So you can’t set date or time zone. Needs to get fixed ### 1/5 — Poor App *2019-04-08, version 2.0.2* Complicated app that is not intuitive. App sometimes does not calculate after you input data. I’ll stick to using the Guide to FAR 117 publication. ### 1/5 — Fix the app! *2019-02-06, version 2.0.2* It is awful since the IOS 12 update. It crashes every time and doesn’t save any of your data. It even takes data from other pilots and puts them in my flight time now. Incorrectly calculates flight hours because it will not accept time zone selection. After selecting "calculate" and "save" it fails to transfer the data to the next page correctly. Does not retain flight leg data entered, the flight disappears. This app is completely unusable. ### 3/5 — Really ALPA *2014-04-11, version 1.9.1* Last update the app stopped updating the time zones which worked fine on the update before that. Now it wouldn't load past the intro screen. I finally got the app to update and now all my previous data is lost. So glad my dues pay for this piece of crap. The next update fixed the problem I was having with the cycling start page and then your app team sent another update. Now the app cycles again at the start page and goes nowhere. After opening the app and letting it loop through the process several times (almost 15 minutes of initial load time) it is up and working again. ### 1/5 — Creators should be fired *2014-03-30, version 1.8* This app works about as well as ALPA represents regional airlines. Not only did the last update delete ALL of my cumulative but now this one just crashes upon opening of the app so it can't even be used. Doesn't keep track of your time zone, app is buggy and clumsy. ### 3/5 — Good ap but could be better *2014-03-23, version 1.7* This ap does exactly what it advertises. It lets you know your legality for day-of operations. It does take some attention as you have to input all your times into it. This would be a perfect resource if it had the ability to act as a logbook as well. It has all the basic data already. Maybe add a few optional fields I.e. tail number, approaches and landings. I know it goes outside the scope of this app's design but I think it would get five stars as so. ### 1/5 — Great app, but full of bugs *2014-03-03, version 1.6* This would be a great program, but it is full of bugs. I can never get past the opening screen that states its "loading icloud storage". This program and all of its data has been removed several times like alpa has stated to do. One of your latest updates cost me 2 1/2 months worth of data that I had to reenter. Almost worse than the Company’s IT department. Time for a significant upgrade. It's very simply laid out, and intuitive, which is huge. I had no crashing issues. ### 5/5 — So far, it seems to work *2013-10-24, version 1.0* Working on an iPhone w iOS 6.1.4 and iPad2 with 6.1. Just did a first flight segment in the "log". Seems to be working. Will keep updating. ### 4/5 — Works now *2021-10-21, version 2.0.4* Write the app so pilot could use flight plan info to calculate latest time off for duty time. Scheduled departure and arrival is usually legal (this app calculates this). But delayed departure with known flight time, debrief etc. is what this app should calculate. (it does not calculate it without a new flight plan, usually not the case for delayed departure). Current form is not useful. October 2021. I tried the app again after seeing other pilot to use, and it appears to work well. The questions and answers are good, please add simple link to this page in the app. Also, it appears that entering in local time is easier to understand, simple conversion should be explain (like the one in the FAQ), e.g. ATL based (eastern time zone) reporting in SEA at 07:00 (pacific time zone), enter 10:00 - local ATL time at report. I had to let it update itself for about 5 minutes on a 5S--it updates airports up to the number 25,000 twice in a row. But after that it was good to go. ### 4/5 — Big improvement *2014-02-17, version 1.5* The crashing of the app has improved dramatically on the iPhone 5. The functionality of the pop up directions on the app is a great improvement and help me understand what time zone to work from when flying internationally. I would like to be able to program scheduled flights (and maybe I can and I just don't understand the program) in the future to see where my restrictions are at. Right now best I can tell is I can only look one leg in advance. My legs are 3-13 hrs long and having the ability to forecast would be a great improvement! ### 4/5 — Glad I hit the "Update" button *2014-01-09, version 1.3* Guys... I was initially as frustrated as you were with the initial app, lacking the ability to log flight time in Zulu and not being able to anchor a base time zone - the whole idea behind 117. It was a very confusing app with good potential. However, the latest update has drastically improved this app, allowing for pilots to set a base time zone and log in Zulu (changes made under Settings). This equates to less math conversion and less confusion overall. Also, I was glad to see that my previous flight data was saved when I updated the app - good tutorial as well (bottom right). Also liked the added ability to edit past entries - much more flexibility this time around. Data input is a bit tedious but that is probably unavoidable with the complexity of the regs. Impressive first version launch. Highly informative, user friendly. ### 3/5 — Electronic Logbook Please *2015-11-24, version 1.9.9* Overall the app is not great, but I have found that it works as advertised for ALPA members. What would make it great, is if it was updated to also act as an electronic logbook. Only a few extra entry fields and the ability to generate a PDF record and this app could easily replace my pocket logbook in addition to tracking FAR 117 legality. Thanks ### 3/5 — Does not make job easy *2014-07-18, version 1.9.4* I need to put in the trip data, I need, latest blackout time, Latest Takeoff time that give us a hard go/no go plan that does not require a meeting in a room full of people who plan to make an example of you.
