turn it on and off through alexa but I don’t see an option for energy monitoring. The directions for the plug suggest that I download this app but there doesn’t seem to be a way to add the plug to the app. ### 2/5 — Doing something illegal *2019-07-17, version 3.6.7* I take back my excellent review of this product, I will let Amazon know as well. After the initial 30 days use of the Almond to extend my wireless network. It was like the 31st day having suddenly my Eset Smart Security said that I had a security issue through this machine, had an ability to let someone into my system. The message.also indicated that there probably is a firmware update to Almond. But no it said there was none. The only thing I did find was an offer to purchase some type of security software for 39.99 annually. That is the illegal part I have to check my facts on the necessity for Securifi to even make you believe you have to buy their protection to use this product safely. Then to Support...what support...you have to fill out there form on website and attach screen shots of what is the problem and that you have. I work for myself as a Bookkeeper from home, why to I want to use my time to jump through so many hoops just to get the equipment to work safely. ### 1/5 — App and Sensors used to Work *2018-12-29, version 3.6.2* This app and sensors did work well at one time. Now the door sensors don’t. It seems that they will notify me of change in door position hours after it occurred. Support is no help. They have no idea what is going on. I am very disappointed with their support. After running diagnostics on the router, “Valid Cloud Account” fail and they no clue as to what the problem is. I have had this router since the crowd funding days. It worked well until lately. I was thinking about getting a new one but that seems unlikely with the level of support they have now. ### 2/5 — Almond allergy *2018-11-26, version 3.6.2* Don’t know what happened but I can’t get “guest” to work anymore, or can’t get to settings. Very frustrating reached out to Securifi, no support... ### 1/5 — Buggy *2018-06-23, version 3.5.9* Renamed my locations by itself. Does not support all Z-Wave sensors and they know don’t when they will. A lot of times, sensors take time for the Almond to let you know a door opened or closed. Could be five minutes or two hours later. Very disappointed with this. Too far into this with Almonds in three different locations. Location 1 - 4 door sensors, 1 garage tilt sensor, 3 humidity sensors and 3 water sensors Location 2 - 4 door sensors, 1 garage tilt sensor, 1 garage door opener, 2 humidity sensors and 3 water sensors Location 3 - 2 door sensors Goes elsewhere ### 1/5 — Useless App *2018-03-03, version 3.5.7* My app was not giving notifications or showing who is online. I deleted the app and now unable to link the app back to my devices. It also does not allow you to change the name of the router so it’s stuck with the most stupid name. The app needs some upgrades. I purchased the 2 routers so that I can keep track of users within my home but with the app the routers are useless for the purpose. Your advertising is false and should be corrected. ### 1/5 — Never works *2018-02-27, version 3.5.7* I don’t know if it’s me or what but nothing works on this app and it’s complete junk. Can’t even delete old devices. So many devices that don’t even exist anymore. Can never get a local connection. It would be great if the app had a section to show what device is running on which band so I can change. It always seems like the processing power on each band is slow with too many devices. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Do not buy *2025-08-05, version 3.7.1* I am a proud owner of almond plus I backed almond on kickstarter and am a proud owner. This guy had done great work beautiful equipment and decent support. But like all small companies they fell on hard times being in hardware is brutal. And I love these guys, the product I still own it after so many years and want to use it. But there is no support. They must have shut down. Even though their support pages are up and Amazon still shows products which is very weird. ### 1/5 — No Cloud, No Support *2025-03-07, version 3.7.1* Maybe it's because of the intrusiveness of Chinese-made network devices, but I guess I feel safer knowing Securify's reach is no longer extended to our private homes. There is no response from their support e-mails, and the phone number is disconnected. Yet, these devices continue to be available for sale. It makes no sense, continue to sell products to dumb Americans (like moi), with zero support. The only way to connect to the Almond devices is via local connection. I use 2 of them as WiFi extenders. The LAN side of the WiFi is spotty, but effective(eh). The back haul holds pretty stable. Buy another brand! I have to enter it every time I open the app. Clearly I need to get a new controller for my items. ### 1/5 — Cloud connection failed *2024-11-23, version 3.7.1* Cloud connection is not establishing from last few months. Tried contacting developer through email, but no reply. System is paralyzed without cloud connection. ### 1/5 — Almond wi-fi router *2024-09-17, version 3.7.1* Constantly drops connection. No updates for the app or device in years. Time to switch routers to a different brand I suppose. App says you can connect locally to control router when the cloud is down but when you connect locally there's no options in app to do anything. You can't even restart the router. It's a shame because I really liked the touch screen and style of this little router/range extender. ### 1/5 — Not working *2024-09-08, version 3.7.1* Almond app has lost its reliability. Every 2-3 months it losses the cloud access and soon after it will start loosing the local connection as well. Rebooting the router will fix the local connection but for couple of days and when cloud connection error is reported via email they will take month/s to solve it. And this whole scenario will be repeated again in 2-3 months ### 1/5 — Very unreachable company *2024-08-18, version 3.7.1* I have been trying to communicate with securifi but they don’t answer emails, text or calls. The server has been down for sometime now. Cannot set devices. I am planning leave this company. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2023-04-30, version 3.7.1* I keep getting “almond offline” messages, and I’m unable to see what’s going on. I use this for work, this hiccup mean I get no days off. Also the device history is weirdly organized/useless. You don’t get a detailed history of when motion has been detected or anything else. It just shows you random points in time, days and weeks apart. You can’t just view daily activity. The support phone line is useless, and I’m still waiting on an email back from the support email provided. I highly recommend finding a different app if you have anything you care about that you are monitoring away from home. ### 1/5 — Minimum configuration *2022-05-14, version 3.7.1* You can do only minimum configuration. Even with the recent tweaks it could be optimized. He is an IT guy and loves it! He has added peanut plugs and other sensors, since. I just got one because he found it on eBay. I love it! I especially love the app, ease of use, great customer support, touch screen, peanut plug and the security controls.
