I put the phone in airplane mode and only used WiFi. The next day, that remaining data was gone! And even on good days, it seems like you burn through data quickly. Also, they list the 3GB for $9 special down a few rows where you’re less likely to see it. No download issues for Seoul South Korea and at the DMZ border and Hokkaido, Japan. For security reasons cell carrier ATT locks their SIM and requires user to call to unlock which is a hassle when wait time is 15 mins. Instead I used an old Iphone with ALO sim. Finding my way around public transit brought me into contact with kind locals.—thanks again AloSIM I had a 30 day chip which worked in Ireland for 6 days, but gave up the ghost in Spain. Tried customer support to no avail. O used them in Canada and USA both. And in US it just stops working at all through out my trip. And not to mention i was in a well connected area. Where my other sim worked fine. Same happened in Canada. I bought the unlimited plan but had to buy another one from local store. I kept on trying it every day to see if it might got fixed but it’s was always bad. But I would strongly advise against using their service. I purchased an E-sim for my trip well in advance. On the day of my trip, at the airport I tried activating my sim and it didn’t work. Turns out AloSim was having some problem with their network operator (which is completely understandable), but why only mention this or bring it up at the last minute? My flight was in 30 minutes and I thought let me chat with support and get this solved. But turns out you can’t. I first spoke to a Chatbot which gave me a generic message, I then chatted to 2 agents (Bernardo and I can’t recall the other name) and all they did is literally copy paste the same message from the chatbot into the box. I waited for a while longer and no one replied or gave an update regarding an estimated time frame when this would be fixed. Surprise Surprise, the network never came back on and the sim never worked and I had to choose a different provider. Now, I would let it be if it was just a problem with me, but the group we went with, every single one faced the same problem of AloSim not working and leaving people stranded. Poor service. Gianna ### 1/5 — Disrupted Service, Bad Customer Service, Throttled Unlimited *2026-06-13, version 1.76.0* First of all - UNLIMITED DOES NOT mean unlimited for aloSIM. It means 2GB in a 24 hour period until you are severely throttled to .5 MBit speeds. So if you are traveling and need information quickly such as for navigating … be prepared to wait and miss your turn, train, bus, etc. Additionally my service was interrupted for half a day during an unlimited plan I purchased. Want to know what aloSIM offered as a resolution? A publicly available discount code for my next purchase. They didn’t even suggest extending my unlimited plan for the time that the service was down. What a joke. ### 1/5 — It sounds good *2026-04-20, version 1.74.0* So I am not saying they are doing anything illegal but the way the site is run is the uncomparable to others as far as subscription and legal services go due to the long extended and un needed explanation for all and thy do it on purpose to try and make people just skip and sign but others have the same terms but very straightforward and not time consuming time which is why I stopped my friends from getting this app and helped get a better one for cheaper and there age group demographic is to broad so morally is wrong .my niece who’s ten can’t read that she just wants to talk to her friends on cation and even if the parents were there (which since everyone has a cell phone they might not )and tried to explain it wouldn’t make sense so if you are saying the person reading the contract is at fault then that’s true but it’s also a sweet way to lock people into a contract made difficult on purpose and designed that way then I would highly recommend not using this app instincts being my niece with her parents help lost money and time just trying to get out I use one called h*****d and I had to cancel my subscription and it took two seconds and no money r**e so again they are doing nothing illegal just immoral if you look at age demographics it comes from stupid younger people who they know are easy target I just gave stars so people can see all ### 1/5 — Used twice didn’t work *2026-04-10, version 1.74.0* I’ve been to Mexico twice with aloSIM both times it barely worked in Canada and it never worked the second time in Mexico at all. The process of using AloSIM eSIMs is seamless, whether on an iPhone with one physical SIM slot and one eSIM, or iPhones with only multiple eSIM “slots”. Since my first experience, I’ve used AloSIM across several continents and multiple countries without a hitch, and have used them on three different iPhone models. And just within the past several days of writing this review, I needed to contact customer service, and within hours they solved the issue I was having. (It was not an issue with data access, it was simply an account issue.) I have several installed for different countries. It works as soon as the line is activated upon arrival. Just make certain your other line is disabled before turning off airplane mode. The latest install showed pending for 40 minutes so I contacted support and it was solved immediately.
